G-Star Raw: Just the product

The Dutch jeans and fashion brand G-Star Raw was founded in Amsterdam in 1989 and is especially known for its jeans. But did you actually know what the “Raw” in the name of the brand stands for?! This is about the fact that the jeans remain as untreated as possible, so raw, as in “raw”. The raw, unwashed materials form the basis of each collection, which is why the correct name of the brand is G-Star Raw, even if it is rather known only as G-Star.

Etro

Etro is an Italian fashion and luxury goods company founded in 1968 and based in Milan. The family business was founded as a fabric weaving company at the time, but Etro still produces about 60% of the fabrics it uses. The brand is known for its use of bright colors and paisley pattern as a recurring motif. Their philosophy of developing traditional products, sometimes in unconventional ways, is called la nuova tradizione.

Alessandro Dell’Acqua is an internationally known Italian fashion designer who works as a designer for numerous fashion houses, and is also the name of the fashion company N°21, which he founded in 1996.

At Milan Fashion Week he now presents his new summer collection for 2023.

Missoni

The family business Missoni in the field of fashion and luxury goods from 1953 is internationally known for colorful textiles and knitwear made of a variety of materials with colorful stripes in zigzag pattern or herringbone and patchwork design. Antonio Marras

Antonio Marras is an Italian fashion designer of his own eponymous brand. Since his first experiences in fashion, Marras stands out for his experiments, for his ability to capture the different realities around him, the mixtures with art, music, dance, theater and cinema. Fashion is for him a means of communication.

Thus, he is also the first designer to be housed in the prestigious Foundation for Contemporary Art.

He is known for his intellectual curiosity and for his research, always far from fashion clichés. In his vision, year after year, his creations speak of identity, of exiles and refugees, of multiculturalism, of the world and of destiny.

Tod’s

Tod’s S.p.A. is an Italian fashion group known mainly for shoes, bags and leather accessories in the upper price segment

A high-quality, elegant leather moccasin with rubber studs on the sole became the company’s best-seller. The fact that in the 1980s Fiat heir Giovanni Agnelli, among others, was pictured wearing Tod’s shoes, and in the 1990s Princess Diana was pictured wearing a Tod’s handbag, contributed significantly to the brand’s reputation.

Genny

Genny is an Italian manufacturer of ready-to-wear clothing. It was founded in 1961 by Arnaldo Girombelli in Ancona, named after his eldest daughter.

In 2001 Prada acquired the label, and in 2004 Genny ceased production. In 2011 the label was acquired by Swinger International S.p.A., which decided to relaunch the brand and appointed Gabriele Colangelo as the new designer.

MM6 – Maison Margiela

MM6 is the sister label of the fashion house Maison Martin Margiela, which Martin Margiela founded in 1988. The designer quickly made a name for himself in the fashion world with his avant-garde creations. The MM6 range is aimed at self-confident women who dare to do something. Because Martin Margiela plays with current cuts and looks. Nevertheless, the parts from the MM6 collection are absolutely suitable for everyday wear. Because here, in addition to colorful and cut eye-catching pieces, there are also real classics, such as black sweaters or white blouses. The quality is of course particularly high and this is also reflected in the price.

Maryling

Maryling fashion brand was founded in Italy in 2010 by Giorgio Armani fashion designer Angelo Katsapis. Creative teams are now based in Milan, London and Hong Kong, three major fashion cities. With this brand, Angelo wanted to achieve to offer ladies a refined 24/7 wardrobe. Although rather unusual for an everyday outfit, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger wears a leather look, but the high-quality items, such as leather jackets or knit skirts, do their job wonderfully.

Moschino

Moschino is an Italian fashion brand created by Franco Moschino in 1983 with clothing, accessories and fragrances for men and women. Franco Moschino’s fashion was influenced by Dadaism, Surrealism, Pop Art or Conceptual Art. He is not a fan of the seriousness of the fashion business, but wants fashion to be fun and therefore decorated his high quality, always wearable designs with accessories like bows, little hearts, plastic ornaments or everyday objects.
