Heroin Kids stands for the raw aesthetics of the Berlin street like hardly any other label: dark statements, hard cuts, DIY spirit and anti-aesthetics as a clear stance against slick mainstream fashion. Show right next to the showroom. Small, fine, little seating – but next to DAMUR clearly the show with the most “Berlin”. Explicit, little fabric, lots of wow. Kinky, SM, pure Berlin. I’ve known both designers for years.

#DAMUR – Fashion after midnight

Anyone who knows DAMUR knows: club culture meets cutting edge. Berlin labels like this show that fashion is not quiet. The show took place in the legendary KitKatClub Berlin. Anyone wearing more than a bathing suit was practically overdressed.

“Extremely good audience, great location – and then the show by DAMUR. Between booties and soap bubbles.”

We’ve known each other since the show with Riccardo Simonetti on ZDF. That’s why we were all the more pleased. Neon-green hair, soap bubbles, cool vibes.

Kilian Kerner – Emotion & Elegance

Kilian Kerner achieves what many try to do: real emotion on the runway. His looks are never superficial – they tell stories. The show took place in the Uber Arena – one of Berlin’s most famous spots, right on the Spree.

“His fashion was as always: Hollywood, red carpet, big emotions.”

If anyone can do it, he can. His topic: the GDR and tens of thousands of missing children – too much for here, hence the focus on fashion.

Danny Reinke – Couture from Berlin

For me, Danny Reinke is one of the most important designers of the new generation. His shows are not just fashion – they are political, queer, handmade, pure attitude.

The intro was already strong: great videos, sound design, hunting as a theme. Then the fashion: pure renaissance, natural materials, wide cuts, quality you can see.

Tell the Truth – Highlight in the concrete bunker

This will be the showdown: Tell the Truth presents its new collection – in the bunker, rough, loud, clear. In the middle of a Berlin bunker – stuffy, hot, hundreds of guests, 95 percent with Instagram or TikTok – welcome to Tell the Truth. The looks? Loud, raw, yet wearable. One of the shows with the biggest hype of the week.

Rebekka Ruétz Fashion Week 2025

Berlin Mitte. The air vibrated as you entered the room – dominated by a 30-meter-wide screen that opened with a powerful video intro. Elegant, almost like Chanel, but with that typical Ruétz signature: powerful, clear, feminine. The designer once again showed what she stands for – and has done for over ten years. “My looks should convey power without shouting loudly,” she said backstage. And that’s exactly what you could feel in every outfit.

The collection was stylish, modern and yet wearable – a tribute to self-confident women. Flowing fabrics, accentuated shoulders, rich colors. This is fashion as it should be: strong and with soul.

Who is Stéphane Rolland? Stéphane Rolland is a French fashion designer known for his haute couture collections and his work in the fashion industry. He was born in Paris, France, in 1966. Rolland began his career as an assistant to fashion designer Jean-Louis Scherrer and later gained international recognition for his own designs. Scandal: Galliano’s crash and his apology

British fashion designer John Galliano hit the headlines in 2011 for racist and anti-Semitic comments. In a Paris court, he was sentenced to a fine of 6,000 euros, which was suspended on probation, as reported by the Guardian at the time.

Galliano, who had previously been celebrated for his creative creations, lost his post as creative director of the fashion house Dior due to his misconduct. His addiction problems and the pressures of the fashion industry played a role in his downfall. Interview! Men’s models, looks and idols

In the interview, we talk about men’s models, popular looks, but also Timothée Chalamet, who is currently a style influencer for many.

Male models like Jon Kortajarena, Anwar Hadid and Sean O’Pry work for big brands like Armani, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. You deal with advertising campaigns and shoots every day, and also with the different tastes of customers. What type is extremely popular with men’s models at the moment?

The type of male model that is in demand varies. There is fashion and advertising.

Men’s models at Fashion Week: skinny + young

Stephan Czaja (CM): When we talk about fashion, or haute couture, new collections, fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, London, the fashion cities. Generally speaking, I would say young, almost “young” looking 17-21 years old, relatively thin or “skinny”, without a beard and almost always freshly shaved. The models are diverse, African, Asian, European, all looks. The “skills” don’t have to be that trained, a cool look is often enough. Typical Calvin Klein perfume advertising, as if the model “doesn’t care about anything. Fashion stands for new things and accordingly “new” faces are always being sought.

Men’s models in advertising: cool, athletic + smiling

Stephan Czaja (CM): In advertising, men tend to be more distinctive, depending on the target group. Let’s say from the skinny 17-year-old at the fashion show to the athletic man, successful, 3-day beard, a great smile. A career in advertising starts from the age of 19, up to 25, depending on the type. Ultimately, advertising always sells a certain attitude to life, or the “good life” or lifestyle. That’s why “ability” is all the more important. A cool look is no longer enough. Whether it’s a travel campaign, the latest smartphone, fashion, etc., emotions and practiced posing (posture) and facial expressions are needed

Long-term success as male models

Stephan Czaja (CM): The better the male model, the faster the production, the more successfuly the planned goals of the photo shoot are achieved. Looks really only come second. You can only get good jobs and big clients if you prove to your management that they can trust the model. This means being punctual for jobs, attending casting appointments on time, working together professionally on the first small jobs on set, etc.

These are the most successful models in the industry.

How long can you work as a male model?

Stephan Czaja (CM): If you like the modeling job, i.e. castings, photo shoots, travel, all doors are open to you, even as you get older. It’s often just important to start early, as a teenager, or at the latest as a young adult. This gives the model management time to build up and the model time to learn.

Future: Which men’s look is coming next?

Stephan Czaja (CM): Next, curvy men will increasingly appear in advertising. Hardly noticed or not noticed at all until now. Curvy women have been around for a few years now. Men with an Asian look are also a trend among marketing agencies, advertising agencies and all other clients.

Timothée Chalamet: Idol and love story

What makes a guy like Timothée Chalamet so influential for many people?

Stephan Czaja (CM): Thanks to the huge success of his films “Call Me By Your Name” and “Little Women”, Timothée Chalamet has become one of the most sought-after and successful actors in Hollywood. Whether Instagram or breakfast television. His fanbase is mainly in the TikTok / Instagram generation, under the age of 25. His public relationship with his ex-girlfriend Lily-Rose Deep in particular has made him the idol of many, as the couple were Hollywood’s dream couple during their relationship and they were also considered an absolute dream couple on social media. On Monday, July 10, we start with the fashion show by BOBKOVA at Kronprinzenpalais. This show is presented by Berlin Contemporary and promises an insight into the latest developments in Berlin fashion.

This will be followed by the presentation of MELISA MINCA at PLATTE.Berlin, followed by LUCAS MEYER LECLERE at Kühlhaus Berlin. These two shows are also part of Berlin Contemporary and will surely present impressive designs and creations.

In the evening, the show of ODEEH awaits us, the exact venue of which is yet to be announced. This brand is also part of Berlin Contemporary and promises a captivating performance.

Tuesday: Shows, shows, shows!

On Tuesday, July 11, more exciting shows are on the schedule. We start with PODYH at Kronprinzenpalais, followed by Marcel Ostertag at Verti Music Hall. Both shows are part of W.E4.FASHION DAY and are sure to offer innovative designs and exciting fashion. LITKOVSKA will be presented at Kraftwerk Berlin, while REBEKKA RUÉTZ will once again perform at Verti Music Hall. There will also be a special show by the graduate students of the Academy of Fashion & Design and Hanover at the Alte Münze Berlin.

In the afternoon we have the opportunity to visit the shows of MY FASSBENDER and ATELIER CHARDON SAVARD at the Alte Münze Berlin. These two shows are part of NEO.FASHION and showcase the talents of emerging designers. The show continues with KILIAN KERNER BERLIN at Verti Music Hall, followed by RICHERT BEIL at Leibnitzstraße and DANNY REINKE again at Verti Music Hall.

In the evening, there will be a joint show by graduate students from Pforzheim University and HTW Berlin at the Alte Münze Berlin. Also MILK OF LIME presents its collection at the Zeiss Major Planetarium, while RIANNA + NINA can be seen at the Alte Nationalgalerie.

The final shows of the day will be presented by graduate students from Bielefeld, Hamburg and Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences at the Alte Münze Berlin. The evening will close with WILLIAM FAN’s show “In Partnership with Mercedes-Benz”, whose venue is yet to be announced. Finally, there will be the show of SIA ARNIKA at Havel Studios.

Esther Perbandt: Gender non-conforming fashion, interdisciplinary projects & musical passion.

Born in Berlin, shaped in Moscow and refined in Paris, she has had a fascinating journey. From her childhood and adolescence, she was influenced by the open-mindedness of her parents, who were involved in feminist movements and strived for greater inclusion. Esther Perbandt describes her fashion as an act of gender-unspecific (post-)feminism. Her avant-garde style focuses on personality, autonomy and individuality. She deconstructs the non-binary silhouette and redefines it with classic menswear details, while preserving timeless aspects of elegance and style. Through her “Black is colorful” philosophy, she uses the color black as a platform for artful creations that combine timeless elegance and a rebellious touch.

Interdisciplinary collaboration plays a central role in Esther Perbandt’s work.
