The passion for a product in design is Cari Zalloni, whose eyewear designs became a cult in the 80s. A visionary who revolutionized eyewear design and created trends like no other, which were far ahead of their time. He created an extraordinary style that polarized and that continues to captivate his fans to this day. CAZAL shaped the typical hip hop look of the 80s like no other brand. Some of the legendary designs from this time are still setting the tone today. Glasses that were affectionately given the pet name “Cazzy” by their fans. The creative genius of charismatic designer Cari Zalloni lives on today after his unexpected death in 2012. Following his inspiration, his design team continues to create a collection that makes its mark and makes his signature immortal.

CAZAL Eyewear – Exclusive show of work

The famous design museum in the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich is showing an exhibition of CAZAL’s work in connection with its influences on pop culture.

On July 12 at 5 p.m. the exhibition will be opened in the Futuro Haus next to the Pinakothek der Moderne. Afterwards, a talk on the topic “CAZAL & Counterculture” will take place in the Amerikahaus. Guests will be Johan Kugelberg, lecturer and archivist at Cornell University in New York, DJ Supreme, CAZAL aficionado from Seattle and Harald Böttcher, former owner and managing director of CAZAL and son of the company founder. The event will be moderated by exhibition curator Sven Christ. As part of the Kunstarealfest, a block party will take place on Sunday, July 14, as it was celebrated in the Bronx in the early 80s. A mix of Jamaican sound systems, rap, hip-hop, disco and funk awaits the guests.
