A social club in Spain is a private members’ club where adults are allowed to consume cannabis together. Hardly recognizable from the outside, you usually need a tip from someone or find them – as here – in our recommendations. When you arrive: simply knock on the door in a friendly manner, show your ID and become a member. This costs between 20 and 40 euros once.

Inside, you can often expect a relaxed atmosphere with a lounge area, Wi-Fi, music and sometimes even a small café. Weed in Madrid – what is allowed?

In Spain, cannabis is decriminalized for personal use. Consumption is permitted in private rooms – this also includes the closed rooms of a social club. You are therefore allowed to consume, but not in public. Possession in public spaces is also not permitted – you should bear this in mind when leaving the club. Membership only protects you within the club.

Important: Tourists can legally become members, but only for private consumption in the club. No resale, no consumption on the street. Always have your ID with you – and it is better to remain discreet.
