Would you like to see the heath from a new perspective? 20m above the ground extends the highest tree-top path in Germany. The dense coniferous forests and the special flora and fauna of the Lüneburger Heide can best be enjoyed from the distant view platform. On good weather days, the silhouette of Hamburg harbour can be seen on the horizon. Numerous information boards make the walk an exciting experience – also for children. The path extends over a total length of approximately 700m. Barrier-free access makes this special experience possible for everyone. The path is open daily from 8 am to 7 pm and is open all year round. The dizzying fun costs adults 9.50 Euro, children pay 6.50 Euro.

Getting there: Bike tour to Heidehimmel

A bike tour from the Weseler Heide towards Heide Himmel is recommended. The 10.5 km can be covered in about half an hour and you can easily immerse yourself in the wonderful nature.

Viewing Platform – Tip 1

A viewing tower made of natural materials rises from the dense coniferous forest. 40 meters above ground, the viewing tower overlooks the green surroundings. A passenger lift supports barrier-free access, making the experience possible for everyone. Over 20 environmental and learning stations are located on site, providing an educational experience for both big and small guests.

Wildpark Nindorf – Tip 2

Right next to the Heidehimmel is the Wildpark Nindorf. On more than 80 hectares, about 1,200 animals are at home. A night walk through the twilight of the park, following the tracks of the wolves, or a look behind the scenes – tours are offered on various themes. Here you can dive even deeper into nature.

Restaurant Himmel und Erde – Tip 3

If you need a pick-me-up after your walk along Germany’s highest tree-top path, you can relax and enjoy yourself at the restaurant Himmel und Erde. The dishes taste especially good with the great view. Whether it’s coffee and cake or a hearty lunch, there’s something here for everyone. During a subsequent visit to the souvenir shop, you can pick up gifts and souvenirs for friends and family.
