Cäcilia Zimmer Interview: Career as a model, animal welfare & GNTM

Cäcilia Zimmer Interview – Cäcilia participated in the 14th season of Germany’s Next Topmodel and fought for the GNTM title. She even made it to the finals. In this interview, the model tells us a lot about her life as a model and social media personality. In addition, Cäcilia tells us something about her animal welfare project.

The pressure on social media is increasing

FIV: Hello Cäcilia, glad it worked out with the interview. You have a great reach on social media. With that notoriety comes both positive and negative aspects. Among other things, criticism. How great is the pressure in the business to always be “perfect”? What’s the best way to deal with that?

Cäcilia: The pressure on social media is increasing. It’s very important to find a balance and methods for yourself to deal with it better. The most important thing is not to compare ourselves. Many things we see on social media do not correspond to reality, are edited or have several filters over them.

Tips: handle pressure better on social media

Cäcilia: The best thing is to always stay true to yourself and not try to be someone else. Authenticity is the be-all and end-all. You have to realize that no one is perfect and that behind every photo, no matter how beautiful, there is a real person with problems, rough edges and corners. Skin is retouched, curves are staged, and hair is voluminized. When you realize that, you start to stay with yourself and not compare yourself with others.

Cäcilia reveals her favorite travel destinations

FIV: On social media, you share impressions of wonderful trips like Egypt with your followers. What was your most beautiful trip so far and which experience do you still remember fondly?

Cäcilia: I am very grateful to have been able to see so much of the world at such a young age. This includes my favorite places Bali and Egypt. In Bali, I was inspired by the spirituality and warmth of the people. Riding my Vespa through the beautiful streets of Bali, feeling the warm wind on my skin and jumping into the sea at sunset. I remember that very fondly. It is definitely my goal sooner or later to live by the sea.

GNTM has changed Cäcilia’s life

FIV: You owe your fame, among other things, to your participation in GNTM. You took part in GNTM in 2016 and came third. Since then, you’ve been a successful model and active on social media. How has your life changed since you took part in GNTM?

Cäcilia: My life has changed completely since I took part in GNTM. I have taken a big step towards my dream future. Doors have been opened for me to be able to live my dream. Even as a child I dreamed of being on stage, in front of the camera, modeling and becoming successful. GNTM has allowed me to be a part of that and has brought me a little closer to my dream. Nevertheless, I am still at the beginning of my career. There are many things planned and I have big goals in mind.

Tips for aspiring models

FIV: Soon the new season of GNTM will start, what tips do you have for the aspiring candidates?

Cäcilia: The most important thing is to stay authentic and not try to be someone else, always keep the goal in mind and always give 200%. Have fun with it and don’t be afraid. Things always come the way they are supposed to. Be aware that even if you don’t make it to the end, be proud that you dared to do it at all and be grateful for the experience!

Cäcilia’s own animal welfare project

FIV: Besides being a model and social media personality, you are very involved in animal welfare and founded your own animal welfare project. How exactly did that come about?

Cäcilia: I am so infinitely grateful that I am able to take this step and help the animals with my reach. In the summer of 2020, after my dog died with whom I grew up, I decided directly to adopt a dog from animal welfare, because I was always aware that the animal suffering is bad. During the search I realized how bad the whole thing is, how many animals suffer, starve or are mistreated. That’s when I decided to help and change something. It is a huge task and an enormous responsibility. But we, the Animal Project Crew, will do everything we can to give as many animals as possible a better future.

Short outlook into future projects

FIV: Finally, a short look into the future, we are curious what you have planned in the near future: Do you have big plans like a move or something similar or is there something special coming up? Give us a little teaser of what your fans and followers can look forward to in the near future!

Cäcilia: There are a lot of things in the pipeline. Now that I’m finally self-employed and can do everything I dream of, I’m more motivated than ever. I am a very spontaneous person and love to live in different cities. My journey has just begun and I will do everything I can to get to my destination. Thank you for the questions. It was a lot of fun.
