Festival Bracelets: Fabric, Sayings & Closure
Festivals – By the time we’re flooded on Instagram, Facebook and Co. with photos of well-known models and influencers like Gigi Hadid or Kylie Jenner at the popular Coachella Festival in California, the big excitement for the festival season is already growing. The annual festivals stand for great music, lively moods, and unique outfits. Good thing it’s finally here – starting in May, the music festivals also kick off in Europe! Whether it’s Holi, Rock, Metal or Hip Hop – the range of options is large, so there’s something for every music taste. While the famous stars stand out with their exotic and extravagant looks, the dress code of our festivals is rather casual and colorful. A highlight that shouldn’t be missing from any outfit is jewelry. FIV Magazine has compiled here how diverse the range of festival bracelets is and what else you need to know about these colorful jewelry pieces!
Design: Colors, Patterns & Quotes
Big earrings, eye-catching necklaces, colorful scarves and of course the well-known Festival Bracelets. Everyone knows the small but special band that signals you were at a festival. Nowadays, however, it serves not only to indicate that the entrance fee was paid, but also as a colorful highlight matching your style and as a memento of the exciting time at the festival. Many young people keep their bracelet on their wrist even after the festival and even collect several bands over time, which gradually decorate their arm. As a result, festival bracelets no longer serve only their original purpose, but are becoming increasingly popular among festival-goers. The colors, patterns, shapes and finishes of the charming bands also vary from event to event, so you can find everything from plain and neutral to bright and patterned.
While festival bracelets used to be relatively plain and simple in the past, today’s arm jewelry comes in a wide variety of colors, patterns, and variations. Whether neon, patterned, or with a special message – the festival bracelet makes a personal statement and will remind you for a long time of an eventful and unforgettable time at the festival.
Colors – bright & eye-catching
The more colorful and eye-catching, the better! This is the motto of most popular festivals, as it expresses good mood and a lively atmosphere. Usually, the bracelets are designed according to the respective festival and reflect its theme, music style, and overall look, making it easy to immediately recognize which event it is. In addition, the color of the bracelet often indicates the price category and the associated benefits you have for the day. For example, a green bracelet might indicate that you only paid for entry, while a red bracelet stands for VIP entry including drinks.
Patterns – eye-catching prints or embroidered details
Most festival wristbands are relatively plain, but there are also events where the bands are marked with patterns. Whether small logos or large patterns – these wristbands are definitely eye-catching! The patterns can be printed, sewn, woven, or even glued on.
Quotes – Logo or slogan as a distinguishing feature
To identify a specific festival, most event planners have a logo or a quote printed on the wristbands, which serves as a distinguishing feature. At larger, well-known festivals, such as the Hurricane, with around 70,000 visitors each year, the festival wristband is a special highlight, so the name of the event must definitely not be missing from the band.
Materials: Paper, plastic & fabric
Paper: the simplest option for small events
The simplest and most original form of a festival wristband is one made of paper. This is mostly used at smaller festivals and is rather plain. It really serves only as a marker for attendees and is usually removed after the event.
Plastic: durable festival wristbands
The plastic version is also a well-known type of wristband. Unlike paper bands, these are waterproof and therefore less delicate. Nevertheless, they do not have such a strong sentimental value, as they are mostly solid colors and possibly only decorated with a text and usually do not have any other special features. In addition, they are not as comfortable as the fabric version and are therefore generally not worn longer than necessary.
Fabric: pleasant & long-lasting souvenirs
The most popular and by now most commonly used variant of festival bracelets is made of fabric. These are usually woven or braided, and therefore feel pleasant on the skin when worn. The bracelets are usually quite soft and comfortable, so you barely notice them during the festival and even afterwards. Moreover, fabric festival bracelets are very durable, as they are water-resistant and washable, and therefore do not get damaged as quickly as, for example, paper bracelets.
Closure: Snap Button, Fast Lock & Self-Adhesive
Most festival wristbands have a closure that can be fastened only once and cannot be used again after opening. This prevents multiple uses, ensuring that the wristbands cannot be passed on to other people. The simplest form is a self-adhesive closure designed in such a way that it cannot be returned to its original shape after the first opening. With plastic wristbands, a push button is most commonly used as a closure method, allowing the user to decide how loose the band should be and select the appropriate hole accordingly. The most common variant for fabric wristbands is a so-called Fast Lock closure. This consists of a plastic tube that can be slid onto the band as far as desired, but cannot be pushed back. As a result, the chosen size remains fixed on the wrist, and any excess band can be cut off. Here I have summarized the most common types of closures once again.
- Self-adhesive
- Push button
- Fast Lock
Festival bracelets are not only a great option to identify and highlight a specific group and celebration, but they also convince as a fashionable accessory for any outfit. You will remember the respective festival, the people associated with it, the lively mood, and the great music for a long time through your bracelet. Thus, festival bracelets are not just a piece of fabric on your wrist, but they also preserve countless beautiful memories. Whether it’s a birthday party, a smaller celebration, or a multi-day festival – the popular bracelets are a must-have at every event and remain with you for a long time afterwards as a memento of the exciting time!
