Day one at Berlin Fashion Week. Today we have some great shows coming up again. For the kick-off we have chosen two Berlin fashion designers: Ivan Man, Thomas Hanisch and Odeur Studios from Stockholm.

Men’s fashion for the new season by Ivanman @ Fashion Week Stage

“Out of Rosenheim” from 1987, starring Marianne Sägebrecht, is the linchpin of this collection. In the film, as in the fashion, different world views come together. Directed by Percy Adlon, traditions and modern life collide purposefully.

Inspired by this wild and strange world, new colour constellations, shapes and appearances were created in the IVANMAN Spring/Summer 2017 collection. The outfits embody classic menswear, rich in detail and eloquent in interplay with modern impulses that appear harmonious and strange at the same time.

The new collection focuses on precisely these structures and remains unchanged in its determination to create an innovative, dynamic colour scheme. Rich black and flattering creamy white complement the collection’s two main colours of delicate rosé and light turquoise.

Designer Ivan Mandzukic thinks in terms of the whole – so you see the man well dressed in high-waisted and slim-fit suit trousers, combined with a short-sleeved knit or jersey shirt, plus a wide-cut coat or casual blouson jacket. Dropped shoulders and wide collars bring the flair of the late 80s into the modern age. 3-D knitted creations on shirts and sweaters accentuate the upper body without imposing themselves New form inventions merge as if by themselves into the overall concept of the design. IVANMAN thus manages to find its very own approach to the future of design.

Ivanman – History of the Berlin label around Ivan Mandzukic

IVANMAN was founded in Berlin in 2010. Serbian-born Ivan Mandzukic, the creative head of the label, stands for a close interweaving of avant-garde and classic. His fashion is based on a classically simple silhouette, which is modified in the development process and matures into a wearable purist collection. The menswear label stands for authentic menswear with clean lines, minimalist fits and graphic geometric details.
