The start date has already been set: February 15, 2024 at 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben and Joyn.

What will be new at GNTM 2024?

After Vivien became the first plus-size model to win in 2023 (you can watch the video of the final below), the upcoming 19th season of the show promises to be even more diverse. The casting is open to all genders for the first time, and height or weight no longer play a role. Filming is already in full swing.

There is also particular excitement about contestant Tracy from the last season, who is getting a second chance. The start date has already been set: the show kicks off on February 15, 2024 at 8.15 pm on ProSieben and Joyn. The theme song, newly recorded by Heidi Klum and DJ Tiesto, promises to perfectly capture the mood of the show. Be there for the exciting 19th season of “Germany’s Next Topmodel”!

Heidi Klum sent all GNTM fans into a frenzy when she released the first exclusive glimpse of the eagerly awaited 19th season of “Germany’s Next Topmodel” before Christmas! The model boss herself unveiled the exciting first trailer on her Instagram account, getting fans’ anticipation to the max.

The trailer itself is a visual masterpiece and perfectly captures the magic of GNTM 2024. In an impressive monochrome look, Heidi Klum poses in front of the camera with cool sunglasses and shows that she is still the undisputed queen of the catwalk.

The exciting thing, however, is that the trailer not only shows the female contestants, but also provides a glimpse of the male models for the upcoming season for the first time. However, the identity of the candidates still remains a secret, as their faces are cleverly concealed in the silhouettes. This revelation promises an exciting and diverse 19th season of GNTM!

Around 20,000 young girls apply for GNTM every year. From that moment on, the jury sorts them out.

1. Who would have the best chances in the fashion industry?
2. Who fulfills the tasks best?
3. Who is undergoing the strongest development?

The jury uses criteria like these to decide who stays on the casting show and who has to leave. But that doesn’t mean that the average 2.38 million viewers have to be of the same opinion. There are countless candidates who have become successful on the casting show even without reaching first place. Whether it was someone else who saw the talent in the GNTM contestant or whether she fought her way to the top herself, there are various examples. The first season of the casting show “Germany’s Next Top Model” was broadcast in 2006. The first winner, who is still very successful today, was Lena Gercke. Sarina Nowak: Curvy Model Idol

Barbara Meier: Now lives in Vienna

Winner Season 16: Alex Mariah Peter

On May 27, 2021, transgender model Alex Mariah Peter was chosen by Heidi Klum as Germany’s new top model. But after the victory, it became a little quieter around Alex. There followed some posts of the 23-year-old on her Instagram account, in addition, she also got herself a job for Kylie Jenner, but you did not really get much from the supermodel. But as she now announced via Instagram story, she currently does not feel comfortable in her own body. Winner Season 3: Jennifer Hof

Germany’s Next Topmodel contestant and winner Jennifer Hof was the youngest candidate in the third season. The then 16 year old schoolgirl stood out mainly because of her size. Jennifer is 1.81 meters tall and has legs that are 1.13 meters long. She was able to impress the jury with her performance in the casting show and was crowned the winner of the third season of GNTM. As the winner of the third season of Germany’s Next Topmodel, she was signed by the model agency IMG Models for two years and after her victory, she was featured in the fashion shows of Talbot Runhof, Philipp Plein, Marcel Ostertag and Perret Schaad. 6 years after her successful participation in GNTM, the model announced that she was ending her career as a model and is now a mother of two.

Unlike in seasons 1 and 2, in which model Heidi Klum sat on the jury of Germany’s Next Topmodel together with model agent Peyman Amin and model Bruce Darnell, casting director Rolf Schneider took Bruce’s place, as he left GNTM to take over his own TV show. Boris Entrup left the jury just one season later, but was still given guest appearances in which he gave the models make-up and hairstyle tips. Instead, fashion designer Rolf Schneider joined the jury.

The second season of Germany’s Next Topmodel with Barbara Maier, Anni Wendler and Hanna Nitsche

In the end, Barbara Maier, Anni Wendler and Hanna Nitsche made it to the final. This year there were two star appearances. One was by none other than Marquess and the other was by the then very popular girl group Monrose. In the end, the jury decided in favor of the pretty, red-haired Barbara Maier. As a result of her victory, the second up-and-coming model, just like first winner Lena Gercke, received a small car, a contract with IMG Models and Face your Brand, and she was featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan shortly afterwards. In addition, there was a C&A advertising campaign.

The victory in the second season of GNTM was the starting point of a mega career for Barbara Meier: The beauty is still extremely successful as a model and actress. She stood in front of the camera for brands like Pantene Pro-V and C&A and even had a cooperation with the fashion magazine Vogue. For her acting career, she trained at the New York Film Academy and has since appeared in many different television and film productions.

But also Hanna Nitsche got a contract with IMG Models and is successful photo and catwalk model, as well as her media presence is very much in demand, among other things, she was in a music video of the music band Marquess was seen. After that she moved to New York to really take off. While Anni Wendler as second place unfortunately went out of the show without a win. Also Fiona Erdmann, the fourth placed, who was eliminated one episode before the final, got a contract with MGM Models and is now a successful model. Mandy Graff, who also placed fourth, got a contract with East West Models and is a successful presenter in her home country, Luxembourg. Eighth-placed Aneta Tober was accepted by the model agency Mia Models and wants to take off internationally! Even Janina Cüpper, who came in 12th place, dropped out of her biology studies with an intermediate diploma to become a successful model and presenter instead.

Winner Season 4: Sara Nuru

Sara Nuru, Mandy Bork and Marie Nasemann made it to the finals. Germany’s Next Topmodel contestant Sara Nuru not only took part in the eighth season of the popular casting show, but stood out from more than 18,000 applicants, making Sara the first black contestant to win the casting show in 2009. After winning Germany’s Next Topmodel, the then 19-year-old student became the face of the new campaigns of the clothing company C&A and the cosmetics company Maybelline Jade. She also appeared on the cover of the August issue of the German-language lifestyle magazine Cosmopolitan. Together with Heidi Klum and the other two finalists, Sara Nuru shot a commercial for the fast food chain Mc Donalds. After her victory at GNTM Sara ran on many different shows in London, Milan, New York City and at the Berlin Fashion Week. Designers or fashion labels she works for include Guido Maria Kretschmer, Gant, Cesar Galindo NY, Custo Barcelona and Roberto Cavalli. Since 2018, the German model has been an ambassador for sustainable development for the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Simone Kowalski – The winner of the 14th season of GNTM. She received a model contract with the model agency Oneeins fab Manmagement under the direction of Heidi Klum’s father, as well as prize money of 100,00 euros. The highlight: she adorned the German June/July issue of Harper’s Bazaar. But what distinguishes the winner? The answer is quite clear: the smile is her trademark, which is why she also calls herself “Simi Shine”. But she was not really happy after her victory, as confirmed by her cryptic lines under her Instagram post in which she spoke of mental slavery.
