Our experience at 25Hours The Circle: Check-In, Stay & Co!
Once arrived, it’s time for the check-in! It’s only a few minutes from the main train station to the hotel and suddenly you’re standing in front of it: A gigantic round building with over ten floors – the hotel is huge and is considered one of the tallest buildings in Cologne’s city centre. This also gives you a unique view, not only from your room, but also from the restaurant and the rooftop bar! Absolute eye-catcher: The small water ponds on the left and right at the entrance to the foyer. In a relaxed atmosphere, you can let the hotel take effect on your arrival:
Once again through the revolving door, briefly through the check-in and there it is! The futuristic elevator that I’ve seen at least 100 times on Instagram:

Monkey Bar with Rooftop & Restaurant NENI
Now I want to take you to the view that I promised you in the introduction! The hotel is one of the highest buildings in the city center of Cologne and therefore you have a unique view over the old town, the cathedral and the Mediapark – virtually over the whole of Cologne!
On one side you will find the famous Money Bar with rooftop, on the other side the restaurant NENI. You can not only have breakfast with a really exclusive view over Cologne, but also enjoy a few drinks at the bar in the evening and end the day in a relaxed way. Perfect after a long tour through the city! And w henhen you’re not enjoying the view, you can also work in the lounge or have a coffee with friends.
Shopping and sightseeing
I was also in Cologne for work and so I got a few insider tips for you, directly from our editorial office, here in Cologne! Let’s start with what everyone loves: shopping!
Shopping tips in Cologne and popular shopping streets
Looking for the best shops and shopping streets in Cologne? Then you should definitely go to the city centre. The biggest shopping street is the Schildergasse. Here you can find everything from Zara and H&M to flagship stores of Apple and Nespresso. Around this big shopping street you will of course find many small alleys, small shopping arcades and of course luxury boutiques.
Must-See! The historic Cologne Cathedral
What you should definitely see as a tourist is the Cologne Cathedral. If you arrive by train, you will find it right next to the main station. Especially the size of the cathedral, as well as its gothic architecture invite you to marvel. At the same time, you immediately ask yourself how something so big could have been built so early? After all, the cathedral is over 800 years old. Tip. If possible, visit the cathedral on weekdays and in the early hours, not in the afternoon or on weekends. Here, the city center is absolutely crowded.
Tip: Weekdays are perfect for a trip to Cologne’s landmark!
Walking along the Rhine: Chocolate Museum & Rheinauhafen
Going for a walk? Sounds boring at first, but it’s beautiful on the Rhine! Here you have the historic architecture, old merchant houses, restaurants, the many ships for tourists that dock here and of course highlights like the chocolate museum, the Rheinauhafen but also RTL, the TV station that everyone knows. For example, from the main station you can walk perfectly over the cathedral to the chocolate museum and Rheinauhafen in the Südstadt. Here is a short route for you!
Real Cologne neighbourhoods: The best hotspots!
If you want to experience the real Cologne, then you should definitely visit the Belgian Quarter and Südstadt. But also Nippes is really nice and relatively easy to reach. Here you will find the real Cologne life.
- Belgian Quarter
- South Town
- Nippes
By the way, you can easily walk to the Belgian Quarter. It will take you about 5 minutes. Tip! Around the Brüsseler Platz you will find great little cafes, restaurants and boutiques.
Conclusion: Two Days in 25 hours
I was in Cologne just to plan the new Fashion Week dates but, I experienced so much more! From shopping in the city center to a short trip to the cathedral to a walk along the Rhine – Cologne has so much to offer. And with the 25Hours Hotel, I had the perfect place to stay. The staff was very accommodating, the architecture and interior design unique and the rooms clean, aesthetic and spacious. Not to mention probably the most photographed elevator on Instagram! Whether it’s a business trip or a holiday with the family – the 25Hours meets all requirements.
Our rating 5/5 stars!
