Set anchor, cast off! A highlight of the Berlin Fashion Week is Lena Hoschek. All editors, bloggers and celebrities are looking forward to the new collection of the extraordinary designer from Austria. This time Lena Hoschek takes us to the coasts of the Baltic Sea during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Those who know her know that she designs her fashion in a very secluded way, far away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Key Looks – Lena Hoschek’s Spring/Summer Collection 2017

The collection tells the story of a bathing culture that began around 1900. Previously still high-necked, the swimwear of the 20s to 40s underwent a revolutionary transformation towards revealing cuts and feminine silhouettes. Due to the newfound openness of beach fashion, this era conveys a flair that stands for femininity and pure joie de vivre. A lust for life, as it is also on the island of Rügen, especially in the seaside resort of Binz, which is known for its spa architecture and is also a health resort.

With romantically playful and customarily feminine designs, the dress maker provides a fresh sea breeze with maritime looks, even in the middle of the city. To the sound of seagulls and a relaxed singer-songwriter soundtrack, the models stroll along the sand-coloured carpet as if on a promenade.

These influences are reflected in the summery designs of the AHOY collection. In addition to figure-flattering dresses with cleverly cut bustiers reminiscent of vintage swimsuits, there are also lovely playsuits with sailor collars and wide-leg Marlene trousers that sit at the waist. In addition to the different cuts, Lena Hoschek’s unwavering attention to detail in the processing of individual materials immediately catches the eye. For example, jersey and seersucker meet eyelets and cords, and delicate lace meets robust cotton.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed literally diving into the maritime world, getting lost in the research and indulging in the clichés. I’m already looking forward to a summer full of lust and joie de vivre and making the sailor dress un-navigable,” says the talented designer. Lena Hoschek completes her usual perfected look from head to toe with specially made shoes from an Italian manufactory, cute parasols and sailor caps as well as captain’s hats. As usual, Maybelline New York ensures perfect make-up with alarm-red lips, classic eyeliner and rosy cheeks. The slightly wavy, breezy hair styled by L’Oréal Professionnel becomes a full mane thanks to the Hairdreams brand, thus completing the summery and seductive Sailor Girl look.
