Rebekka Ruétz – Power meets Color

If anyone brings sustainability to the runway loud and proud, it’s Rebekka Ruétz. Her looks literally scream future – full of colors, cuts, layering and attitude. Location Berlin Mitte, which was impressive – a 30 meter long screen as an intro.

“Stylish, classic, almost Chanel. I’ve loved Rebekka Ruétz for 10 years and what she does is fashion.”

The show was great, the clothes were what you would call stylish.

My top 6 shows for 2025?

Heroin Kids – Berlin streetwear without filters

Heroin Kids stands for the raw aesthetics of the Berlin street like hardly any other label: dark statements, hard cuts, DIY spirit and anti-aesthetics as a clear stance against slick mainstream fashion. Show right next to the showroom. Small, fine, little seating – but next to DAMUR clearly the show with the most “Berlin”. Explicit, little fabric, lots of wow. Kinky, SM, pure Berlin. I’ve known both designers for years.

BUZIGAHILL – Uganda on the Berlin asphalt

BUZIGAHILL brings streetwear from Uganda directly to the Berlin catwalk – rough, political, blatantly authentic. A strong mix of protest, identity and a lot of attitude – exactly what Berlin fashion needs.

#DAMUR – Fashion after midnight

Anyone who knows DAMUR knows: club culture meets cutting edge. Berlin labels like this show that fashion is not quiet. The show took place in the legendary KitKatClub Berlin. Anyone wearing more than a bathing suit was practically overdressed.

“Extremely good audience, great location – and then the show by DAMUR. Between booties and soap bubbles.”

We’ve known each other since the show with Riccardo Simonetti on ZDF. That’s why we were all the more pleased. Neon-green hair, soap bubbles, cool vibes.

Kilian Kerner – Emotion & Elegance

Kilian Kerner achieves what many try to do: real emotion on the runway. His looks are never superficial – they tell stories. The show took place in the Uber Arena – one of Berlin’s most famous spots, right on the Spree.

“His fashion was as always: Hollywood, red carpet, big emotions.”

If anyone can do it, he can. His topic: the GDR and tens of thousands of missing children – too much for here, hence the focus on fashion.

Danny Reinke – Couture from Berlin

For me, Danny Reinke is one of the most important designers of the new generation. His shows are not just fashion – they are political, queer, handmade, pure attitude.

“This time we went on ‘The Hunt’ with him – Uber Arena again.”

The intro was already strong: great videos, sound design, hunting as a theme. Then the fashion: pure renaissance, natural materials, wide cuts, quality you can see.

Anja Gockel – Empowerment, staged live

With Anja Gockel, it’s never just about fashion – it’s always about a feeling. Strong women, strong words, strong cuts. Her Fashion Week show is a manifesto every time. I film along, interview guests and show you everything you would otherwise only see with an invitation.

Marcel Ostertag – It’s always personal

Marcel Ostertag doesn’t make fashion for likes – but for people. Every outfit reflects personality, experience and attitude. Anyone who knows Ostertag knows that there is always a real signature here. The show was to the point – perfectly choreographed, colorful and very feminine.

Tell the Truth – Highlight in the concrete bunker

This will be the showdown: Tell the Truth presents its new collection – in the bunker, rough, loud, clear. In the middle of a Berlin bunker – stuffy, hot, hundreds of guests, 95 percent with Instagram or TikTok – welcome to Tell the Truth. The looks? Loud, raw, yet wearable. One of the shows with the biggest hype of the week.

Not only the fashion was unique but also the show.

Danny Reinke: the new summer collection shows through many frills and flowers

Poetic renascence – inspired by the 50s, the new collection of Danny Reinke shows many sides, long socks and bottle shoes, shorts and long tops. The dresses are in contrast to each other, a black dark dress with an impressive headpiece stands next to a white dress with a long train which already reminds of a wedding dress. However, it does not remain white for long. The painter Manuela Karin Knaut comes towards the end of the show with lots of paint and brushes on the model and paints on the white dress. A light blue dress with dark blue accents tied in ribbons around the dress falls in a straight A line. This show shows all sides from classic to almost gothic like dresses.

His career began in Hanover, where he was taught tailoring as a fashion designer and ladies’ tailor. During a semester abroad he also attended the Kraków Schools of Art and Fashion Design. At the FahModa Academy, where he completed his studies, he now works as a lecturer for design and technical drawing. The young designer achieved his breakthrough with haute couture and the material that many fashion lovers stay away from – tulle. The material can still be seen in his collections today. He also won first prize, the golden Charlie. He founded his label in Berlin in 2014 with Julien Reich.

Social Media says that its collections are based on exciting concepts. The outfits are not only high fashion, also comfort and functionality play a big role. As a trained tailor, his craft is naturally in focus and shows everyone his fashion with clear structures and designs. His nerd looks are out of the ordinary. Bourgeois materials such as virgin wool or checked patterns or fabrics such as silk and brocade – mixed with bright colours and cuts – make the looks unique. Jury members also find his work outstanding and professional. With a lot of energy and humour he creates a perfection that everyone likes.

Also this year Danny Reinke presents his collection at the Berlin Fashion Week. Besides celebrities like Stefanie Giesinger, Franziska Knuppe and others it is the highlight on Wednesday evening.
