Self-doubt through social media

FIV: You have a great reach on social media. With that notoriety comes both positive and negative aspects. Among other things, criticism. How great is the pressure in the business to always be “perfect”? What’s the best way to deal with it?

Alicija: Personally, I’m a very perfectionistic person, which is good on the one hand but also brings its downsides…most of the time I stand in my own way and my chances. Last year I struggled a lot with my self-doubt and with my body. I was just comparing myself. Which actually also made me sick.

Social media spreads false impressions

Alicija: In the social media world, it seems like everything is just perfect, beautiful and THAT is the REAL life. When you watch influencers building a house, starting a family, getting married, doing sports and eating healthy, you forget to see yourself. You immerse yourself in another world and forget your own. His own needs, his own body. Just because a certain lifestyle applies to someone and they share their experience (unaware of what it may do to others) doesn’t mean it will work for you and your body. You may be inspired by it but not want to make it completely your own. We have completely forgotten to listen to ourselves because we are too busy showing people a false world (which is actually insane).

Alicija’s experience with perfectionism

Alicija: In the meantime, I have reached a point where I can talk about it (even if it is still difficult). I actually want to share my experiences, only my perfectionism comes into play again. I’m working on that though and it’s getting better and better. For the year, I’ve resolved to be more myself, listen to my heart, and whenever I think no one might like it, upload or share it all the more.

GNTM has completely changed Alicija’s life

FIV: You owe your fame to GNTM, among other things. You participated in GNTM in 2019 and came in 5th place. Since then, you’ve been a successful model and active on social media. How has your life changed since you took part in GNTM?

Alicija : It has indeed changed completely. If someone had told me that earlier, I wouldn’t have been able to believe it myself.

Alicija does not abandon her fans

Alicija: After I applied for GNTM, I roughly knew that it was about “modeling,” but I had no idea about social media. So I dived into the social media world without knowing how it really works. Even today I ask myself if it is the right thing for me. Of course, you don’t abandon such a “gift” of reach and your “fans”, yet I realize that I just ( precisely because Instagram, for example, has changed so much) no longer agree with my inner values and those that Instagram embodies. Accordingly, I try to share my values that are important to me with my followers.

GNTM: Modeling is a nightmare

FIV: Has modeling always been your dream job? If so, since when?

Alicija : I loved the idea of walking the catwalks of the world, working with different designers, traveling, meeting new people and getting beautiful photos. However, that didn’t really hit home for me personally after GNTM. Reality looks different than it is portrayed in the show. I had to make the experience of not being good enough, not being thin enough and not being tall enough. Thus, the former dream job of modeling became an actual nightmare, after you were allowed to kiss the sky of all that in GNTM.

Tips for participation in GNTM

FIV: Soon the new season of GNTM will start, what tips do you have for the aspiring candidates?

Alicija: Enjoy absolutely every second that you can be there, enjoy the time with the other girls. Be grateful to be able to travel and have such an experience. Just go with it and listen to yourself. If your heart says it’s not the right thing to do, then stop. Not everyone is made for this psychological pressure and you will feel better in the end even if everyone else says otherwise. If you feel good about it, give 100%, push yourself and be nice to everyone else.

Tips: Perfect interior design

FIV: You also attach great importance to order and a beautifuly decorated home. Do you have any tips for the perfect interior design?

Alicija : I love interior, when decorating I can actually live quite well. There is no “perfect” interior. Look at what you feel comfortable with, collect ideas and create small vision/mood boards. Don’t buy on impulse, take your time and think twice or three times. Order is half the battle, but even there I know that not everyone can do it and everyone has their own order. All I can say is that I feel more comfortable in a tidy home than in a messy one.

Outlook for Alicija’s future

FIV: Finally, a short look into the future, we are curious what you have planned in the near future: Do you have big plans like a move or something similar or is there something special coming up? Give us a little teaser of what your fans and followers can look forward to in the near future!

Alicija : This year I plan to travel a lot, generate new experiences for myself and grow mentally. To do more what I enjoy and to pursue my work with more ease. As I mentioned in the beginning, I would actually like to invite my followers to pay more attention to themselves again. I have a little Detox Thursday in mind, where you put your phone away, do something for yourself, spend time with your family and friends and maybe take a picture of it and send it to me. The idea is not yet fully developed, but I just want to encourage people to do something for themselves and not to participate in building a house, planning a family, or going to the gym, but to live their lives and shape them themselves.

Elena Kilb: GNTM, Model & Training at the Bank

In addition to her successful participation and subsequent victory as Miss Southern Germany, Elena has experienced a lot more. Elena participated in the casting show Germany’s next Topmodel after her victory as Miss Southern Germany. She participated in the 11th season and reached the 6th place. As a model, Elene has shot many cool campaigns, including for the sports brand Fila. Despite her job as a model, Elena has started an apprenticeship at the bank, which she has successfuly pursued since last year.

Elena’s exciting life as a model

FIV: Hello Elena, how nice that it worked out with the interview today. Not only are you a model and active on social media, but you also work at the bank. How do you manage to reconcile all that?

Elena: Thank you very much, I am happy about your interest in an interview with me. I just like to be always on the go. For about a year I’m not really active in modeling and social media, of course that has a lot to do with Corona.

Currently Elena is involved in many projects

But I have other projects on the run, in which I rather behind and not in front of the camera mitwirke. I can not reveal too much right now, but I’m looking forward to take my followers soon again. In addition, I have a great boss in the bank, so the two things can be combined super.

Participation in GNTM again?

FIV: You owe your fame to GNTM, among other things. You came seventh in GNTM in 2016, would you take part in GNTM again today and which experiences from your GNTM time do you still remember fondly?

Elena: I would immediately take part in GNTM again! It was a very exciting, cool and intense time. There is no particular experience that I think back to. All the memories and the time with the girls was indescribable, we were like a family, I miss that time very much.

Elena reveals how to become a successful model

FIV: You have been working as a model for several years now and have been able to stand in front of the camera for various brands and designers. What has been your best experience as a model so far?

Elena: Through GNTM I had the opportunity to participate in so many cool jobs and events. But I still love the catwalk jobs the most. The thrill before you go out and then stand outside and don’t want to leave the catwalk. Recently I walked again for Astrid Söll, I love Dirndl itself already, but she puts with her style again a notch on it.

Become successful in the fashion business

FIV: What do you think is more important to be successful in the modeling business: Luck or discipline?

Elena: With something like the model business, it goes hand in hand. You need a lot of discipline but also a bit of luck to become successful.

Because of her job, the model travels a lot

Elena travels a lot as a model for her photo shoots and has already traveled to many places in the world and experienced a lot there. We asked Elena what her next vacation destination is.

Elena’s next destination is….

FIV: As a model you have to travel a lot, of course, but you also love to travel in your private life. On Instagram you share pictures of your wonderful trips, like your trips to Croatia and St.Anton. Would you say traveling is a great passion of yours and is there a place you would definitely like to travel to?

Elena: Traveling has also been a bit short lately due to Corona, but I hope to hit the ground running again starting next year. A few of my friends have emigrated to Costa Rica and that is definitely my next travel destination.

FIV: Finally, a short look into the future, we are curious what you have planned in the near future: Do you have big plans like a move or something similar or is there something special coming up? Give us a little teaser of what your fans and followers can look forward to in the near future!

Elena: As mentioned above, I’m working with a super team on a new project. Hopefully I can report about it soon and also be active on Instagram again. Modeling in Los Angeles: what are you missing?

FIV: A few years ago you made a conscious decision to emigrate to the US. After that you started a career, which probably few expected at the time, and yet you have become a very successful, self-confident curvy model. What do you miss most about Germany?

Sarina: I miss my family and friends the most. I haven’t been to Germany for a while now and of course travelling is quite difficult at the moment. I also miss the German bread, haha. You just don’t find that here in the US!

Successful in America: Fashion Business in the USA

FIV: You’ve already had a few years of experience in the American fashion business. What is the biggest difference between Germany and the USA, i.e. Los Angeles, in terms of modeling?

Sarina: I have to say that the Curve Market has developed and established itself much faster in the US than in Germany. The people here are much more open and welcome you faster. I just wish that at some point it will be a matter of course that every brand also produces large sizes.

Size, Measurements & Model Type: The Differences

FIV: Surely there are differences in size, measurements & model type in the fashion cities in Europe and the US. Do you have the feeling that you are more successful as a curvy model in the US than in Germany?

Sarina: When I got my first bigger jobs for Sports Illustrated or Good American with Khloe Kardashian in the US, the interest of German brands, as well as TV shows, increased enormously. In addition, the curve market was only just beginning in Germany at that time. For that reason, it’s hard for me to assess. BUT there are definitely more opportunities in the US than Curvy Model, that’s for sure.

Return to Germany?

FIV: Have you ever thought about returning to Germany?

Sarina: Yes, I have often thought about that… But to be honest, at the moment I don’t know where I want to live someday. What I do know, though, is that I won’t live in Los Angeles forever. We’ll see what the future brings.

Body Positivity! Self-confidence and courage

FIV: Body positivity is a big topic on social media. You also convey self-confidence and courage on Instagram and in your book. Through this you have become a role model for many women and young girls. But again and again you read that especially the fashion industry has difficulties with change. In your opinion, has the fashion industry changed in recent years? If yes, do you find this change positive/negative?

Sarina: The fashion industry has changed enormously in recent years and for the better! Of course, even today there are still some who have not understood it and probably never will. However, there is clearly a positive trend. With my followers it is very similar… There are always some who have something to complain about.

Crass. This is how people react on Instagram

An example: I recently posted a photo in a figure-hugging dress that showed off my curves well. Almost half of the comments were from people (mostly German!) who were negative about my body. I don’t get involved in that, of course, but I was still a little shocked. What are these people thinking, judging another person like this? Why? I’ll never understand. If you don’t have anything nice to say, you should just shut up. We should respect, encourage and love each other.

FIV: A lot has changed since your slim beginnings as a model on TV. What was your best experience as a model so far, or what was the most interesting job for you?

Dancing on Ice, Sports Illustrated, Good America…

Sarina: My participation in Dancing on Ice at the beginning of 2019 is definitely one of my most beautiful experiences as a model and was also my biggest challenge. I am very grateful for this time, because I learned a lot, especially about myself. Meanwhile, I pushed my limits and I think it’s admirable how much you can achieve in a short time if you really want it and work hard for it. And to mention some other great jobs – Sports Illustrated, Good American or Forever21 in Time Square were also very cool experiences.

“My grandma is my role model”

FIV: Which person you have met so far have you been particularly impressed with and why?

Sarina: My biggest role model will always be my beautiful grandma. She made me the person I am today. My grandma had the sweetest heart and the purest soul. She was an incredibly positive person. Even when she wasn’t feeling well, she always had a smile on her face.

Next: Actress in Hollywood? Coming up!

FIV: You live in Hollywood, the perfect place to start an acting career. Will we soon see you on screen as well as magazine covers?

Sarina: Since August 2019 I have been attending an acting school in New York. There, very intensive training awaited me every day, which is why I decided to move to NY. In the beginning, I was still commuting to LA every 2 weeks for work. However, all the traveling took so much out of me that I decided to move back to LA, not least because of the Covid19 crisis. My studies are all digital at the moment. But to answer your question, YES, that would be my dream and it is one of my goals!

FIV: Finally, I would be interested in one more thing: If you could change one thing in the world in one second, what would it be?

Sarina: I’ll answer that question with my favorite saying:

If humans had hearts as big as dogs, the world would be a better place!

Kasia Lenhardt (†25) young mother, found dead

Only a few months ago Kasia told us how she would like to make a backpacker trip around Asian. But on 09 February 2021, the 25 year old was found lifeless in her apartment. A news in which we are at a loss for words. What Kasia had to go through in the last few days is unimaginable. A breakup with publication of private messages and intimate details, from her ex-boyfriend Boateng, made it hard for her. She had to fight against harsh bullying in the social media.

We wish the family and friends much strength during this difficult time.

Formative trip to Paris and backpacker trip

FIV: Hey Kasia I’m glad you found the time to do an interview with me. Looking at your Instagram feed you always seem to be in beautiful places and above all you are very sporty. Tell us what was the most beautiful trip you ever took?

Kasia: It’s hard to say, because I have already made many great trips. But the most beautiful and formative was when I was alone in Paris. There is something very mystical about travelling alone.

Asia soon? New travel destinations as a mom

FIV: There are many beautiful places in the world and much to discover. Which destination would you like to travel to?

Kasia: There are a few, but I am mainly interested in Bali and some regions around Asia and Indonesia. I would like to do a backpacker trip, where I carry only the bare necessities with me and the focus is entirely on my surroundings.

FIV: You are also a mum, does your son always come along on your trips?

Kasia: That always varies. Of course, I try to have him with me on most trips. However, since I share Noan’s upbringing with his dad, he is often with his dad too.

Nutrition and a lot of discipline: recipe for success

FIV: You are a role model for many young girls. How do you find the time to do sports and what motivates you?

Kasia:

I love to play sports and exercise!

It’s the best way for me to unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. When people ask me how I integrate regular gym visits into my everyday life, my answer is always: Plan the sports sessions into your daily routine! Sometimes that means getting up an hour earlier in the morning or doing a home workout before bed. You decide how far your discipline will take you.

Quick workout tips from Kasia!

FIV: Would you have some workout tips for our readers that have helped you a lot yourself?

Kasia: Exercise bands have helped me a lot. They fit in any bag and you can take them with you when you travel. I would also advise everyone to read up on bodyweight workouts. Then the excuse that you couldn’t make it to the gym doesn’t count anymore I also think the exercises are great and highly effective!

FIV: I’ve seen you post mostly high protein food and also prepare it yourself. What’s your favorite thing to eat after your workouts?

Favorite food? Oven vegetables, prawns, salmon, spinach

Kasia: That’s right, I try to eat a lot of protein. This way I make sure that my muscles are well supplied and their development is promoted. I’m always very hungry after a workout and prefer to eat oven vegetables, shrimp, salmon, spinach, etc. I like to serve it as a bowl and top it with lobster. Gladly dressed as a bowl and top it with hummus, feta and seeds. I love to just eat it!

Jerome Boateng: friend and football star

FIV: Your friend Jerome Boateng is a successful footballer. Sport seems to be very important in both of your lives.

Kasia: Yes, that’s true. But in Jerome’s life, sport is of course even more important than in mine. He motivates me a lot – his discipline is enviable!

(At this point, it’s worth noting that as of January 2021, Kasia Lenhardt and Jerome Boateng are officially no longer a couple).

Kasia at home! What do you do in your “everyday life as a mum

FIV: My last question would be: What’s a typical day like for you? Can it be very stressful with your son Noan?

Kasia: My everyday life is very well timed and planned. I get up around 6:00, make breakfast, take Noan to daycare and go to university. In the afternoon I pick him up again and try to do something nice with him (playground and other things that children of that age like to do).

When we’re home, I cook, do the housework, go about my jobs as an influencer and model, do a home workout if necessary, serve dinner, and then put Noan to bed. Once the little one is asleep, I study for college. On the weekends, Noan is almost always with his dad. I use this time to just switch off, or devote myself to things like studying and working. It’s a lot at the moment, but I generally “function” better when I have a lot to do and I’m also very grateful for all the opportunities that come my way.

Marc Cain: From Italy to Germany

The company was founded in 1973 by Helmut Schlotterer in Carpi, Italy. A few years later, the headquarters were moved to Bodelshausen in Baden-Württemberg, where the company is still based today. To this day, Marc Cain produces a large part of its collection there and is one of the most important employers in the region. 3D printers and radiant colours

Marc Cain attaches great importance to its knitwear, which is why it owns one of the most modern knitting machine parks in Europe. He already invested in electronically controlled knitting machines in the 1970s. In 2013, 3D Knit & Wear was introduced. Here, the garments are purely programmed in a 3D printer and a finished product comes out of the knitting machine. With digital printing, different materials such as cotton, leather or wool can be printed. Marc Cain uses its own reactive dye for this, with which particularly radiant, brilliant prints can be created. The dye does not just lie on the surface of the fibre, but forms a permanent bond with the fibre. This makes Marc Cain particularly unique.

How to build a meaningful social media?

FIV: In just a few short years, you’ve built sponsorships with luxury travel brands, traveled all over the world, and built a significant social media following. What’s your secret?

Naomi: It wasn’t just a few years ago. I started working with various Greek properties, Sailing Resorts and the Greek Tourism Board 10 years ago, mainly with Face Book Pages and writing blogs for the various outlets. I started the account on Instagram as soon as it opened to share that content, but at that point the focus was mainly on Facebook. I had already built a strong following on my Facebook page. I was lucky enough to get some advice from the owner of one of the biggest advertising agencies in Israel who suggested what I did, the name for me was a “social influencer”, this was about 5 years ago, and I should focus more on Instagram in the future. So I did….. Of course I was working full time for the Daily Mail and General Trust Group, so my travel was just within my annual leave, so my content up until 2017 was all about those trips and weekends and day trips or restaurants. I started exploring areas on my feed from my country and also shared other places I visited. Very quickly, hotels and tour operators and tourism boards contacted me to post on my feed. I wanted to share the world as I see it, I wanted each photo to make you feel like you could be the person standing there….

FIV: If we were to sum up your feed universe in one word, it would be this: paradise. What’s your favorite of all your Instagram account posts? And where do you get your inspiration from?

Naomi: Of course like everyone I see on Instagram and Pinterest that give me inspo, but I stay away from recreating it. It’s hard not to take a photo in the same spot when it gives you the best vantage point, but you won’t find Mr. in the same dress and hairstyle completely imitating someone else. Honestly, when I arrive, I move around and take lots of photos, I see what works…. I know what areas a hotel wants to highlight, the room, the social spaces like the pool, the food in the spa, so I work to create content around those areas for food and stories. When you see the camera roll, you know that’s what I want to share with my audience.

Usually there has to be a centerpiece, whether it’s an amazing view, a beautiful platter of food, there has to be something that makes someone think I have to visit this place, it’s an experience for me!

FIV: You’re part of the Top 8 Luxury Travel Instagram Page of 2017, out of all the places you’ve been around the world, what are your top 5 favorite luxury travel destinations?

FIV: Naomi, you have more than 750,000 followers today. What is the biggest challenge for you to be an influencer?

Naomi: Working in travel is very short notice, my paid jobs can come in 1 week to 4 weeks before so it’s hard for me to plan anything outside of 4 weeks which is difficult when travel needs to be planned and trying to plan and chat with clients when you’re on a trip with another client can be exhausting (which is why many travel influencers only get a few hours of sleep a night when they’re on the job).

You can’t guarantee what income will come in each month unless you have a monthly brand ambassador partnership and if you get paid (brands withholding money for 6 months, agencies closing so they don’t get paid at all) it’s the same as anyone working independently, you don’t have a guaranteed income and all the work from negotiation, offers going on and producing the work, to finishing talking to your audience and then invoicing, it’s all on you!

The trolls are obviously something everyone just has to deal with, it’s part of the job! I’ve had times where it’s gotten so bad and some of them are professionals who know how to get into you, then they can contact anyone who sends emails to your customers who send a lot of spam to your account if you don’t give them a response. But after some time you have to try, I know it’s hard, but really try not to respond.

Influencer tips: sponsored content, branded messaging, feed inspiration and followers.

FIV: As influencers and businesswomen, how do you decide which brands to work with and how do you make sure your followers are open to sponsored content?

Naomi: I promote Luxury Travel, so it’s all Luxury Travel, aside from the fact that it’s everything I use. You’ve probably heard every influencer say I only promote things that I think are authentic, and then you see 20 watches, 20 granola bars, different phone apps going down the list, on their page.

For me, there will be mote fashion collabs, anything that I wear and use obviously, like swimwear and travel products and of course all beauty and lifestyle products. The question you have to ask is if your only audience was your mother, would you sell this to her?

FIV: You have an unreadable feed! How do you make sure branded messaging is a good fit for your feed?

Naomi: I’ve always tried to do it my way! I lose a lot of paying jobs or get offered money if I change my image and I just say no. If it’s not a good fit for me, then we’re just not a good fit. Brand partnerships always work well when the brand lets the influencer share their take on how the product is presented and used. No one knows their audience better than the influencer, but the influencer and the brand also need to see if that audience is someone who wants to listen. This is where a brand should know that this is the wrong influencer for my product and also an influencer should not take the job because the product has no relevance to you or your audience.

Must have list to go on a trip

FIV: As a traveler, how do you organize your trips? And what is your must have list to go on a trip?

Naomi: A lot of them are very short notice. Nowadays, most of my trips are because someone, a hotel, an airline, a travel PR, a tourism board has contacted me and they want to work with me and then it’s a standard negotiation of dates, services, itineraries and so on, which also coincides with all the other brand work that I have to shoot on location.

I take all the standard stuff like everyone else, all my gear, cameras, chargers, etc, all the name brand shooting products, toiletries, clothes, but outside of that I always take a huge blanket when I’m on the plane! I fly a lot, too much, and it’s just something to help me sleep (like a comfort blanket from home and I can use it to wrap up if you’re going to a destination where it’s hot, but then there are those cold nights, I’ve been on a lot of flights and even with the little blanket that gives you I was freezing, so I always have my warm blanket with me in my carry-on!

Mom and Influencer: Mom Life and Video Editing

FIV: Hey Dani, we are happy to welcome you for a follow up interview. Three years have passed since the last interview with our magazine.
These 3 years ago we talked about your future plans and you said you would like to start your own family. You have fulfilled that goal. Congratulations on being a happy wife and mother. Mum and Influencer – how do you balance these two jobs?

Dani: Hello dear ones, I am very happy that I can exchange myself with you again today. Thank you so much for the opportunity. Madness, how fast 3 years have gone by and what all has happened in this time. 3 years ago I put all my eggs in one basket and quit my job to focus full time on my blog & Instagram channel.
Today I am still of the opinion that it was the best decision and probably also the best time I have had in recent years. Not only professionally, but also privately I have grown with this task and have fulfilled my desire for independence.

2 years ago we had our son Milo Noah and since then I’ve been trying to balance both jobs as best I can. Not always easy and stress-free, but you know what you’re doing it for and my heart is in both and filled with happiness. Milo’s well-being always comes first though – I love the mommy life and I’m so grateful that I get to experience it. My daily routine with two jobs usually looks like this: during the day I concentrate fully on Milo, as soon as he is asleep I sit down at the laptop and take care of the bookkeeping, emails, image editing, video editing, content submissions,… at the moment my day has far too few hours and I sometimes have to force myself to close the laptop and go to sleep.

Since a few weeks we are in the Kita-Einewöhnung, where Milo can play with children of the same age for 3 – 4 hours and I can arrange my time management a little better, so that I can also relax in the evening (which unfortunately happens far too rarely). But for the last 5 years I’ve known it no differently, back then it was my second job in a travel/event agency and now it’s everyday mum life. Nevertheless, organization & the support of my husband or my family is the A&O.

I am very grateful and also very fulfilled with what I do.

Going Offline: Family & Me-Time

FIV: Do you have your smartphone or laptop at the ready 24/7, or are there times when you are offline and stay that way to spend time with yourself and your family?

Dani: For me, family time always comes first. I specifically try to give myself this space, whether it’s working on my laptop or my mobile phone. As soon as Milo comes home from daycare, the laptop is closed and all to-dos have to wait until the evening.
I still reach for my cell phone automatically from time to time – on certain days you notice how often you unconsciously reach for your cell phone. In the meantime, however, everything has settled down quite well, so that I can keep cell phone-free time and enjoy it very much.

FIV: Two full-time jobs make for a busy day. It’s important to find some peace and not to forget yourself. Take a bath, read a book, go for a walk: What’s your favorite relaxation ritual?

Dani: I would love to have time for a good book again, but unfortunately I don’t get to do that at the moment. I don’t even manage to flip through a magazine. But I enjoy walks with our dog Lilly, walks in the woods or we go to the sea with the family. Here I definitely still have to learn and accept to take the time for such things.

FIV: Whether you’re traveling or at home, it doesn’t matter if it’s an absolute dream location or your own private bedroom. When you get up in the morning, what makes you happy?

Dani: That we are all healthy. And that we have renovated our own home with a lot of hard work, in which we feel very comfortable.

Enjoy beautiful places: Nice, New York, Miami,…New Zealand?

FIV: You have always loved to travel and visited all the cities in the world. Nice, Amsterdam, Munich, Vienna. City trips are usually pretty fast-paced, you want to see as much as possible. Now you and your husband have a third passenger on board. How is travelling with a child? Do you approach everything in a more relaxed way?

Dani: We have already been to London, Amsterdam, Denmark, Mallorca, Agadir and the Canary Islands with Milo and I must say that it was totally beautiful. Of course it is much more time-consuming and stressful at the airport/plane, but on location the time together and the experiences give so much energy. But I am also much more relaxed by Milo, if something does not work out, I do not get so involved.

You should have respect to travel with children, but do not be afraid.

FIV: On your travel list last time were New Zealand, Canada and Tokyo. Have you been able to visit any of those places in the meantime? Or/and have new places been added?

Dani: Unfortunately, I have seen many other beautiful places, but in New Zealand, Canada and Tokyo I was unfortunately not yet. Then the pregnancy came in between. Meanwhile, I would also only decide for New Zealand. We were in recent years professionally & privately very much in Europe and pregnant in New York & Miami.

Mother and fashionista: stylish street style look

FIV: You yourself have seen quite a few places in this world and have seen quite a bit in terms of fashion. London is also a real fashion metropolis.
How do you see the style of German women/men? Is there something missing here?

Dani: I think there are great dressed women and men who live their style super confidently and wear what they like. There are more and more, also through social media.
Nevertheless, a large part of society is always very insecure and worries too much about what other people think of you. I think it’s a general problem in Germany that togetherness often falls by the wayside and people care too much about what others do/wear & do.

FIV: Pregnancy makes you reacquaint yourself with topics like fashion. Would you say that your clothing style has changed as a result of being a mother? Do fashion and the perfect look still have the same importance as before?

Dani: My style hasn’t changed because of pregnancy. Even during pregnancy I didn’t just wear mom-to-be styles, but what I wanted to wear. After all, I’m not just a mom, I’m still a woman. I wear what I like, but it should still be comfortable. I love street style looks and I like to try things out. I love fashion.

A look into the future: Home sweet Home

FIV: In the last interview you wanted to dedicate the coming years to family planning. What are your plans/goals for your professional/personal future now? Anything coming up in the near future? Is there anything special coming up in our news feed?

Dani: Of course we would love to have another sibling for Milo at some point, but we have no plan and no pressure. It comes as it comes.
In general, we would like to finish the renovation of our house and arrive. We long for a day when we feel bored again.

Professionally, I have arrived at the moment and am satisfied. But I already have a few new ideas and goals that I would like to implement soon, as soon as the time is there.

FIV: How would you describe your universe and your style for people who don’t know you yet?

Justyna: My name is Justyna Czerniak. On my Instagram blog I proudly wrote that I am a mother and wife and passionately a blogger and an influencer.

I try to perform each of these functions “full-time” in the way that my relatives do not feel that my passion, which is fashion, takes me too much away from them. I am the mother of 6-year-old Pola who is fascinated by my actions and tries to participate in them and I have a wonderful husband who supports me at every step.

I have always been fascinated by the world of fashion, art and music. Since I can remember, I have been singing and drawing and even though I graduated in economics I can honestly admit that the world of tough business does not attract me at all. Running a blog is a fascinating fashion adventure for me, which I couldn’t possibly give up today. Contact with the followers is driving me incredibly! Every day I learn fashion, watch the trends and try to communicate to my audience everything that fascinates me at the moment. I don’t want to say any clichés about feeling wonderful if through my daily work on the blog I help someone discover their style… but it’s true, that’s what makes me feel wonderful! It’s just nice to know that your work was appreciated by someone or that someone took advantage of what you do.

If I were to define my style in a few words… A minimalistic, elegant, conscious and confident woman who is not afraid to go crazy sometimes.

I have a lot of fun with fashion. I love everything that is connected with it and combining styles comes easily to me. Variety in fashion is beautiful but what we should learn is moderation. My beloved Coco Chanel used to say that “simplicity is the key to true elegance.”

Instagram Feed – Secrets for Photo shoots

FIV: Your Instagram feed is wonderful. What is your secret? Can you tell us about your favorite camera equipment for photo shoots?

Justyna: The creation of my feed is not accompanied by any secrets! I use a FijiFilm X-T4 camera but I only have one lens (80-200) for it. The camera helps me cope with more difficult lighting conditions but I use my iphone 11 just as often. I’m very impatient and I like to see the final result of the session right away on the phone. My feed also includes, of course, pictures of professional street photographers with whom I have the pleasure of working during the fashion weeks in Copenhagen and Paris. I have been working on the formula of my feed for a long time. I used to use filters before – nowadays I don’t do it anymore; I only rely on natural colours and light. I’m well aware of content I want to communicate on my blog and I try to make sure that both the content and the feed that expresses it are consistent and minimalist.

Summer 2020 – Fashion trends

FIV: You are always looking for new trends. What is your ultimate it-bag for this summer 2020?

Justyna: Well, as Americans say, it’s my last “baby in da house” or yellow “The chain pouch” from Bottega Veneta. I bought it recently, making myself a gift for the next five birthdays ahead.

FIV: As a fashion influencer, can you describe your favorite outfit for this summer 2020?

Justyna: Outfit for this summer? This is definitely a summer dress “SAUDADE” designed by Simon Porte Jacquemus! I met Simon at the Paris Fashion Week in 2019 when I was on the backstage of his show. It was then when I saw that he is an extraordinary artist who designs beyond the existing trends. He released miniature handbags that girls all over the world went crazy about. When I saw his latest project in the form of a summer dress, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. A dress that combines delicacy, elegance and femininity.

The second favourite summer outfit but casual is the top of the Toteme brand and shorts from The Frankie Shop. I love this set combined with Bottega Veneta flip flops and my new chain pouch.

Copenhagen Fashion Week with Justyna Czerniak

FIV: You are used to participate to the Copenhagen Fashion Week which is the “new style capital”. Who are your 3 favorite designers from Copenhagen? And what do you like the most during Fashion Weeks?

Justyna: I love the fashion from Copenhagen! It is unique and has the originality that cannot be mistaken for creations from Paris or New York. I like the “Copenhagen” style very much. I am blonde, I often hear that I look like “Scandi girl”. Who knows, maybe I have a bit of Scandinavian blood in me, that’s why I love this style! My “TOP 3” for the Copenhagen brands are MUNTHE, BAUM and PFERDGARTEN and Birgitte Herskind. Everyone who comes to Copenhagen during Fashion Week will confirm my words – the unforgettable atmosphere of this event is created by people! Great people from all over the world, friendly, open to fashion and art. I love endless conversations before and after the show! This is what I miss the most when the great fashion show ends and you have to go home.

FIV: Your fashion life allow you to discover the latest trendy places. You are so lucky. Where are your favorite fashion places located?

Justyna: My favourite fashion spots are Copenhagen and Paris. I know these cities well, I feel safe there and have many friends I love spending time with. I also appreciate London, I lived there for a few years but unfortunately I find it hard to feel the atmosphere similar to the one in Copenhagen and Paris.

Travel – Best trip so far & Top 3 essentials to pack when traveling in summer

FIV: You’re used to travel in beautiful places. What was your best trip so far and where do you want to go again?

Justyna: I love to explore new places! So far I have the most pleasant memories of my trip to Malta. We rented a room in a private, historic house in Valletta (the capital city) with a tiny balcony from which there was a wonderful view of the sea. The history of the city dates back to the 16th century. Valletta is a real architectural gem! Cobbled streets, tiny wine bars, historic places… Yes, I liked the atmosphere very much!

When I wonder where I would like to return to, I realize that it would be a waste of time to return. What I mean is I’d rather discover new places. I dream of traveling to Japan and seeing it from the side which cannot be seen by those who follow the main tourist trails.

FIV: As a fashion traveler, what are your Top 3 essentials to pack when traveling in summer?

Justyna: If I travel a long way, I choose a tracksuit for comfort. I add sunglasses and a bag. In my opinion, it was these two accessories that wrote the history of modern fashion!
