2 insider tips: Aqua Flor Showroom + Rose Garden

Florence can be reached quickly from many countries and cities. Paris, Milan, but also Cologne, from where I started today. Only 1.5 hours flight and you are already in the middle of Italy. Here are the most important insider tips for your vacation in Florence:

Aqua Flor Showroom: Create Perfume

Giardino delle Rose: Rose Garden

Aqua Flor Showroom: Create Perfume

The most important essence: roses. That’s why after the showroom you should definitely stop by the “Giardino delle Rose”, with a unique view over Florence and few visitors.

Here you will find the Aqua Flor showroom:

Giardino delle Rose: Rose Garden

A dreamlike view over Florence and few visitors compared to the rest of the city, the “Giardino delle Rose”.

Here you will find Giardino delle Rose:

360° all-round view:

Niche perfume: what is it?

You probably know perfumes, but very few have heard of “niche perfumes”. They fill gaps (or niches) in the perfume market, so to speak.

Term: niche perfume (France)

The term originally comes from France “Niche”, which translates as “niche” or also “extraordinary” or “unique”. The niche perfumes appeal to discerning and courageous perfume wearers who also want to stand a little apart from the mainstream with the creations.

Ingredients: Pure oils and essences

Niche perfumes in most cases contain pure fragrance oils, sometimes extracts with up to 30-40%, such as Nasomatto and Profumu Roma. Thus, these fragrances have a completely different effect on the skin than normal perfumes. Normal perfumes sometimes contain more synthetic ingredients or a lower concentration of oils.

Flacons: Minimalist design

Another feature, niche fragrances are often bottled in simpler flacons. Since they are produced in smaller quantities, an elaborate design does not pay off. The persuasive power is not in the big appearance, but in the great individuality and the quality of the fragrance and its ingredients.

Niche perfume quickly explained:

Niche perfumes fill gaps in the perfume market

Word comes from France for something “special”, “exceptional” or even “unique”

Buyers are rather demanding

Pure oils instead of synthetics

Plain Falcons through small editions

What is Florence known for?

Florence is a fascinating city, even for me as a European, everything here looks a bit more European. The history of the city makes it so special.

Art, architecture and fashion

Why was Florence so rich? Especially the Medici family, who were one of the most powerful Italian families between the 15th and 18th centuries. They provided popes and queens. The Medici made their fortune in textiles. So at some point they hired Michelangelo for their house. This is how great masterpieces were created in Florence that you can still see today, like the statue of “David”, which was created between 1501 and 1504.

In Italian, Florence is called “Firenze”. The city has 370,000 inhabitants and 60,000 of them are students. This makes this historic city special, where old culture meets the new world.

6 short facts Florence:

In Italy the city is called: Firenze

It is the capital of the region of Tuscany

Florence has 380,000 inhabitants

Of which a whole 60,000 students

Strong influences from Medici family

Famous artists like Michelangelo

New patterns and shapes dominate the catwalks, calling back to real life after the Corona pandemic. Italian fashion has a long history, the spirit of which Fashion Week revives every year. If Italian fashion excites you and you also want to know what trends are set at Fashion Week in Tokyo or Paris, you can find our Fashion Week XXL Guide here.

Versace: Supermodels as the star of the show

Bright colors and the famous Versace pattern in gold – The new collection of Donatella Versace inspires with cheerful colors and airy cuts. The head designer of Versace knows how to get people’s attention. Supermodel Naomi Campbell, Gigi Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski walked the runway, while singer Dua Lipa herself got to close the show in a pink glitter ensemble. The new trademark Donatellas, the triangular headscarves as already seen in the last fall / winter collection, may of course not be missing!

Fendi: fur jackets and large patterns

Kim Jones has convinced again this time. The head designer of the men’s collection of Dior and the women’s collection of Fendi set this time on classic chic and created a new look full of elegance and power for the modern woman. He was inspired by the illustrations of artist Antonio López, who had already served as a source of inspiration for Karl Lagerfeld. Pastel colors and off-white, translated into airy dresses and strictly cut suits. See the new look for yourself here!

FENDACE: Collaboration of the giants

The highlight of Fashion Week in Milan was without a doubt the collaboration between the labels Fendi and Versace. Kim Jones and Donatella Versace have united to create a completely new and simply stunning look. The collection is presented by numerous familiar faces and is a declaration of love for fashion and the joy of dressing. Fendi logo prints on classic pieces from the Versace collections create a new overall look that is definitely streetwear ready.

Alberta Ferretti: The sign of rebirth

Inspired by butterflies, this year the Italian label shows delicate tulle dresses paired with macramé elements and iridescent patterns. Long fringes and perforated embroidery echo the texture and freedom of the butterfly. In reference to the Corona Pandemic, one understands why the designer chose the butterfly as the symbol of the new collection. It represents rebirth and return. The return to normal life has definitely succeeded here with Life Audience.

Jil Sander: changes and emotions

The Spring 2022 collection is a big step for designer duo Lucie and Luke Meier. The couple has always focused on tailoring and straight silhouettes in their collections. This year, for the first time, emotions play an extremely important role for them. This is especially visible in the love for details and finishes, but also the color palette has changed a lot from black to pastel. Get yourself a picture of the new Jil Sanders here!

Etro: The clothes of the hippie festivals

With this collection Veronika Etro remembers her wild teenage years at hippie festivals of the 70s. The label’s signature paisley pattern fully serves its purpose here, creating looks that call out to the wild and free side of life. Screaming colors like red, pink and turquoise remind us of the psychedelic trip of mushrooms or drugs. The whole thing is broken by the interplay of masculine and feminine cuts.

Prada: Simultaneous show in Milan and Shanghai

The second collection of the designer union between Muiccia Prada and Raf Simmons is once again a complete success. The collection was presented simultaneously in Milan and Shanghai. “Seduction, Stripped Down” is the original title of the collection. What is meant by this? To question the new body image of youth and to examine historical pieces for what they mean today in terms of seduction and sensuality. Bras and corsets are presented in this collection in unusual ways, such as sewn into pieces that are actually considered “unsexy,” like wool sweaters.

Dolce & Gabbana: Generation Z Collection

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in this collection take up the spirit of youth – the 2000s. Not only on the internet, but also on the runways, the phenomenon of this rather questionable fashion period can be found. However, since the 2000s were the heyday of the label, it makes sense why the designers fall back on it. The result is a Generation Z collection that is on par with social media culture. You’re guaranteed to be a looker in these outfits!

Venice: the city of love, a masked ball or the image of the doves in St. Mark’s Square? Those who think of Venice often already have a preconceived image in mind. Sure Venice can be romantic and playful , but there is so much more to the Italian city. Did you already know that the “centro strorico”, that is the historical centre is located on more than 1oo islands in the lagoon of Venice? But how deep is the water in Venice anyway? And how could a city be built surrounded by water?

Find out here about the most exciting sights, important districts and one or two special features that give the city its unique flair.

Venice: Insiders of the lagoon city

Venice is located in the north of Italy in the Veneto region. Due to the infrastructure, there are hardly any roads on the more than 1oo small islands, but almost exclusively canals, such as the world-famous Grand Canal. The individual islands are connected by over 400 bridges.

Venice is located in the immediate vicinity of the Slovenian border, so a trip to the capital Ljubljana may be more convenient to reach than the nearby Italian fashion metropolis of Milan, depending on traffic conditions.

Are you curious? Then read on here and find out about the hottest Italian designs at Milan Fashion Week.

If you take a closer look at Venice, you will quickly see that the city is surrounded by water. Hundreds of years ago, all the islands did not exist, as the sea and the coastline were still closer together. But the ever-changing lagoon has long since ceased to be left to its own fate. Due to the influence of man, rivers have been diverted in large-scale measures. Houses, palaces and buildings whose facades seem to be one with the water line the city’s more than 150 canals.

Assuming that the water was clear and not so polluted, you should actually see the stilts and wooden piles that form the foundation of the buildings on the canal side.

Did you know that wood is practically infinitely durable as long as it is completely submerged in water, since microorganisms and industrial waste cannot harm the material in water? No wonder that Venice will probably be known as the “floating city” or the “city of a thousand bridges” forever.

Vaporetto: The water bus as a means of transport

Cars, scooters and bicycles are forbidden in the lagoon city. The numerous small streets and alleys can only be passed on foot, which adds to the magic of the city. Far from the noise of motors, you feel like you’ve stepped back in time.

The traditional means of transport in Venice were gondolas, including gondoliers. Today, however, it is mainly tourists who use them to explore the city on guided tours through the canals. Locals mainly use motorboats. The only real means of public transport are the vaporetto boats, which can be seen as the equivalent of our domestic modes of transport such as bus and train. There are about 20 different lines connecting the main island with other islands and Venice with the mainland.

The most beautiful places, quarters & Co.

When you visit Venice, you should make a plan in advance of what you want to see. The city is not big, but due to the limited traffic and the many visitors, it can take a little longer to get from A to B. Venice is divided into six districts, which we will now briefly introduce to you below:

The six sestieri of Venice

Historic Venice is divided into the six districts of San Polo, Santa Corce, Cannaregio, Castello, San Marco and Dorsoduro, each with its own unique history. Cannaregio, for example, is one of the more authentic, dignified parts of the city, where visitors can get a glimpse into the lives of the locals. San Marco, on the other hand, is more lively and well-visited, with many popular tourist destinations located in this centrally-located district.

San Polo

Santa Corce

Cannaregio

Castello

San Marco

Dorsoduro with the island Giudecca

See for yourself and explore the Cannaregio district before your trip, for example, or find out more exciting information about some of the sestieri.

University district Dorsoduro

Dorsoduro: A district with a lively atmosphere and vibrant nightlife. In addition to numerous bars and restaurants, which one or the other Venetian likes to visit regularly, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, for example, is also located in the quarter. The many shops, in combination with the clotheslines of the inhabitants, which are stretched criss-cross through the alleys, create a unique charm.

The island of Giudecca, which also belongs to the district, is considered a meeting place for young people. Here, too, there are numerous restaurants lined up along the promenades. South of the old town of Venice, it also has some buildings worth seeing, such as the church “Le Zitelle”.

San Marco: Basilica di San Marco & Co.

As Venice is a popular destination for many holidaymakers, it is worth exploring the famous sights in the morning and evening hours. During the peak tourist season, it is still warm at this time and the masses of day tourists from the surrounding Italian countryside have disappeared, so that the picturesque impressions of the city are ideal.

St. Mark’s Basilica on St. Mark’s Square is probably the most famous sight in Venice, including the Campanile di San Marco bell tower. The St. Mark’s Tower is almost 100 meters high and thus almost twice as high as the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

But also the Palazzo Ducale is a must. To avoid the long queue in front of the ticket office, you can also enter through a side entrance at the Museo Archelogico.

Castello

The luxury district of Castello is located in the northeastern part of the city and borders directly on St. Mark’s Square. The district’s “Giardini della Biennale” park will serve as the venue for the Architecture Biennale, which is taking place for the 17th time this year under the title “How will we live together? 3 national entries will grace the city from May 22 to November 21, in honor of Italian artist Lina Bo Bardi. The highlight of the exhibition marks a golden lion to honor her life’s work.

But also the Palazzo Ducale is a must. To avoid the long queue in front of the ticket office, you can also enter through a side entrance at the Museo Archelogico.

The Top 5 Venetian Islands

Although Venice itself has a lot to offer, it is worth exploring one or more of the surrounding Venetian islands for a day trip. Escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy some time away from the classic tourist attractions.

Venetian features in fast forward

Of course, the entire city, the architecture and the Venetian way of life is a special experience, but certain spots of the city you simply must have seen. That’s why we have summarized them here for you.

Caffè Florian: Probably the most famous Venetian coffee house

Have you always wanted to try Venetian coffee? Then visit the Caffè Florian in Piazza San Marco and feel transported to an age when Goethe, Giacomo Casanova or Richard Wagner also enjoyed their coffee. Today the coffee house is a real tourist attraction, but due to its very special charm it is incomparable and should definitely be on your “to-do list”.

Carnival of Venice

The historic Venice Carnival is probably the city’s attraction, with its masks, animal fights or fireworks. Especially famous are the masks and costumes that cover part or half of the face. But besides the traditional masks, there are also other masks and disguises.

Visit one of the many boutiques and learn more about the popular and famous landmark of Venice. And who knows, maybe your loved ones back home will be happy about a little souvenir?

Venice as a film location

Not infrequently, the beautiful lagoon city serves as a film setting. For example, the main character of the novel “Lord of the Thieves” by the famous children’s book author Cornelia Funke finds himself on a magical carousel in Venice to finally be older. But also action-packed movies like the second Bond movie with Sean Connery or the drama “Honig im Kopf” with Til Schweiger have a reference to Venice. Both films demand towards the end the action in the Italian city and offer an impressive insight into the city.

So if you want to spend your holidays together as a family in Venice, it’s a good idea to accompany the journey with the right audio book to get in the mood for your holiday. If you want to make your stay particularly exciting, you can, for example, think up a tour in which you guide your children to several film locations such as the former theater “Stella” or the Basilica on the…

Exciting excursion ideas for young and old

Gondola ride on the Grand Canal

What could be more romantic than a gondola ride on the Grand Canal? Depending on your preference, there are private rides just for two, a gondola tour at night, or a shared tour with other onlookers. Either way, it’s worth exploring the waterway by boat and catching a glimpse of the palaces, churches and on the banks of the canal.

<iframe loading="lazy" title="Venedig: Bootsfahrt auf dem Canale Grande Markusplatz, Rialtobrücke.
Tour of the Jewish quarter (ghetto)

The Jewish quarter of Venice is located in the Cannaregio district. In the past, there were strict rules here. For example, men had to wear a yellow cap when leaving the ghetto, women had to wear a yellow scarf and in the evening the gates to the quarter were firmly locked.

Today that has changed. Numerous tours lead through the quarter to explore the three synagogues and the Jewish quarter. Are you also curious what the quarter has to offer? See for yourself and get an idea of the ghetto in advance.

Plan your holiday now: tips & tricks

You are curious and can’t wait to travel to Venice yourself? Find out here about the best time to travel, how to get there from Germany and about possible accommodations.

When is the best time to travel?

The climate in Venice is temperate. Already in March the spring begins slowly. From April the temperatures rise and in May the thermometer already reaches an average temperature of 21 degrees Celsius. September, October and November are the best months to visit Venice, as the temperatures are bearable and you can still expect five to six hours of sunshine per day. In the autumn months, Venice exudes a very special charm, as there are often floods and high water.

Too warm temperatures, coupled with a high tourist rush in the height of summer can make your stay in the lagoon city miserable, as you probably won’t be able to enjoy your holiday to the full.

Inform yourself here about the current weather situation in Venice to be able to plan your upcoming vacation ideally:

This guarantees a successful journey

Getting to Venice is easier than you might think, because Venice even has an airport from where you can easily get to the city with the “AliLaguna boat” for around 15 euros. An alternative is the “ACTV Bus” which takes you to Piazzale Roma from where you can comfortably take a Vaparetto to the accommodation of your choice.

Travellers by train can reach the station “Santa Lucia”, which is also a Vaparetto station.

But also a journey by car is possible. If you come from Germany you have to consider that the passage through Austria and Italy is not free and you have to pay tolls. From Berlin, for example, you need about 12 hours to Venice. Of course, this can vary depending on travel time and traffic. When you arrive in Venice, you can park your car in Tronchetto and take a vaporetto from there. You will have to pay a fee of 21 euros per day. However, many hotels have a garage in which you can park as a guest at a reduced rate.

Luxury hotel, camping or would you prefer a holiday apartment?

Hotels are a dime a dozen in Venice, whether high-priced or a little cheaper, everyone will find something here. The five-star Hotel Luna Baglioni, for example, is located just a few steps from St. Mark’s Square and is the oldest hotel in Venice. It boasts feudal floral bouqets, suites and a terrace overlooking the canals. The boutique Hotel Novecent in San Marco is smaller, but definitely no less grandiose. The nine rooms are decorated in oriental style and the small courtyard makes for a wonderful breakfast in the fresh air.

Unlike hotels, holiday homes usually offer less comfort and luxury, as you have to take care of the daily cleaning of the room yourself, for example. Nevertheless, the equipment in a holiday home offers an immense added value, as you are more flexible in terms of time thanks to an ideally fully equipped kitchen and can, for example, have breakfast at home. An Airbnb also offers more privacy as you usually have a small kingdom just for you.

Find out in which part of the city you want to spend your holiday and book your hotel or Airbnb for yourself, your family or for a romantic holiday with your partner.

Real estate in Venice

Your heart beats for Venice and you want to spend your holidays there several times a year? Then think about whether it might be worthwhile to buy a plot of land in Venice and build your own house there. Maybe you already find a holiday home or apartment that suits you?

Q&A: What should you know before traveling to Venice?

Feel like you still have some unanswered questions or want to find out if you’ve retained the information from the article? Take a quick test now and try to answer the following questions.

Can I arrive by car?

Yes, you can travel by car, but you have to park it outside the city in a garage, as the city is car-free. Alternative means of travel are by plane or train.

Which are the most beautiful places in Venice?

Venice has many beautiful places. End your evening with a glass of wine on the Grand Canal, visit the Giardini della Biennale park and admire the Biennale exhibits, or stroll through the Jewish quarter and soak up centuries of history.

When is the best time to travel?

The spring months of April and May as well as the autumn months of September, October and November are considered the best time to travel, as the climate is moderate during these months and the tourist rush is still or no longer as high.

What is Venice built on?

Venice, unlike many other Italian cities, was not built by the Romans. The foundations on which the walls of the palazzi and churches were built are mostly four parallel rows of walls perpendicular to the canal, built up to 80 centimetres deep into the ground Only the canal-side facades actually rest on tree trunks.

Camping is the most popular way to vacation there, whether in a camper, tent or bungalow. Of course you can also rent a suitable holiday home or book a hotel. The journey is a bit long, but uncomplicated by car and plane. It is bursting with activities, so that no day will be boring and at the same time you have the feeling to take a real piece of Italian history with you, when you have seen the numerous landmarks of the country in one region. We’ve put together the most important information and a few real insider tips to make planning your holiday in Tuscany as easy as possible.

Camping in Tuscany: facilities & arrival

The region of Tuscany covers an area of 22,985 km² in the north of Italy directly on the Mediterranean Sea. It is especially known for cities like the capital Florence or Pisa. Due to the climatically favorable location, Tuscany is a popular destination for campers. With dog, child and family you can have a great holiday here. Whether glamping on a luxury campsite or preferring a hotel with a pool, in Tuscany there is a holiday for everyone. From the south of the region, larger cities such as Rome can be reached within two hours for a great day trip, by train or car it’s easy. The whole region is located directly on the Mediterranean Sea and has some small islands, which also belong to the region and are easy to reach by boat. So a beach holiday is also a possibility if Tuscany is an interesting destination.

Arrival: by train, plane or car

Whether by train, plane or car, Tuscany is easy to reach via most routes. Similar to a trip to Lake Garda, the journey is relatively easy. By car, it takes a few hours. By plane about one. The routes are easy to get from the internet, but also easy to manage with a navigation device. The entry with a camper or a caravan trailer are also possible, but it should be noted urgently that you have to expect tolls on the highway. As Tuscany is a region in Italy, there are numerous airports available for air travel, so you can choose the one closest to your destination. However, the most popular airports are those in Pisa and the capital Florence, as they are the most famous cities and have the largest airports.

Campsites: by the sea, with pool or glamping

If you want to travel to Italy in Tuscany by car or even by motorhome, you can simply stay at one of the many campsites in a dreamlike setting. In the middle of Tuscany there are many campsites in different locations and with different activities. Whether directly by the sea, including a pool or in the middle of a luxurious complex. Here you can spend a relaxing and exciting holiday with the whole family. Try something new, grab your camper or a tent and plan your next holiday.

Ever heard of roof tents? Here you can find more info!

Route: How long does it take?

The route to Tuscany by car takes on average twelve hours and is about 1,100 kilometers. Of course, it depends on where you start and where exactly you want to spend your holiday in Tuscany. The route options are divided into two different ones. On the one hand there is the possibility to drive through Switzerland and on the other hand you can also choose the way through Austria. On both ways, you have to reckon with a motorway toll, a Maut, which has to be paid in Austria and Switzerland. Alternatively, you can fly into Tuscany and choose the airport closest to your desired holiday destination. The two biggest most popular are the airport in the capital Florence or in Pisa.

Climate & Weather: Average and water temperature

The climate in Tuscany is quite warm and dry. In summer, between June and September, it gets up to 31 degrees, the perfect time for a beach holiday on the Mediterranean. It hardly rains and the sun shines about ten hours a day. However, those who are not interested in a pure bathing holiday in the summer holidays can also wonderfully spend their Easter holidays in Tuscany. Between April and May, it is a nice 20 degrees and it still remains mostly dry and with seven to ten hours of sunshine a day, there are also beautiful evenings.

Water temperature: pleasant bathing fun

Since many holidaymakers opt for a sea holiday in Tuscany, such as in the coastal city is of course also the water temperature of the sea interesting. Most of the time you can expect pleasant degrees in the water. Of course, the first shock must be overcome even at these temperatures, but actually nothing should stand in the way of bathing fun.

Accommodation: camping, hotel or fixed accommodation

Tuscany, like many regions and cities in Italy, is known for its campsites. Whether you are traveling by car or motorhome, in Tuscany there are numerous campsites where there is also something for you. There are differences in location, type and price, but everyone who is looking will find what they are looking for. If you are sure that you would prefer a more permanent accommodation, you can also look for an apartment, a holiday home for rent or a hotel. The great thing about the region is that the locations suit each individual search request. Whether a little more rural in the east of the region, or yet directly on the sea in the west. Everyone will find their perfect place in Tuscany.

Camping with the whole family: dog & child

Camping is the most popular way to spend your holiday in Tuscany. The possibilities are endless and you have extremely flexible options to organize your holiday. The campsites have toilets and showers and in many cases a pool. The location can of course be chosen freely and also the accommodation possibilities know no limits. You can bring your own tent, a permanent pitch from the campsite, or your own motorhome – everything is possible. Stays with children or dogs are also on most places no problem, children’s entertainment is of course also mostly offered.

Hotel: directly at the sea, with pool & family hotel

When it comes to hotels, Tuscany has a lot to offer. There are hotels of all price ranges throughout the region. Directly by the sea or rather a little further east away from the sea and more rural. Most of the hotels have their own pool, no matter if the holiday should take place at the sea or rather in the city, the bathing fun should not be missing. Also family hotels with children’s entertainment, or near a dog beach are represented throughout the region, so that you can easily make great holidays with the whole family.

Permanent accommodation: holiday home, holiday apartment & bungalow with pool

Who would like to experience the flexibility of a camping holiday without camping is certainly interested in a fixed accommodation. Whether this should be a holiday home, a holiday apartment or a bungalow is of course up to each holidaymaker. In these facilities, vacationing with a child is in most cases somewhat difficult with dogs, as many apartment owners do not allow pets in their residences and it also looks with the children’s entertainment often somewhat difficult, but these are welcomed. However, most of the housing complexes, be it bungalow parks or apartment units, have their own pool. In private houses, the pool, if available, is more private than anywhere else, as it is only available to the residents of the house. Holiday homes are also ideal for a flexible family holiday as you don’t have to worry about complaints or anything like that.

The most beautiful places: Florence and Pisa

Tuscany covers a large area and has some interesting places that are worth a day trip. The history behind the region has allowed great cities to emerge over the centuries, which still spread their flair today and are known throughout the world for their landmarks and ancient buildings. In Florence there is the old market place “Palazzio Vecchio” and the Galleria dell’Accademia where the David statue of the famous artist Michelangelo can be admired. In Pisa stands another landmark of Italy, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, which encourages many tourists to take funny photos. But the region has much more interesting landscapes, culinary and cultural experiences to offer and that is why it is such a popular destination.

Florence: capital of the region Tuscany

Florence is the capital of the Tuscany region and has about 380,000 inhabitants. The city has a very impressive history and therefore also much to offer. There are many museums and cultural attractions that are definitely worth a visit. For one, the Florence Cathedral with its impressive dome is a popular destination in the city. But if you prefer to enjoy some art in one place, you should not miss the Galleria dell’Accademia. It is one of the most famous art museums in the world thanks to its special exhibit, the David statue by Michelangelo. But also many other works of art of the Italian history find their home there. But Florence has not only culture up its sleeve, but also incredibly interesting and beautiful house landscapes, as you would expect from a big Italian city. Great old buildings decorate through and through the old streets of the city and are filled with small shops and restaurants on the lower floors. For authentic and simple Italian cuisine is also definitely present and good to enjoy in Florence, as in the rest of Tuscany.

Pisa: student city in the middle of a dreamlike scenery

Pisa is more than the Piazza dei Miracoli on which the world famous “leaning tower of Pisa”, also called the “Torre Pendente”, stands. The less noticed but equally impressive Santa Maria Assunta, the cathedral of Pisa, is the building that belongs to the leaning bell tower and impresses thousands of tourists every year, especially from the inside with great mosaics. Also in the student city the historical construction of the old houses impresses and the many small restaurants in the whole city give also Pisa the wonderful Tuscan flair which one should not miss in his vacation at all. Especially the Il Ristoro della Pe’ is praised again and again and is a great dinner in the city of the leaning tower not to miss.

Can’t get enough of the beautiful places of Italy? Learn more about the city of Merano here!

Activities: Springs, coasts & co.

If you’re still looking for activities for your holiday in Tuscany, now is the time to pay close attention. Whether it’s something relaxing or you’re looking for a great day out full of energy, we have the perfect activity for you. In Italy, besides great landscapes and historical artifacts, there are of course national parks and other natural occurrences, such as thermal baths, which are particularly interesting for many tourists for interesting day trips.

Thermal springs: hot bubble bath

The thermal springs are located in several parts of southern Tuscany and are a natural spectacle. Here you can relax for free and really unwind, as you should on holiday. The thermal springs are hot water occurrences that resemble a bubbling bathtub. The water flows through the tubs into each other and remains constant at up to 50 degrees.

Coasts: beautiful landscape at the Mediterranean Sea

Especially the island of Elba is a real insider tip of the nature parks in Tuscany. Hiking, cycling or a cultural walk on the historic island are ideal here. Of course, there are also many natural parks on the mainland that lend themselves to the same program. Hiking trails are everywhere in the hilly landscape of Tuscany and of course the volcano “” to which the thermal springs are owed can be explored on guided tours. A truly active holiday in Tuscany is quite possible.

Insider tips: Round trip, vineyards & Co.

Tuscany has much more to offer than just beautiful cities. There are also other destinations throughout the region that you won’t find in the guidebooks. Whether it is a tour over one day past beautiful landscapes, or a tour over several days. Also in terms of accommodation, the region has a few hidden campsites and hotels that do not immediately appear after the first Google search.

Tuscan Vineyards – Culinary Tour

Tuscany is the most famous wine region in Italy and is therefore perfect for a trip through the Italian vineyards, whether the whole holiday is to be a culinary journey with several stops, or whether they are to be toured in one day in the form of a day trip. Especially along the coasts of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the hills between Florence, Siena, Montalcino and Montepulciano are the largest, most beautiful and most famous vineyards in Tuscany. There you can admire the landscape in a unique way and taste some of the best wines in the world.

Marble quarries around Carrara (Apuan Alps)

In the marble quarrying area of the Apuan Alps you get knowledge in the most beautiful way. In this sporty affair you combine hiking with a great knowledge trip through the mountains of Tuscany where precious marble is mined and prepared for processing around the world. On a beautiful hiking trail you will be guided through the mountains and you will be told interesting things about the area again and again. Of course you will have the information right in front of your nose and therefore you can look directly at what you are learning. These tours are a very special attraction and perfect for those who are looking for a more sporty holiday.

Baia Azzurra Club – Camping Village

Baia Azzurra is a club that offers a wide range of accommodation. The Camping Village has several apartment units, as well as bungalows and of course pitches for holidaymakers with motorhomes. The Village is located directly on the sea near the town of Grossetto, which also has its own airport. For those who, despite the sea, prefer to have their own pool, there are swimming pools on the site, the use of which is of course free for residents of the campsite. Whether you want to go on holiday with a dog or a child, this renowned campsite welcomes everyone. However, not in the fixed accommodation units such as the apartments, but only on the campsite itself and there also not at the pool and also only with a leash.

Beaches

Especially in summer, Tuscany is a popular destination for tourists from all over the world. Thanks to the great weather and the convenient location, the region is perfect for a relaxing beach holiday. The sea stretches along the entire coast and is still easy to reach even from the east of the region to make the benefits of a beach holiday from the entire region useful.

Dog beach

Of course, holidaymakers with dogs do not want to miss the beach feeling, but unfortunately dogs are not allowed on all beaches in Tuscany. Fortunately, here is the solution of the dog beach. A beach especially for holidaymakers with dogs, so that their little four-legged friends can also enjoy the sea. The rules on the beaches are usually very similar and are based on the principle of trust, so they have to make sure that they immediately remove the dog’s dirt as usual. Then nothing stands in the way of bathing fun with their four-legged friend.

Sandy beach

Especially in the south there are rather coarser beaches, so that for a real bathing holiday, where they also want to enjoy the salty water and not only the fine sea air, they should definitely keep in mind when choosing the city in which they want to spend their holidays, that the sandy beaches are more in the north. Of course, you can also get into the water via the stonier beaches, but the whole thing is simply not as comfortable as on the softer sandy beaches.

Holiday South Tyrol – Breathtaking natural landscapes, emerald green lakes, high peaks and attractions all around. This is nothing for weak nerves! But also for those who are looking for relaxation, there is the possibility to go hiking on the Braies Lake, shopping in Bolzano, a boat trip on the Caldaro Lake or a wine tasting in the different provinces of South Tyrol. Don’t forget to get to know the history of South Tyrol during your city tour. With one of the oldest mummies, South Tyrol is the archaeological showcase city. And what do you do after all these activities and explorations? Exactly, relax in one of the numerous wellness hotels or spas! South Tyrol invites old and young, nature lovers and city dwellers, adrenaline junkies and the epicurean.

South Tyrol: facts & the history of the region

The history of South Tyrol started early, everyone knows Ötzi from the ice. Ötzi is probably considered the most famous “Iceman” in history: His story takes place in 3200 BC, when the side valleys were settled. The region is not only famous for Ötzi, it also has its own language. The Ladin language, which is still spoken today in Val Gardena and Val Badia, dates from 400 BC to the 5th century AD, when South Tyrol was still under the influence of the Romans and Rhaetians.

Tourists have always been in the region, in the past it was the merchants. The region was of enormous importance with numerous trade routes and market places and served as a bridge between the Italian north and the Germanic south. Today you can still see the 800 castles and palaces, which are considered to be remnants of that time. Tyrol has its very special charm, especially the popular region of South Tyrol. Sweet houses, wooden look and the mountains in the background. Especially the Habsburgs shaped the region. Until 1918, South Tyrol belonged to the County of Tyrol and thus to the Habsburg Empire for over 550 years. This period had a great influence on the culture, architecture and cuisine of South Tyrol.

South Tyrol was granted to Italy after the First World War. After years of Italianisation policy and hard political power struggles, the second autonomous status for the protection of South Tyroleans came into force in 1972. People of Italian, German and Ladin mother tongue live peacefully together today.

Meran: Between active holidays and pure relaxation!

Merano is a city on the south side of the Alps. It connects north and south through its central location in the middle of South Tyrol. Merano is especially known for its spas and the architectural art reflected in its buildings. Merano is located at an altitude of 325 m and has a population of 37,500 people. Due to its special location, Merano benefits all year round with a mild climate and flowering gardens. Nevertheless, you can find snow-covered peaks in the high mountains and the possibility of winter sports of all kinds. Both German and Italian are spoken and cooked. Let yourself be enchanted by the Mediterranean and Alpine cuisine on your next adventure in the South Tyrolean Alps. Merano offers an extraordinary combination of activities for all those who are looking for a lot of application during their holidays. Between hiking at sunrise, road biking and climbing, Merano has it all. Crystal-clear drinking water on the Passirio river with the quality seal 1 based on bio-indicators, flourishing nature, green terraces along the river are ideal for those who want to enjoy nature in peace and quiet.

Passeier Valley for adrenaline junkies

In the Val Passiria, the adrenalin junkies will find a suitable setting for Tarzaning and Canyoning. “What’s that?”, one or the other might ask. With trained guides you transform nature into your own playground. Rock faces become slides, waterfalls become whirlpools and right in the middle of it all you are swimming, abseiling and diving!

Heini-Holzer via ferrata

Still low on adrenaline? How about climbing the Heini-Holzer via ferrata on the mountain “Kleiner Ifinger”? The 2550 m high mountain has a 1000 m long via ferrata which offers magnificent views of the Isartal Alps. In the first two months alone it was climbed 10,000 times. In contrast to Hoachwool via ferrata, the Heini-Holzer via ferrata is designed in such a way that children from the age of 10 can also climb it. Of course, the via ferrata should not be underestimated, as there is no opportunity to get off on the way. You can only turn back at the beginning, which is why the initial part is so difficult.

But there is one good news: These views from there are unforgettable and there is a small rest area to take a break and relax!

South Tyrol South: Bolzano, Lake Caldaro, South Tyrolean Wine Road and the Dolomites

Time out around Bolzano, Lake Kaltern, the South Tyrolean Wine Road and the Dolomites. The south of South Tyrol has many beautiful corners. How about real mummies for a small price? For 2.99 euros you can buy a day ticket for the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology and admire the 5000 year old Ötzi. In 1991, he was found by hikers on the Hauslabjoch together with his complete clothing and numerous items of equipment. Neither embalmed nor ritually buried, researchers claim that Ötzi bled to death by an insidious murder. You can find out more on the spot in the museum!

But that is by no means the only thing you can discover about Bolzano. A ride with the cable car takes you from 265 meters to 1000 meters in only 10 minutes. The Kohlern cable car has been in existence for more than 100 years and offers a fantastic view of the provincial capital Bolzano and the south of South Tyrol. Also our shopoholics do not miss out. Due to its history and geographical location, the trading town serves as a bridge between two cultures. So you can find German specialities as well as the typical Italian Cafe Crema, Latte Macchiato or Cappuccino. In addition, you can find traditional South Tyrolean clothing, haute couture and handicrafts at the Saturday market in the numerous family-run shops and boutiques.

Pragser Wildsee: Breathtaking nature

The lake, 36 metres deep, is also called the “Pearl of the Dolomite Lakes”. The Braies Lake, created long ago by a mudflow, lies at almost 1,500 m above sea level in the beautiful Braies Valley. With its blue-green shimmer it attracts thousands of tourists every year. With its breathtaking beauty it also offers a counterpart to Canada’s National Park in Banff. So why travel almost 7000 kilometers to Canada, when you can discover this beautiful natural spectacle practically on your doorstep ?

The lake plays an important role in the world of legends. Supposedly there is an ancient legend that says that the gate to the underworld is located at the southern end of the lake, where the imposing Seekofel stands today. With a ride in a boat one could allegedly reach the underground kingdom of the Fanes. But even so, a canoe or boat trip on the Braies Lake is worthwhile for a romantic experience on the emerald green lake.

Attention: Even though the lake seems so idyllic, it has icy temperatures even in summer due to the mountain water!

The lake is also ideal for hiking. The 4 km long lake circuit along the shore is suitable for children and adults. In about 1.5 hours you can walk around the lake at a pleasant walking pace. Moreover, it is not a problem for prams or wheelchairs. For a short break there are picnic areas with benches and tables, as well as numerous rest areas. If the way is too strenuous, there is also a shuttle service. It is definitely worth walking to the south shore, because there the fine-grained sandy beach is waiting!

Map: South Tyrol

The South Tyrol known by its name, which officially belongs to the Autonomous Province of Bolzano – South Tyrol, is the northernmost province of Italy and forms together with the Province of Trento the autonomous region Trentino – South Tyrol.

Accommodations

An important part of a journey is the accommodation. Therefore, the question of all questions always arises when planning your holiday. What kind of accommodation do I book? Where exactly will I stay? South Tyrol has so many beautiful corners, that’s why it is so difficult to find the right one. Especially if you try to please everybody. While you are a nature lover yourself and want to be enchanted by the beautiful wide open spaces, the teenage daughters prefer to go shopping in Bolzano. For the small children, entertainment must also be provided, so a visit to the museum might be an option. Having chosen a destination, all the thinking starts with the right accommodation. A good price, nice facilities and a central location cannot be reconciled with the wishes of a nature lover. Holiday apartment or camping?

We have searched for you the advantages and disadvantages of camping and holiday apartments together:

Camping

South Tyrol offers the perfect opportunity for camping. It is not only close to Germany, but impresses with its fascinating nature. That is why South Tyrol has, so to speak, specialised in camping for tourists from German-speaking countries and Italy. Whether caravan or the simple tent, South Tyrol promises to please everyone. With Glamping and motorhome you are in the more luxurious class when it comes to camping. No hard camping mats, no communal showers and no annoying camping accessories. Glamping is the equivalent counterpart to holiday homes. Charming chalets or bungalows that are fully furnished. Nevertheless, we do not advise against typical camping by the lake while gathering around a campfire with your loved ones. A perfect way to take your four-legged friend with you and, unlike the hotel, no one will complain if the children are a little noisy.

Advantage:

No stress when booking holidays

Transfer to the hotel included in the price

Completely cared for by the staff

Ideal for cooking muffle

The cleaning is done by others

Disadvantages:

Significantly higher price

Extra payments for internet, parking, etc.

fixed location, no spontaneity

Mostly no washing, cooking etc. possible

Hotel: Between wellness hotel and family hotel

Nature brings peace. How can you relax more calmly than in one of the numerous wellness hotels in South Tyrol? Hotel owners in South Tyrol have made it their business to transfer the peace of nature to the inner nature of people. In specialized SPA areas you can indulge yourself with relaxing treatments and enjoy your stay to the full. This does not mean that South Tyrol is not a family resort. Besides wellness hotels, family hotels are among the most frequent requests. Holidays in the fresh air let children romp like in their favourite movies. Whether they are experiencing adventures or enjoying the varied holiday programme with other children, which has been developed by nature education specialists.

One thing is clear: the children will not lack for fun and the parents can relax in peace and quiet in togetherness!

Advantage:

No stress when booking holidays

Transfer to the hotel included in the price

Completely cared for by the staff

Ideal for cooking muffle

The cleaning is done by others

Disadvantages:

Significantly higher price

Extra payments for internet, parking, etc.

fixed location, no spontaneity

Mostly no washing, cooking etc. possible

Holiday apartment & holiday home

A holiday apartment is especially for families the ideal accommodation for a holiday in the mountains of South Tyrol. Because an apartment offers great comfort at attractive conditions: a good price-performance ratio for families who want to stay flexible during their holidays. A typical apartment is spacious and has family-friendly, functional furnishings and a fully equipped kitchen. Mostly there is also a balcony or a garden where the children can play undisturbed and let off steam.

Advantage:

Privacy

Fully equipped

Independence

Flexibility with meals (no getting up early as with package tours)

Disadvantage:

Tied to one place

Limited comfort compared to hotel

Cooking, cleaning and shopping for yourself

Increased need for luggage (bed linen, towels, etc.)

More expensive compared to camping

Weather: South Tyrol

Today/ in 3 days

In the north of Italy, bordering on Austria and Switzerland, in the area of the Eastern Alps there is a pleasant climate all year round. The mountain range protects against strong influences of the surrounding climate zones. Warm and humid air masses push from the Mediterranean into the interior, while in the south they are largely kept away by the Dolomites, which means less rain. Towards the north the climate becomes more continental.

Holiday in Sardinia – A very popular destination for people of all ages. You don’t have to travel 7,500 km to the Caribbean if you have dream beaches in the middle of Europe with azure blue sea, 500 year old bays, a stirring history and fine-grained white sand. It is not for nothing that Sardinia is called “the European Caribbean”. Paradise is sometimes closer than you might think, and that at an affordable price! Who says no to that? With 2.3 million tourists every year, Sardinia is no longer an insider tip. Every year cities like Cagliari, Alghero, Olbia or Porto Cervo are visited by A-celebs, models and high society, but nevertheless Sardinia is also a place for families and relaxation. In contrast to the typical Italian pizza, pasta and gelato, Sardinia also enchants with its Catalan cuisine and its magnificent internationally-inspired architecture. It offers attractions in the sea and on land, whether kitesurfing, diving or shopping and sightseeing in the romantic “vicolos”, which means “alleys” in English.

Cagliari: capital of Sardinia – city trip & pure relaxation

The largest city on the island with about 160,000 inhabitants is the heart of Sardinia. Cagliari is located directly on the sea, but its historical architecture makes it a real metropolis. A holiday and relaxation resort, at the same time a typical city for a city trip. It combines breathtaking nature and big city flair in one. Whether you want to go for a swim on Poetto’s house beach, discover the history of the city in the historic quarter “Il Castello” or taste the best fish in town in the San Bendetto market. All this and more can be found there.

We have selected the top 10 sights for you:

San Benedetto Market

Santa Maria del Fiore

Mount Urpinu

Bastione di Saint Remy, Il Castello district

National Archaeological Museum

The Palazzo di Citta

The Poetto Beach

Castello Quarters

Centro Storico

Map: Sardinia

Sardinia lies in the Tyrrhenian Sea and is directly connected to Corsica. With a distance of 180 km to the Italian mainland it is as far away as Tunisia. So it is worthwhile to visit the neighboring island for a short time during a round trip or a stay in the north by boat. As a tip over the Italian boot, Sardinia enjoys an advantageous location. It is surrounded by Spain, France, Italy and the North African countries. This makes it an important location for the transport of goods and at the same time it draws many international impressions in the fields of art, architecture and cuisine from its neighbouring countries.

Sardinia: The most beautiful destinations & attractions

Besides the capital Cagliari, there are numerous beautiful places to discover in Sardinia. Whether you are looking for celebrities, are interested in history or want to enjoy a typical beach holiday on Europe’s most beautiful sea. Sardinia offers everything. Families can escape from everyday stress and relax in Olbia at the turquoise blue water. Couples in love can stroll through the alleys and admire the local shops and cafes. Those interested in history can explore the Catalan influenced city of Alghero and the luxury queens and luxury kings among you can even rent one of the many white yachts at the port of Porto Cervo.

Alghero: italian small-barcelona

Alghero is a very special city and stands out from the typical Italian flair. The reason for this lies in its history, over 400 years of Spanish influence can be found everywhere. The romantic old town with traditional Catalan cuisine, with typical Spanish architecture and the bilingual street signs for the Catalans living there, is therefore also called “Little Barcelona”. One even sees the Catalan flag waving beside the Sardinian, European and Italian flag.

Fortunately, Alghero’s old town is located right at the sea. Thus, one can admire the history of Alghero, that comes to life through the nicely illuminated city wall and the old church, while having a coffee with a view to the sea. Also something the Sardinians are very proud of are the world famous corals, which can be found on the beautiful north coast of Alghero. For many years the tradition of coral processing was continued there, but today mainly fake corals are sold, as they are now under species protection.

Olbia: beach holiday & romantic shopping streets

Another city in the north-east of Sardinia is the charming port city of Olbia. It is known for its narrow, typically Italian streets and colourful houses, the expensive shop windows and the beautiful beaches with turquoise water. The old town enchants with its playful narrow streets. Corso Umberto is probably the most famous shopping street. The small local shops, the cute cafes, the colourful little houses tempt you to treat yourself to a gelato and stroll quietly towards the harbour.

The dream beaches on the Costa Smeralda remind you of the Caribbean. White beaches, turquoise water and that in the middle of Europe! Whether endless long walks at the side of his great love or action through the high offer of water sports. On the 1.400m long beach there is something for everyone!

Porto Cervo: Luxury holidays – yachts and boats in the port city

Porto Cervo – The epitome of Dolce Vita. Yachts, luxury villas, luxury hotels as far as the eye can see. Stars, international models and even members of the royal family relax here every year. The Italian seaside resort was acquired by the Karim Aga Khan IV in 1962 and transformed into a luxury holiday resort. With 700 ship berths it is one of the largest ports in the Mediterranean. Especially for yacht fanatics the place is a real paradise. Renowned yacht clubs and white yachts of every size and type offer a wonderful contrast to the royal blue sea.

Arrival in Sardinia: flight, car trip & ferry

A fast 2 hour flight or a full day trip by car and ferry? Both have advantages and disadvantages, especially with regard to weather, season, costs and number of people. Even though many low-cost airlines attract with low prices, a flight in the high season can quickly cost several hundred euros. For a family of four this is not exactly an advantage. The cheaper option is then to travel through Central Europe to the Italian mainland and take the ferry from there. Such a trip gives you the freedom to plan by yourself and not to have to orientate on times and dates like with the popular package tours. A short stop in Milan or at the Leaning Tower in Pisa relieves the 20-hour car journey and offers further attractions, fun and unforgettable memories. However, it is best for several people to be fit to drive on such a round trip in order to take turns and give the other person a break.

Airport

Sardinia has three airports, which can be reached from Germany in about two hours. Depending on the desired destination, various airlines fly either north, east or south of Sardinia. The airports are serviced all year round and even several times during the period from May to October. However, it is most convenient to fly in January. Air Berlin, Easy Jet, Intersky, Ryanair and Tuifly are the best known (low-cost) airlines flying from Germany to Sardinia.

Fertilia (Northwest, near Alghero)

Costa Smeralda (East, Near Olbia)

Elmas (South, near Cagliari)

Car & Ferry

Similar to the topic of airports, there are mainly three cities that are served from the Italian mainland Sardinia. A crossing takes 7-8 hours on average, depending on how many stops you make, from which starting point you start and which final destination you have chosen. There are also crossings from France, the eastern part of Spain and the Balearic Islands and parts of North Africa, but the most popular departure points are :

Genoa

Livorno

Civitavecchia

A trip from Germany varies from the starting point, but you should be prepared for a minimum driving time of 20 hours by car. Therefore, one should be well prepared for such a trip concerning provisions, water, alternating drivers and overnight accommodations on the way. Predominantly at night, the following harbour cities are approached. In advance one should decide for a place in the north, east or south, so that one only comes out on the right side of Sardinia!

Olbia

Porto Torres

Golfo Aranci

Arbatax

Cagliari

Accommodations: Hotel, cottage & camping – where to stay?

The questions of all questions when planning your holiday. What kind of accommodation do I book? Where exactly will I stay? Rather close to the beach or more central in the city centre? Nowadays there are more offers than sand at the sea, that’s why it is so difficult to find the right one. Especially when you try to please everybody. “Daddy, I need WLAN to stay connected with my friends” or “Honey, is there a big pool and maybe a massage so I can relax in the hotel? The choice of accommodation doesn’t just make you doubt.

That’s why we have searched for the best hotels for your next luxury holiday, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of camping together.

The best hotels – Insider tips for Sardinia

The most popular places for a stay in Sardinia are mainly near the sights and the beaches. Cala Goloritze, Sant Antioco and Porto Istana are the top places where there are numerous hotels. The prices therefore vary according to the place. In the north in Olbia and near the luxury harbour Porto Cervo one has to expect more expensive hotels, because the high society is more likely to stay there. Very nice hotels with a pool and not far from the sea can be found in Sardinia like sand at the sea. But if you want to dig a little deeper into your pocket and want to have a luxury holiday with direct beach proximity or even access to the sea, with great service, with top facilities and rooms that look like from the catalogue, then you’ve come to the right place.

These are the top 5 beach hotels in Sardinia:

Valle dell’Erica Resort Thalasso & SPA

Hotel Relax Torreruja Thalasso & SPA

Cala Di Volpe

Hotel Resort & SPA Le Dune

Hotel Gabbiano Azzurro

Holiday flats & holiday homes

Sardinia offers a wide variety of holiday accommodation. From holiday homes to bungalows or luxury villas with all kinds of accessories, you can find everything. Have you ever thought about renting a bungalow directly by the sea? A small house for you and your family with a permanent view of the sea. Sleep problems? The direct sound of the sea lets you fall asleep without any problem and the proximity to the beach gives you more freedom in your schedule.

Villa, beach house or country house – the choice is huge. What is the best option? That is individually left to everyone. While in a country house one is rather remote and has to plan more time to the sea, the beach house with its ideal location offers perfect possibilities to save time. But this is no reason to write off the country house! The wide location also brings with it peace and quiet, so you won’t disturb anyone during barbecue evenings with loud music, singing, dancing and laughter until the early morning hours. From the equipment these offer mostly also more.

Camping at the sea Sardinia

The typical camping destination is not Sardinia as the “European version of the Caribbean”, is it? You were wrong there! In the east of the island there are a lot of campsites, but you can also find them all over the island. There are family-friendly camps with animation for children as well as quiet places close to nature.

It is not possible to go to the island completely alone with the motorhome. The ferry is mainly from the cities of Livorno or Genoa, which are located on the Italian mainland. The crossing takes 9 hours and ends in Olbia. There are also enough of 5 star campsites in Sardinia. The so-called “glamping“, which is actually glamorous camping, is more similar to holidays in a bungalow or lodge tent.

However, wild camping is forbidden in Sardinia, as the risk of forest fires is relatively high in summer and has been polluted by humans in the past.

Camping is probably not everyone’s cup of tea. For some, the advantages of a holiday close to nature are the main focus. Others, on the other hand, are very fussy when they sleep 11 months in their comfortable orthopaedic mattresses and then the camp bed doesn’t seem as comfortable as the king-size bed in the hotel. Here we have briefly summarized for you what the advantages and disadvantages of camping are.

Advantages:

In the middle of nature

cheaper alternative to hotel

More comfortable for children and four-legged friends (nobody complains about the volume)

Freedom: not bound by time and place

greater social interaction with other families, campers

Cons:

Toilets and showers

Vermin

no 100% relaxation like in a hotel; shopping, cooking, washing under more difficult conditions

very popular camping sites: crowded, not quiet, annoying neighbours
