Liliana Maxwell in interview: About her time at GNTM, her model career & social media

Interview Liliana – After participating in the 16th season of Germany’s Next Topmodel, Liliana Maxwell has launched a successful career as a model and on social media. In an interview with our magazine, the beauty talks about her time on GNTM, which contestants she’s still in touch with and which brands she definitely wants to work for one day. Liliana also talks about her modeling job for Rihanna’s brands “Fenty X Savage” and “Fenty Beauty,” what being a role model means to her, social media, her style and her plans for the future.

GNTM has brought Liliana further as a person

FIV: Hello Liliana, how nice that it worked out with the interview today. You took part in the 16th season of GNTM this year and have been working successfully as a model ever since. How has your life changed since you took part in GNTM?

Liliana: First of all, I am very grateful for my time on GNTM! It has brought me further as a person and I could grow mentally as well as psychologically. Also, I managed to come out of myself and I was able to realize my potential and last but not least, it gave me friends for life.

With these GNTM Girl she has contact until today!

FIV: Do you have fond memories of your time on GNTM and are you still in contact with the other contestants?

Liliana: I always remember the GNTM time with the girls! I even lived with Larissa in Berlin right after the show! Larissa and I always like to reminisce and talk about the good times! I finally found my own apartment at 21. My award is right above the TV and I am very proud! With Marriah I always FaceTime because she is never at home and always traveling! Otherwise, we always see each other when she visits Berlin!

Liliana has already modeled for Rihanna

FIV: You are very successful as a model and have already had a shoot for Nylon Magazine and have also walked at Fashion Week. Is there a designer or brand you would like to model for one day?

Liliana: Before GNTM I always said Rihanna’s brand “Savage X Fenty”! And thank God this year I finally worked with both of Riri’s brands! Both “Savage X Fenty” and “Fenty Beauty.” For this year, I have a lot of brands in mind that I would love to work with! I would say my favorites are definitely Team Wang, Jacquemus or Bottega Venetta! Cause we are dreaming and working hard big this year!

This is what being a role model means for Liliana

FIV: For many of your followers you are a role model. Do you have a role model yourself, especially in the modeling business or in the fashion world, who inspires you?

Liliana: I definitely have people that inspire me and that I admire, but because I used to misunderstand and misinterpret the definition of “role model”, I’m still searching to understand what a role model is or how to be a role model and I’m trying to be a role model for myself first.

This is how the model deals with social media

FIV: You are in the public eye and are active on social media as a social media personality. How great is the pressure in the business to always be “perfect”? What is the best way to deal with it?

Liliana: I’m not a big social media person myself! I post and I’m out again!

Liliana: I always try to remind myself that the real world is outside and social media is social media! It’s important to find the balance so you don’t lose yourself in it!

Fashion: Liliana’s cool style

FIV: Many people love you for your cool style. Where do you get inspiration for your looks?

If you ask me something about my style, I would say it depends on how I feel! My style depends on my mood! My style is never predictable! Some people think that I am a girly girly, or should be! I say FUCK DAT! Why should I choose only one style when I can do all! I would describe myself as a “girly tomboy”! My style is the representation of myself, where I grew up, who I am and how I was raised! I am a Nigerian who was born in Italy, raised in Nigeria, live in Germany and speak Korean. ITS THE DIVERSITY FOR ME! Even if you can’t speak or advocate for yourself, let your outfit speak for you. Some days I rock an outfit and some high heels! Other days I’m your man crush cause I’m a lil sus! That’s the beauty of fashion: you can be who you want to be, when you want to be, and how you want to be.

FIV: Finally, a short look into the future, we are curious what you have planned in the near future: Do you have big plans like a move or something similar or is there something special coming up? Give us a little teaser of what your fans and followers can look forward to in the near future!

Liliana: There is definitely a lot coming up! My head is working and spinning 24/7 and I have many ideas in my head! From music, acting, to shows, not only in Germany, but also in my home country!(Nigeria) You can already pray for me that I am as physically motivated and ambitious as my head!!!
