The most popular TV series of modern times – What are good series? What is the best series in the world? Which Netflix series are good? Before we go through the most popular TV series of modern times with you, we will take a short jump into the past, into the history of TV series. Oh – and we have a spoiler for you: Unlike the name, for once Game of Thrones doesn’t top our list.

Revolution TV: Tube to Netflix, Amazon & Disney

Although the television set was available in the late 1920s, it reached only a few in society. The television technology of the time was still too experimental. It was not until a few decades after the Second World War that an improved form of black-and-white television broadcasting enjoyed great popularity, especially in the USA and Great Britain. In the 1950s, the television was considered the most important medium for influencing public opinion and ten years later, the colour broadcast known today was introduced.

VSH tapes, hard drives and DVDs revolutionized the television landscape. After the introduction of digital television, resolution also improved. HDTV was now available in 1080p, 1080oi and 720op. Today, Internet television has established itself. So streaming services like Netflix, Amazon and Hulu now allow video on demand. One of the most popular here is the TV series.

1920s: The first television set is publicly available for sale

1960’s: Colour sending is introduced

History of the TV series: It wasn’t that long ago

Unlike a film, a TV series is broadcast in single episodes. These are often linked by a narrative context (similar to the chapters of a book). The core of the cast usually remains the same and the many episodes are finally divided into seasons. A series with a limited number of episodes can be called a mini-series.

The first TV series were, like the television set, rather experimental in nature. The first broadcasts started in the 1930s, but they could only be received near the local TV tower. In 1948 the breakthrough came: the popular radio show Taxaco Star Theater became the first weekly variety show to be broadcast. 1966 saw the first full-color prime-time season and the availability of color television increased the popularity of regular television shows.

Before the 1980s, the suspense of the story line remained mostly static. There were hardly any dramatic changes in the lives of the protagonists. This meant that the episodes could be broadcast in different order. A dramatic structure of the series plot as we know it today only became popular in the late 1980s.

1930s: First TV series

1948: Taxaco Star Theater becomes the first weekly variety show

1966: First full-color prime-time season

Genres: From fictional to educational

The TV series is more diverse than most other forms of media due to its many narratives and formats.

All series can be assigned to at least one of the following genres:

fictional

non-fictional

current

historical

educational

entertaining

With all the different formats, it is not surprising that our ranking of the most popular series of modern times also includes everything your heart desires. Nevertheless, we from the editorial team were really surprised to see who has sneaked to the top of TV history in recent years.

The most popular TV series 2020

Who among us doesn’t know that. It’s a normal Sunday night. Your stomach’s full of dinner. So you lie lazy on the couch with your family. And almost automatically your hand goes to the remote control. It’s switched through the TV program. Especially during prime time at 8:15 pm, you can find everything the TV viewer could wish for: thrilling horror movies, dramatic casting shows, tele-shopping for the next Christmas present and of course this classic: the TV series.

Here we have compiled the most popular TV series ever for you:

NCIS

Young Sheldon

This Is Us

NCIS: Hotte special agents in action

The most popular series of modern times is also one of the oldest and probably known to most of you: The Naval Criminal Investigative Service, NCIS for short. The NCIS is a fictional team of American special agents who have been regularly uncovering mysterious murders and criminal cases since 2003. The team is led by Special Agent Leroy Gibbs, a former Marine. His team also includes Senior Field Agent Tony DiNozzo, a handsome misogynistic homicide detective; Eleanor Bishop, a former NSA agent and Junior Field Agent Timothy McGee. Also included are medical examiners Abby Sciuto and Dr. Donald Mallard.

The series premiered on CBS on September 23, 2003 and is the second longest prime-time series in the U.S. after TV Hit Law & Order. The original title was Navy NCIS, but later the Navy became superfluous and the series is since then only known as NCIS. Six successful seasons later it finally came to a spin off – NCIS: Los Angeles. Five more seasons and some awards finally led to another successful spin off – NCIS: New Orleans.

Young Sheldon: Spin Off of Big Bang Theory

The series revolves around the life of nine-year-old Sheldon Cooper, who attends high school in the fictional city of Medford, Texas in the 1980s. His unique intellectual abilities present him and his family with many challenges.

The TV show is a spin-off prequel to the popular Tv show The Big Bang Theory, which follows the later life of Sheldon Cooper and his friends. Originally, Young Sheldon was a spontaneous idea of Jim Parsons, who plays the adult Sheldon in Big Bang Theory. He passed this idea on to the producers in November 2016 and in the following March the first castings took place.

Due to the huge success of The Big Bang Theory series and its huge worldwide fanbase, Young Sheldon was first broadcast as a special preview on September 25, 2017. Two days later it became official: CBS took over the series for a complete season and since November 2, 2017, fans can follow the life of the young Sheldon Cooper on a weekly basis.

This Is Us: Emotional Stories Written by Life

The comedy genre is also at number three on our list and, similar to Sheldon, a very special family is at the forefront: the families around the siblings Kevin, Kate and Randall.

A short review: In 1980 the actual triplets Kevin and Kate are born. Their brother dies in childbirth. In the belief that they were supposed to have three children, the parents adopt Randall – a little boy of African-American origin. The father Jack Pearson dies and the mother Rebecca Pearson later marries her late husband’s best friend. Randall becomes a successful financial professional and family man; Kevin becomes an actor and the musical Kate becomes a mother.

Most episodes take place in the present, while others take place at specific moments in the past. The focus is always on the parents Jack and Rebecca and their three children. Only from the second season on there are also flash-forwards, which show the future of the family.

Quick Facts: A comedy for everyone

English title: This Is Us

length: 42 minutes

Whether it’s a crime thriller, romance or comedy – every one of us looks forward in the evening after a long day to watching an episode of his or her favourite series over a glass of beer. It never gets boring and the creative heads of Hollywood come up with something new. Although … you don’t really need that much creativity. After all, life writes the best stories, right?

Financial freedom, 30 days off a month, be happy? Of course, audio books are better than any paperback! Cozy in your armchair, while walking through the park or after work on the balcony. If you are looking for professional success based on private happiness, you should read “Richer than the Geissens”. Author Alex Fischer, himself a real estate millionaire, has now done something very special: The entire audio book, all episodes, are available for free on Spotify and iTunes! Know-how for everyone who wants to make it to the top. “In 5 years without equity to become a real estate millionaire” – I immediately thought: Challenge accepted! My recommendation: “Richer than the Geissens”, the podcast on Spotify and iTunes or check out the free member area.

Richer than the Geissens – free audio book

Important: Currently the book is only available in Germany! I speak German and discovered this book or podcast two weeks ago. Even if you wouldn’t understand a word in the podcast, I wanted to introduce some of the methods and strategies to you!

This review shows you in extracts, which Mindset Alex Fischer conveys in “Richer than the Geissens”:

A little tour through the podcast

More than 600 learnings, 43 concrete and timeless laws of success, all packed with stories and examples that illustrate the experiences – you could never summarize this in a review. But I want to show you where the journey is heading, if you listen carefully to all the podcasts that follow as a person who is at the beginning! The book will be much more detailed in many places and also discusses topics of a higher level if you already own 3 or 4 properties.

This little tour is for those who are at the very beginning: “In 5 years without equity to become a real estate millionaire”.

Minimum set and financial freedom

Financial freedom, isn’t that a great feeling? You can decide spontaneously at any time, a power day with a colleague in the office, a short holiday to the Cote d’Azur or spontaneously build up your own network by visiting Berlin or London? Every day is yours! But financial freedom does not just mean “a lot of money”, financial freedom gives you the freedom to be creative and to create. The worst thing for an entrepreneur are achieved goals! Therefore you should not focus on your goals, but on what lies behind them: Your mindset, your ideals, your purpose. If you are clear about this, your next goal is not to submit to the premise “time for money”. Your big goal must be to have 30 free days a month.

cash flow, equity, the first property

If you listen to the free audio book “Richer than the Geissens” very carefully, episode by episode, leaving nothing out and listen to important parts two or three times, then you will learn all the tools to achieve this goal and then expand on it. About your own mindset, your ideals, your relation to money, the most effective use of your own for others by working out the above mentioned purpose, your list of strengths, resources, but also your list of market niches. From this combination of insights you will recognize the most efficient added value you can offer. From this you will create your first good cash flow, increasingly passive cash flow and at some point you will build up your equity, buy your first property and you will know how to use a property as an investment tool.

At this point directly emphasizes again that you listen to all the consequences, from the first to the last. Take enough time and repeat individual episodes or passages if necessary.

Did you already know? In Alex Fischer’s free member area there is much more about real estate, taxes and a lot of know-how. Here you learn valuable practice strategies, in order to obtain sensational successes in all areas of life and that as said, completely free of charge. Look here in the member area of Alex Fischer

Now on Spotify & iTunes

On Spotify and on many other podcast apps you can now find the top seller of Alex Fischer “Richer than the Geissens” for free! The chance to become successful yourself. Alex Fischer is a self-made millionaire, a multimillionaire who has made it all … that’s exactly what I want to find out for myself now! Here are a few facts about the book and podcast:

Now as Podcast on Spotify and iTunes – free of charge!

668 essential tips

43 ‘timeless laws of success’

456 pages or 79 episodes in the audio book

3 parts (mindset, strategies / tools and building money machine)

How should you listen to the podcast?

It is best to spread individual episodes or capital over days. The audio book consists of 3 chapters. If you want to understand the principles and ways of Alex Fischer to have the greatest learning success, you have to take your time! Every single episode contains a lot of know-how. Therefore we recommend to repeat important chapters.

Extremely much know-how and story

Real estate millionaire Alex Fischer gives extremely deep insights but also personal ones. As in Evolume 41: The blind swimmer. Whenever he is about to give up, he thinks of this one fascinating story of perseverance, his personal “perseverance doping”. Briefly told it is about a man. He lived with his wife in India in the 70s. His wife fell seriously ill. Unfortunately they lived at the foot of a mountain. There was no way over the mountain, which would have been hardly a kilometre as the crow flies. Since there was no path, he had to walk around the foot of the mountain with his sick wife in his arms. She died. He swore to himself that no man should ever lose his wife again, just because he would not make it to the doctor in time. So he began to remove the first rock walls. After 22 years he milled his way through the cliffs of the mountain – what an achievement! After 22 years, he had actually built a walkway. Not for himself, but for others.

On the one hand, one learns will and stamina from history. If he has such a great achievement, how can I hang myself on small problems? On the other hand the little story shows that being happy does not depend on one’s own well-being, the environment is at least as important for a happy life. Mindset is everything. You see, it’s not just about entrepreneurial principles, but above all about Mindset!

Your goal: “With 0 Euro starting capital in 5 years to become a real estate millionaire.” – Alex Fischer.

Mindset, tools and best practice real estate

The book has three parts.

Mindset and important basic knowledge as the entrepreneur of your life

Basic tools for you as a manager of your own life

How to recognize and set up a money machine, here the example of real estate

But one of the most beautiful sentences at the beginning is this one:

“If someone were to say, Alex, you have 450 pages to pass on to your son, what would you write down? – Alex Fischer

It takes a lot to be successful. It’s not a single note that you have to play, but a chord, a multi-tone, according to Alex Fischer. According to Alex Fischer, after decades of searching, there are 43 regularities that one must absolutely let sound simultaneously. Then you have fun and money. One can neglect 2, 3. If you disregard more than 5 rules, you stand on the brakes. If you ignore more than 15, life is exhausting, tiring and frustrating. If you break just five of these rules, you end up on the street. These 43 laws and principles are discussed in parts 1 and 2. Partly millennium old laws and new, modern principles. They are valid all over the world.

The biggest mistake, from his observation, is that everyone is looking for a money machine. These weigh tons and are built on large foundations, a lot of IT, a lot of effort. Even if someone gives them to you, how do you want to install this big machine without your own foundation, without maintenance knowledge and how to put it into operation? Even if you have the machine, it won’t work without foundation and maintenance. An entrepreneurial foundation is essential. If you ask entrepreneurs, they always talk about the money machine, not the foundation, but the logistics. Like a fish, you don’t notice the water around you unless it’s gone.

An example: 6,500 m² property (shopping centre) bought for 1.2 million euros. This investment has an annual target rent of 500.000 Euro. That means the property pays for itself in 2.5 years, another year for the tax and from then on 500.000 Euro cash flow per year will be available for free disposal.

The book: Learnings

What goals drive us as people, but also as entrepreneurs? In episode 6: Your personal real estate opportunities Alex Fischer discusses the very basic goals that drive us, especially with regard to real estate. Anyone who listens to the podcast “Richer than the Geissens” is pursuing one goal in particular: making money with real estate. Later in the podcast, it goes much deeper into your mind set. At the beginning of the podcast it says “Recognize your personal opportunities in the real estate market”, i.e. which segments, opportunities and goals make sense for you personally?

In the podcast, Alex Fischer mentions many different motives that can drive you, from carefree retirement to cash flow through real estate on a grand scale. You want to:

Improve your later retirement as effectively as possible,

Convert taxes and duties into private assets,

Earn or improve your living with real estate agency,

Generate additional cash flow before retirement,

Be able to live from the cash flow of rental income or

Like Alex Fischer, you earn your living by selling real estate.

positive thinking: mindset

Basically, the implementation of your goals is about a positive mindset. What do above-average happy people have in common? They take their life, their work, but also their relationships playfully, according to Alex Fischer. Why were Alex Fischer, Boris Becker, Michael Schumacher but also Reinhold Messner himself sad?

“It was the success that ended the game.” – Alex Fischer

Repeating this game is boring and does not give the same satisfaction. Felt it goes only downhill from now on. “Only” making more money doesn’t make you happy anymore. The big question:

“What do you enjoy? What makes you happy?” – Alex Fischer

Basic rules of Alex Fischer – His basic rules from episode 7 in the podcast “Richer than the Geissens”: Positive thinking: Mindset
Alex Fischer begins by asking, “How the hell do you find your purpose?” In episode 16. How to find your Purpose. It’s about you no longer “only” pursuing goals. You’ll learn what that means in episode 16, here’s a little insight:

Henry Ford’s dream was for everyone to drive a car. With the assembly line, he transformed the car into a mass product for everyone. Steve Jobs wanted to give everyone a tool to put a dent in the universe. Currently, Apple is the most valuable company on Wall Street, with a market value of 920 billion dollars. With computers, MP3 players, but also the smartphone, Apple revolutionized the digital entertainment and mobile phone industry.

Change dogmas

If you repeat something thousands of times, you develop a habit. If you suddenly decide against it and start a new concept 2 or 3 times, you will quickly realize that the habit usually prevails, according to Alex Fischer in episode 21: Analyze your beliefs.

As with smokers, a thousand times the cigarette was “relaxed”, “tasty”, etc. Suddenly you want to stop smoking. What happens? You decide against it 2, 3, 4 times and then you start smoking again. Simply because you said “I want to smoke” a thousand times.

A lot of people believe that money is bad. Not in that exact wording, but in this context.

It’s no use going one belief against another.

The solution is that “You dissolve old and outdated beliefs by means of awareness”.

Build and successfuly operate a money machine

As described above, this review is about the 3rd part of “Richer than the Geissens”. Be sure to listen to part 1 and part 2 as well, otherwise you will not understand many of the principles and strategies in part 3. I also streamed the audio book in several stages. That means distributed listening to really internalize all the learnings, as well as repetitions of individual episodes that are very interesting for me. The 3rd part is then about building your money machine. In more than fifteen episodes you will learn how to create your own business model that generates passive income, including the topic of real estate as an investment tool and… but let’s start at the beginning. Here are a few of the many, many learnings you get in the podcast “Richer than the Geissens” by Alex Fischer himself.

But first it is important to set up a big goal. You will quickly understand this goal while listening to the podcast.

“30 days off per month!” – Alex Fischer

This may sound unrealistic at first, but if one looks at the passive money flows installed step by step, this goal quickly seems to make sense. Because, as already learned in episode 43, the “self-employed” and “entrepreneurs” are different. The self-employed spend their time on money. Entrepreneurs create structures and machines that earn money.

Small rivers become large ones

How often do you yourself face the problem: “You can’t see the forest for the trees”. A building site here, a building site there, in private life and especially as an entrepreneur. I found this quote myself, as short and simple as it is, extremely constructive and motivating. With regard to my own work, projects but also to further aspects such as public relations or viral effects:

“Small rivers become big rivers.” – Alex Fischer

As confusing as one’s own work often appears, especially when setting up companies for the first time, everything gradually comes together. Alex Fischer also brings many interesting aspects to this, for example this one:

How much do you think you can handle tomorrow? – You’ll overestimate yourself.

How much do you think you can do in a year? – You will underestimate yourself.

Video: 10,000, 100,000… how would Alex Fischer invest?

What is the best way to invest your money? Which investments are really lucrative? What can you invest in to increase your money?

As you learned in the first part of the review of “Richer than the Geissens”, (read here: mindset and being happy) you have to deal with your own mindset before building up (passive) cash flow, equity and buying your first property, in order to become really successful. After our look at the ideals now to our second part, your purpose according to Alex Fischer. What this is, I will explain to you in this review. The Purpose is the basis for almost everything in your life. It helps you to make the right decisions: for yourself, for your success and also “for” your environment. A big part of success is mainly the automation of certain processes, but also your own financial patterns. All this draws its energy from your purpose!

Richer than your mind: Mindset, Purpose, Real Estate & Co.

Important: Currently the book is only available in Germany! I speak German and discovered this book or audio book two weeks ago. Even if you wouldn’t understand a word in the podcast, I wanted to introduce some of the methods and strategies to you!

With over 200.000 readers and various top rankings on Amazon, e.g. 2nd place among career books, the book “Richer than the Geissens” was and is a complete success! So successful, that author Alex Fischer decided to make the audio book available for free to everyone in the future, regardless of whether one can afford it or not. On Spotify, iTunes and other podcast apps you can now learn the strategies of Alex Fischer! He himself has been a real estate millionaire for a long time and holds more than 20,000 square meters in and around Düsseldorf. He wants to pass on his knowledge and timeless wisdom to the next generation of entrepreneurs, but also to all those who are just starting out. And completely free of charge! Your chance for a happier life with financial freedom and lots of know-how about real estate.

In the first of three parts of the book or audiobook you will learn how to form your own mindset. After all, success does not come by chance. Alex Fischer builds a solid foundation for you from principles and strategies of success. These help you – simply put – to achieve financial freedom. The big goal, in five years to become a real estate millionaire with 0 Euro equity! Are you with us?

Here is the second part of my book review of the entry into the business top seller “Richer than the Geissens” by Alex Fischer with learnings that have inspired me. First of all, the Purpose.

Alex Fischer begins by asking, “How the hell do you find your purpose?” In episode 16. How to find your Purpose. It’s about you no longer “only” pursuing goals. You’ll learn what that means in episode 16, here’s a little insight: Henry Ford’s dream was that everyone should drive a car. With the assembly line, he transformed the car into a mass product for everyone.

Steve Jobs wanted to give everyone a tool to make a dent in the universe. Currently, Apple is the most valuable company on Wall Street, with a market value of 920 billion dollars. With computers, MP3 players, but also the smartphone, Apple revolutionized the digital entertainment and mobile phone industry.

Steve Jobs Spirit

What is noticeable episode after episode is the spirit of Steve Jobs. Not only has he changed the world, but part of Alex Fischer’s world has influenced the legend. You can feel that and so there is also some entrepreneurial wisdom from Steve Jobs and insights into the structures of Apple – at times the most valuable company in the world today. Alex always loved the vision of Apple. Apple has changed an entire generation:

“Our customers are the creative and the rebels. We build them the cool tools they need to make a dent in the universe.” – Apple Inc.

This is where Alex gives the tips you need to know to have the knowledge to make dents in the universe. What you learn here in this book is how to build a real freedom and money machine. Knowledge that is often missing from academic paths:

applicable, financial and entrepreneurial education. The missing subject, success in life.

If motivation is lost…

Henry Ford and Steve Jobs had found their purpose. One wanted the car for everyone, the other wanted its users to “make a dent in the universe”.

Alex Fischer also had a moment in life, as he describes in episode 16. How to find your purpose where he lost his drive. He had reached his goal, he made a lot of money with real estate. Alex Fischer had found a way to make a lot of money, real estate, but he still lost the motivation to get up in the morning. A real problem, which every businessman knows. So you become lethargic and demotivated. The reason for a burnout, according to Alex Fischer.

Being happy without goals?!

In the “Be Happy” section, Alex Fischer found out that the most important thing is to pursue his own personal, challenging goal that is as helpful as possible for his own environment. Conversely, if you stray from your goal, this means that you don’t feel happy, or rather, you don’t feel pleasure and you will hate what you are doing at some point.

If you think about goals, then above all about those that you have not reached. Now comes the big clou, the brilliant idea. His thesis:
<“Happiness is on the opposite side of what I don’t want.” – Alex Fischer.
By writing down in a structured way the things you don’t want, don’t like, even hate, in a list you can find exactly the things you want. This way you can use the negative thoughts to formulate the exact opposite of what you want.

Is “goal” equal to “goal”?

Here is a short plug-in from the later episodes of “RADG”. In German the word Ziel stands for the achievement of something. In English there are many definitions that describe a goal, but are to be interpreted quite differently. “Aim”, “target”, “goal” but also “purpose”. Purpose means translated “purpose”, “to intend something” or “to aim at something”. But Purpose is also translated as “task”, further even as “purpose”.

So how do you find your purpose?

What is the big problem when to look for targets? I know this story by Alex Fischer all too well myself. If you think about “goals” and where you see yourself in the future, you often only find the goals you didn’t achieve. It’s frustrating.

Alex Fischer makes a virtue out of necessity, that’s how Alex Fischer got on his “hate list”.

In short: Alex Fischer wrote a list of things he no longer feels like doing. So that they no longer buzz around in his head, but are written down. The name of the list:

“What I don’t like to do. What I don’t want to do anymore. What I really hate to do!” – Alex Fischer

While writing, he noticed that as hard as it is to find things you want to do (goals with a view to all the goals you haven’t reached), it was just as easy to write down things you no longer want to do. The “Dislike List”. The big advantage of this list, because all this out of his head was now on paper, he feels “free as never before”.

Here’s the kicker. Take the things you don’t like and turn them into positive beliefs. An example from the book: “I don’t like doing the same thing over and over again”. Conversely, this means: “I like to find out and apply new things over and over again”. Or “I hate giving my advice to people in sales who don’t appreciate it”. Conversely: “I love giving advice to people who appreciate it”.

This makes it clear what you enjoy and what you do not enjoy. Soon it becomes clear to you and also to Alex Fischer that it was not the job you don’t like, but only individual aspects.

So you make your dislike list

Set up a 2-column Word document or fold a A4 paper upright in the middle

Label the left column with the caption “Do things I don’t like, frustrate or hate”

Start to write down everything you don’t like in the left column, until you can’t think of anything else. Take all areas of life, not only the job, but also relationships, family, friends, hobbies, etc.

If you really, really can’t think of anything else, you should have several pages now – Tip: Alex Fischer had 3 pages

Sort similar things and put them under a common denominator such as “Things I don’t like because I feel overqualified for them”. But leave all the individual items underneath, you will need them later to go into more detail when you work through them.

First if you really can’t think of anything else and the elaboration including headlines, summary, then go to 7th

Formulate the points on the left now bluntly to think without objective or problems. That is, exactly the opposite, on the right side.

After you finish, look again over all the formulated points

Think about your purpose for the first time now, from this you create your formulations (explained in more detail in the podcast or book)

… listen to the other 6 points in the podcast: How to find your purpose

In the podcast and book, Alex Fischer goes into the elaboration in great detail, gives examples and best practices from his life. Tip! In the podcast you also get current, additional comments that you won’t find in the book!

Great: How to change your mindset

Alex Fischer realized that he didn’t hate his job (dealing in real estate), but only individual areas. This led to insight 2): Categorize your individual key points into higher-level categories under which several key points can be grouped. From this, number 3) reflects these insights to find out what you like and want. A very simple example: “I hate bad weather”, on the contrary “I love good weather”. What a realization!

What a realization! But there is more to it than that.

The transformation from negative to positive beliefs. So I can turn my own mindset around and now I know how to bundle negative thoughts and turn them into positive beliefs.

If you want to be successful in life, including professional success, you need more than “just” goals. Much more profound is one’s own mindset and ideals, which are built up and manifest themselves in life. Decisions depend on our ideals. Fortunately, these ideals can be changed, corrected, even completely torn down and renewed. All this with the aim of becoming happy, success not only in private life but also in business. But before it’s about money and your first real estate through generated equity, real estate millionaire and author Alex Fischer, in the podcast of “Richer than the Geissens”, gives a deep insight into the subject of mindset and ideal conceptions. Your prerequisite for success!

RADG – Career Podcast for your bucket list

Important: Currently the book is only available in Germany! I speak German and discovered this book or podcast two weeks ago. Even if you wouldn’t understand a word in the podcast, I wanted to introduce some of the methods and strategies to you!

“Richer than the Geissens” must be on the bucket list for everyone who is looking for success. Top 2 on Amazon for career, 200.000 readers, the numbers speak for themselves. When I streamed the audio book for the first time, I thought that I would be through in a day, far from it! What you learn in this book are long-term strategies that take time to work. Basically, it’s all about becoming successful with real estate within five years with €0 equity.

The podcast contains so many universal and timeless recipes for success! It is best to write along and always take notes while listening. Here is a very memorable quote from Alex Fischer from these episodes that I have written down:

“Strengthen your strengths!” – Alex Fischer

Here I want to point out once again the universality of the audio book “Richer than the Geissens”. For private persons, employees but also entrepreneurs who already generate a good cash flow, the book and audio book is a strong and (for the topic) compact guide.

success in life (and in business)

But before you start to build up cash flow, appropriate cash flow, equity and your very first property, you first have to work on yourself. After all, you are the architect of your own fortune.

To make good decisions, you need knowledge. This knowledge is based on situations, values and conversations that you have experienced in the course of your life. So you make decisions based on what you know every day. Now the big question arises: Do you learn after “Trial & Error”, i.e. do you try to explore all paths yourself, make mistakes, lose time, maybe even go as a self-employed insolvent or do you learn from those who have made it?

Exactly! If you want to succeed, you have to adopt structures and ways of thinking of people who are a positive role model for your goals. Learning from those who have made it is always a good strategy, especially to avoid your own mistakes. The less equity you have, the greater the risk of failure.

So before you start “earning money” start with the absolute basics, your mindset and ideal.

In this review, I will take you on a journey through the first few but central learnings from the first chapters of the free audiobook of “Richer than the Geissens”. You want to be successful? Then get the book or listen to the free podcast by Alex Fischer.

mindset for your life and entrepreneurship

What goals drive us as people, but also as entrepreneurs? In episode 6: Your personal real estate opportunities Alex Fischer discusses the very basic goals that drive us, especially with regard to real estate. Anyone who listens to the podcast “Richer than the Geissens” is pursuing one goal in particular: making money with real estate. Later in the podcast, it goes much deeper into your mind set. At the beginning of the podcast it says “Recognize your personal opportunities in the real estate market”, i.e. which segments, opportunities and goals make sense for you personally?

What is your individual goal?

Alex Fischer mentions many different motives in the podcast that can drive you, from carefree retirement to cash flow through real estate on a grand scale. You do:

Improve your later retirement as effectively as possible,

Convert taxes and duties into private assets,

Earn or improve your living with real estate agency,

Generate additional cash flow before retirement,

Be able to live from the cash flow of rental income or

Like Alex Fischer, you earn your living by selling real estate.

These are only some of the goals and possibilities that people want to realize. Concrete goals help you in general, think about what is really important to you. So you can achieve one goal after the other. For many who are at the beginning of their own career it is very helpful to think about your own ideas at an early stage before you invest a lot of time without having a concrete goal in mind.

So there are many ways, which depend on your goals on the one hand, but also on your personal requirements. This includes, of course, and above all equity capital. If you want to be successful in business, investments are inevitable.

According to Alex Fischer, there is much more to it, because there is always a goal behind the goal, your purpose. But before Alex Fischer goes deeper into the podcast, he asks the basic question: What would be your personally important 3 real estate goals and what is your goal behind the goal? You want to understand what this means in concrete terms? Then listen to episode 6: Your personal real estate opportunities from “Richer than the Geissens”.

You can find these and other goals in the member area of Alex Fischer. In addition, there are concrete study and learning tips on how to reach your individual goal – quickly and effectively. All methods and steps were tested by Alex Fischer himself. Orientation, overview, procedure. An extremely exciting way, where there is a lot to win.

Makes money happy?

Goals are great, the first goal of many entrepreneurs is financial freedom, i.e. equity capital and before that cash flow, in order to have the opportunity to build up their own equity capital in the first place. Money, money, money. Alex Fischer raises the question in episode 7: Makes money (really) happy? Alex Fischer gives a clear and direct answer: No, if it were, everyone in Hollywood would be happy. But it is not like that.

Alex Fischer writes and talks about moments of success in episode 7. Creativity and design as true lucky charms.

Moments of success: Just not for themselves

This is followed in the book by great examples of great moments of success that Alex Fischer has experienced, like many other celebrity examples. Great moments of success that were only supposed to be, mostly for outsiders. For yourself the world looks very different. He shows this with astonishing examples that I have never heard before.

Alex Fischer shows how, for example, Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher, mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner, but also tennis legend Boris Becker, in their greatest moments, have personally felt no success, and this at their absolute peaks of success. Schuhmacher cried at the first victory in Monza. To this day he is the most successful driver Formula 1 history has ever seen. He holds the record of seven world championship titles with 91 victories. His first victory ended in tears, but not with joy. Here you can listen to all the stories in the podcast, in episode 7: Makes money (really) happy.

Reinhold Messner, Boris Becker and Michael Schumacher

When Reinhold Messner reached Mount Everest, “he felt nothing but emptiness and even fell into a depressive mood”. When Boris Becker achieved the victory to the number 1 of the world ranking list, he left the stadium without a word, sat down at a nearby river and cried. Alex Fischer himself had the same experience. 2.7 million with a signature. At the first property he was still completely euphoric, at the next one with 2.3 million not, not at all. He liked the property. So how can one make 2.3 million profit with one signature and then be unhappy?

That sounds familiar

Personal comment: As an entrepreneur, I too know the feeling, especially when you start young. As a young entrepreneur you are happy about your first 4-digit deal, your first 5-digit deal, your first 6-digit deal. In the beginning I also thought that the feeling of happiness increases exponentially. With the first 4-figure amount, the joy was huge, with the first 5-figure amount it was great, with the first 6-figure amount it was manageable and so on. In fact, the feeling of happiness does not increase in proportion to the growth of income. There must be more!

Money? No, creativity and design

Alex now uses an example to describe very nicely what it is all about. It is not about money, it is about design and creativity.

The answer to the question: “What is being happy?” is given by Alex Fischer with a key experience. A little neighbour boy built a perfect snowman, with foundation, carrot nose, everything a good snowman needs. Why? Because! After 5 minutes they tore the snowman apart with the same enthusiasm. Immediately afterwards he started to build an igloo. That’s when Alex Fischer understood what it was all about:
<“It wasn’t owning or managing anything. It was the creative process of creation that gave satisfaction and pleasure.” – Alex Fischer.

video: Implementing a business idea

How to best implement your business idea

positive thinking: mindset

Basically, the implementation of your goals is about a positive mindset. What do above-average happy people have in common? They take their life, their work, but also their relationships playfully, according to Alex Fischer. Why were Alex Fischer, Boris Becker, Michael Schumacher but also Reinhold Messner himself sad?

“It was the success that ended the game.” – Alex Fischer

Repeating this game is boring and does not give the same satisfaction. Felt it goes only downhill from now on. “Only” making more money doesn’t make you happy anymore. The big question:
<“What do you enjoy? What makes you happy?” – Alex Fischer.

Principles by Alex Fischer

His basic rules from episode 7 in the podcast “Richer than the Geissens”:

Happiness is created through a creative, extroverted process (such as building a snowman, creating a valuable thing).

There is no happiness without interest in the environment.

Increasing income only makes you happy to the extent that it removes obstacles that restrict your basic needs (financial freedom).

The more valuable your own contributions to the environment seem to you, the higher the happiness.

The more you do for your environment and help it, the greater the personal satisfaction from it.

Without a challenging goal, happiness does not seem possible.

If the challenging goal is reached and no new one is in sight, this will result in unhappiness (you need a new goal)

These rules show why the “rich and beautiful” are often not happy. They no longer have a new goal that is not attainable for them. What a powerful insight. Financial freedom alone does not make people happy. What will make you happy is to achieve new goals yourself. For you and your environment. As Alex Fischer says: “Self-esteem is the foundation of self-confidence”. Here you will learn a lot in the later episodes of part 3. There you will learn about your resource list and strengths. These assets, combined with your Purpose (the big goal) and the industry market niche list, show you the most effective way to achieve financial freedom and happiness.

A positive mindset is what counts! Findings from “Richer than the Geissens” by Alex Fischer, episode 7: Makes money (really) happy?

Reason and ideals

The fifth chapter of the book or episode 10 in the podcast is about your own mind. Episode 10: How your mind evaluates and what tricks it plays in the process introduces the topic “ideal ideas”. Simply explained by means of an example in the audio book: A child, for example, cannot handle money, it has no comparative values yet. Our own mind constantly compares new information that we perceive with old information in order to be able to assess current, new situations. But it is the same in business. Are 1,000 visitors per month good or 100,000? Without a reference to what you have already learned (analyses from software, conversations with people from similar industries, etc.), you cannot make a statement about whether the number of visitors is good (ideal) or not. So the principle of your own ideal is very basic for the evaluation of situations in everyday life.

Every one of us has ideal conceptions that have developed into areas of life such as relationships, business, money, etc. You look at the situation, compare it with the ideal state and find similarities and differences. Alex Fischer shows this by means of financial transactions: His goal was to earn as much money as possible at one go. Opportunities with low but regular income were of no interest to him. It did not match his ideal.

But can these ideals be wrong?

Example: Ideal in a relationship

Example partnership, he writes: “Lifestyle magazines often paint a false picture of partnership. For example “butterflies in the stomach, even after 10 years of relationship”. Then he refers to a woman. This woman has a perfect husband, he tries hard, shows affection, but the butterflies in his stomach are gone. Her consequences: She compares her relationship with the ideal image she created before. She then ends the relationship. The butterflies in her stomach came because of the insecurity and uncertainty about what the new partner and the new relationship will bring.

Marks: “Wrong ideals lead to fatal mistakes.” – Alex Fischer

We constantly compare situations with our ideals. Questioning and exploring your own ideals can protect you from making the wrong decisions. Alex Fischer provides further examples, for example from the financial sector around known, non-existent and unconscious information. You have to recognize and correct wrong ideals. Alex Fischer sums up: Make sure you have the right ideals in all areas of your life. Wrong ideals lead to wrong decisions. Information that you do not have (white information), you should uncover and correct.

The examples and much more on the subject of ideal expectations can be heard in episode 10: How your mind evaluates and what tricks it plays in the process.

luck outside the comfort zone

Being able to overcome fears, the unknown, makes you happy, according to Alex Fischer in episode 11: happiness lies outside the comfort zone. Because happiness lies outside the comfort zone. But to leave the comfort zone, you first have to find the right motivation. Very few people leave their familiar terrain.

The comfort zone is around you like a fence. What can you do? What do you dare to do? As you learn in the book or podcast, mere administration does not make you happy. “Sure, the fence has advantages. Inside is safety, outside is potential failure. But security also means boredom and finally emerging thoughts like insecurity, because you have to protect your achievements. Beyond the fence lies happiness. The fence can be protection or a “gateway to new happiness and new abilities”.

It can be extremely enriching for you personally to deal with the risk and of course the risk of crossing your comfort zone. Set yourself a goal, divide it into small stages.

If you decide on “new ways”, then I have a little personal story here, fitting to a quotation of Alex Fischer from part 2 of “Richer than the Geissens”. Your own values determine which people you attract yourself. Even a friend of mine, who owns a few properties today at the age of under 30, started looking for apartments early on, specifically near successful people. He himself is from Cologne and then, for example, took an apartment in the Kranhaus, where stars like Lukas Podolski (national team) will live. Accordingly, his day started with the elevator to the underground car park, there were small talks with neighbours and downstairs there were Porsche, but also two Ferraris. This is not to show how important material value is, but to show how you can change your own mindset, according to Alex Fischer, by your own actions.

“People surround themselves with people who have the same values.” – Alex Fischer

Symbolic interactionism

The next episode is difficult to summarize in a few words. It’s about individual perception and the joint coordination of symbols. An extremely exciting chapter that you can hear here, episode 12: What I can learn for life based on traffic rules. Briefly described it is about “symbolic interactionism” using a parable, the traffic signs. Traffic signs are exactly defined and by learning them intensively, there is no chaos on the streets. Alex Fischer now goes to the level of language, because such symbols can be traffic signs, but also words. Words are defined just as precisely, their definitions can be found in the dictionary. So we do not have to speculate when we hear a word. We know what it is about when we read or hear a certain word in a certain context.

We get to know the symbols in the course of life. Traffic symbols by the driving school teacher, words for example by our parents in childhood. We take this information and assign it, so it is associated with symbols and meanings. If you remember the example of the relationship (above in the article), it is especially our ideals that cause wrong decisions when we compare wrong facts with new situations, in the example it was the butterflies in our stomach, like on the first day and that after more than 10 years of relationship. The couple’s goal must therefore be to harmonize their own symbols and values through joint discussions. So that false ideals are corrected. An extremely exciting chapter that you can hear here, episode 12: What I can learn for life from traffic rules.

I can also recommend this tip to all entrepreneurs for their team:
The learning of these individual assets is great. Before you can name concrete goals, you need to take a look at mindsets and ideals. They accompany you all day, even at night in your dreams. If you go to your goal (your purpose) in the later episodes, you will certainly have to correct some of your own ideals or even throw them overboard. It also becomes extremely interesting in the later episodes with regard to “money” and “making money”.

The second part is about the Purpose after Alex Fischer. What that is, I will explain to you in this review. The Purpose is the basis for almost everything in your life.

If you have read the book “Richer than the Geissens” by Alex Fischer, you know how you can become a real estate millionaire in 5 years with 0 Euro equity (your diligence and ambition assumed). If you are looking for real success in life and in your job, this book should be part of your mandatory reading! For all those for whom “Richer than the Geissens” is still completely new, I would like to discuss three or four of my favourite episodes from the free audio book today (yes, you heard right, free of charge). In the book or audio book Alex Fischer reveals extremely many strategies and methods with which one can achieve just as much success as he himself. When I read the book for the first time, something happened that rarely happens, I actually repeated chapters! What makes the book so ingenious, I want to explain to you today, at least in part! My tip for your professional success, financial freedom, or in other words for “becoming happy”.

Learning: The seven-contact rule (also for dates?)

Important: Currently the book is only available in Germany! I speak German and discovered this book or podcast two weeks ago. Even if you wouldn’t understand a word in the podcast, I wanted to introduce some of the methods and strategies to you!

I would like to add this rule to one of my most important learnings. On the one hand, because the seven-contact rule is an ingenious procedure for new contacts in business life . But if you listen carefully, it is also a strong way for singles and dates, keyword: work-life-balance!

In Order 40: The Seven-Contact Rule Alex Fischer goes into the rule in a very fundamental way, but also provides direct examples and finally a step-by-step procedure. The rule roughly says: A contact needs at least 7 contacts until it is “ripe”, only then you can start to load it with heavier food.

people do business with people, for people

Implementation – step by step procedure (short):

At the first contact, the goal is to make the person opposite you a little better off than before.

A message follows immediately after the conversation, thanking you for the pleasant conversation.

After a while (not too fast) I get a call for a second appointment with approximate content: It was a very interesting conversation, I still have 2 or 3 ideas, I would like to know more about you

In the following conversation you look for the bottleneck of your counterpart, ask questions all the time, but only 30% of the time, your counterpart talks 70%

… all details and the next 3 steps you will hear in Episode 40: The seven-contact rule

Learning: Be entrepreneur, not self-employed

Everyone knows the saying: “Time is money”. Money can be spent and earned. Time can only be given, not given back. Time is therefore the highest good and once it has passed, it can never be retrieved. In episode 43: “With great power comes great responsibility” Alex Fischer discusses the central factor in our lives: time.

be independent or be an entrepreneur?

Alex Fischer draws a line in “Richer than the Geissens” between the terms ‘being independent’ and ‘being an entrepreneur’. Self-employed people exchange their time for money by taking orders and doing work. You should be an entrepreneur! Why? Entrepreneurs build themselves a productive machine. This machine constantly and regularly generates cash flow. That means, as an entrepreneur you arrange your income in such a way that it is constantly increased without your own and immediate action.

How this works is explained in the following episodes of the podcast, or in Episode 43: With great power comes great responsibility.

Learning: Building machines ensures constant cash flow

.
Machines ensure continuous production. If you build a large machine, you will always generate cash flow. Another mistake I have made! I myself have already written 4 books, but I never thought about making more out of it “than just one book”. That’s why this episode (43) fascinated me so much that I had to write about it to pass on some of Alex Fischer’s thoughts and laws. Alex Fischer brings in very interesting aspects concerning “building machines”. Because machines are not only found in the manufacturing industry. Even a book can be such a machine if it sells 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000 copies – that’s right!

This is where the podcast also benefits from the design of the endings, because here the most important learnings of the individual episodes are summarized again, but there are also thought-provoking impulses like this one, regarding the building of machines:

your task: At the end, think for yourself how you could build five machines in your area!

I should also start to expand my existing projects. But it is important to learn from a later episode.

According to Alex Fischer one should always test projects on “low speed”. He brings here a very fitting and pictorial metaphor. New projects are, in short, like the production of a new Formula 1 racing car. During the first tests on the road, you would never start at the highest speed. You would start low, see if everything works, if parts drag or strange noises appear that shouldn’t be there. Only when everything fits, the rpm is increased slowly, bit by bit.

Conversely: With my books I have a good basis. All are in the market, could be tested over 6 months on the basis of sales, reviews, recommendations and so on. The most successful could, I should expand. The best would be according to the principles of Alex Fischer, in an automated solution that creates a machine for me. For me this would mean: Why is there no audio book recorded? Why are there no supplementary video courses? Why are there no additional slides and checklists?

What can you do with this learning?

Here, too, one can find further opportunities, which I could apply myself through Alex Fischer’s tips. In another later episode he quotes the US giant Rockefeller. He said: “Give away the oil lamp and earn money with the oil” – brilliant. But first let’s continue with my most important lessons from “Richer than the Geissens”.

As already described in the introduction, I want to go into the learnings that are central for me in the first and second listening of the podcast.

This one quote belongs to it:

Learning: Small rivers become big ones

You can learn this and more in Episode 44: Why many ideas remain just dreams.

Now it goes directly back into your own mind games. For example this one I want to share with you. I myself give lectures to up to 300 people. Usually it is about “Business Creation”, more simply said “Founding companies in digital markets”. In some presentations I have two slides with real big names of the digital world like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezoz but also Bill Gates. It is interesting that all of them had moments of failure. Jeff Bezos, for example, wanted to build a competing model for Ebay, failed. He wanted to build a competitor model to Google with “A7”, failed. These slides are intended to show: everybody makes mistakes.

Did Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, but also Bill Gates let setbacks distract them from their vision, their path? No, never.

Alex Fischer also has this aspect in his podcast, but takes it to a new level.

“In short: Failure is always part of it, but ideally you fail closer and closer to your goal. – Alex Fischer

Especially for young entrepreneurs extremely interesting in the statement. Because with every attempt you get better and failure on the way is part of it, as long as you always get further than you fall behind.

Learning: Find the cause of the problems

As I said, I hear episodes twice, some even three times to internalize them. The “dirty slut” is another learning that I listened to twice. I think that this point will probably have relevance for my own future as well. Therefore briefly explained:

“Behind everything, prolonged suboptimal situations are always dirtbags.” – Alex Fischer

Alex Fischer describes this model in detail and practically with an example. When he bought a new car, he had to go to the dealer several times for repairs, despite the new car. If problems occur again, one should think about it after the second or third time. Is it because of the individual parts or is there a fundamental problem? As it turned out, the real problem was the battery of the car. It was broken and had current peaks that delivered far too high voltages, so electronic components broke down.

A big advantage of the book and audiobook are clearly the examples that simply illustrate what it is all about!

Extremely interesting, if one considers even more often to search for patterns that underlie a certain, more often occurring problem. Instead of spending time and energy on solving individual problems, you should use your time to find the source of the problems! But where does the name dirty slingshot come from? Listen to it yourself in Evolume 46: How to set priorities.

Learning: Rockefeller’s wisdom

The Rockefeller Archive Center / Public domain

One can always learn from the great entrepreneurial giants of history. As much as the world changes, the structures remain the same. Apple invites developers to take over app development for the iStore and then earns about 30% of every sale. Tinder makes his dating app available for free and earns in the end by using it. Do they act on Rockefeller’s wisdom: “Give away the oil lamp and make money on the oil”?

John D. Rockefeller himself founded Clark & Rockefeller in Cleveland (USA) in 1859 and ran a small commission business here. After one year, his first turnover was already 500,000 US dollars. A few years later he entered the oil business. But Rockefeller also had a fine nose for business, so he sold relatively new petroleum lamps, even gave them away. The new petroleum owners now had to buy regular supplies in the form of petroleum and petroleum was available at Rockefeller

“Give away the oil lamp and earn money with the oil” – John D. Rockefeller

Alex Fischer even talks about how Steve Jobs and Apple cached it step by step, from iPod to iTunes to iPhone and MacBook. Strategy, strategic planning, that’s what the second part of “Richer than the Geissens” is about. These 27 strategies are available in Alex Fischer’s free member area. They are all compressed in an 11-page PDF as a checklist.
