FIV: Hello Julia! How are you doing? Can you tell us about your world and your career path?

Julia: I’m fine thank you I hope you are too!

Today I am an entrepreneur, model and influencer. I participated in the Miss France election 3 years ago as Miss French Riviera and I arrived in the semi-finals of the Beijing Express adventure last year.

Remède – Julia Sidi Atman’s first unisex perfume

FIV: On October 24th, you launched your very first Remedy fragrance. Congratulations on this great project! How did you get the urge to embark on this entrepreneurial adventure? Can you tell us about Remède and your future projects?

Julia: I’ve always dreamed of creating my own perfume. But it was an unattainable dream for several years until I decided to take it seriously. I created “Remède” after a love break-up, I had to focus on something other than my heartache. Remedy is aptly named because it was and still is mine. I try to share its energy and power with as many people as possible.

As for my future projects, I am working on the new fragrance campaign, something more personal that will be released in January 2021.

5 tips on how to become a Business woman

FIV: What are your 5 tips for becoming a business woman?

Julia :

1. My first piece of advice is to choose your surroundings carefully. For the creation of Remède, I have surrounded myself only with kind and creative people.
2. My second piece of advice is to be passionate about your project, the goal is for you to be happy to get up in the morning and soothed before going to bed at night.
3. The third piece of advice is to stay positive as much as possible. Every problem has a solution even when you think you have reached the end, I swear you can still try and find something better. Never really give up.
4. The fourth council, remains curious about everything, all the time. Take an interest, get informed, meet people who are in the environment you are in, know that you always have new things to learn and discover. To improve what you already have.
5. And the last piece of advice, the fifth one which is the most important for me, be creative. You have to have imagination, take what there is to take from everything, take inspiration from everything, from your surroundings, from your environment. Even use evil to transform it into something positive. Use your imagination and your child’s soul.

Artistic inspirations with Julia Sidi Atman

FIV: Julia, in addition to being a business woman, you are a real artist! Where does this passion for painting come from? Which artist inspires you the most?

Julia: Before participating in Miss France, I was in art school. I’ve always been passionate about it. My favourite artist is Henri Matisse and not only because he lived on the French Riviera, I love his colourful universe. Painting soothes me, when I’m stressed or when I feel like I’m everywhere at once, it allows me to concentrate and be in my bubble.

Fashion trends Autumn-Winter 2020-2021

FIV: What are your MUST-HAVE Fashion for this Autumn-Winter 2020 season?

Julia: For this season, my must-have is a warm hoodie and why break it up with a blazer jacket to give it a more assertive style.

FIV: What did the Miss France adventure bring you?

Julia: The Miss France adventure changed my life so I would never say anything bad about it. It made me realise that I had the abilities and that anything is possible even if being judged on my looks was new to me. But it’s forging. I still preferred my Beijing express adventure which was more authentic.

FIV: Can you share with us your sports routine to keep in shape and have a model figure?

Julia: To be totally honest with you, I don’t do any sport, I would have to start haha!

Today, FIV Magazine presents the collaborations of the House of Dior and dance. A mix of art for the body. When dance and fashion come together, it’s always a successful gamble! Dance has the power to showcase the creations of designers and fashion has the power to sublimate the bodies and movements of dancers.

Dior – Ready-to-wear Fashion Show Spring/Summer 2019

On Monday, September 24, the House of Dior presented its new Spring/Summer 2019 ready-to-wear collection inspired by the world of dance. The fashion show was a true artistic performance where 8 dancers walked around the Dior mannequins and under a rain of rose petals. An exceptional show at the Hippodrome de Longchamps where Maria Grazia Chuiri was inspired by dance as a liberating act.

The artistic director of Dior called on Israeli choreographer Sharon Eyal for the choreography. Sharon Eyal danced with the Batsheva Dance Company before becoming its artistic director and then choreographer in residence. She has created more than 15 pieces for the Batsheva Dance Company and more than 30 choreographies for dance companies around the world such as Half-life for the Royal Swedish Ballet, Feelings and Sara for the Nederland Dance Theatre or Soul Chain for Staatstheater Mainz. The young choreographer has also received many awards such as the prestigious Fedora Van Cleef & Arpels Prize for ballet in 2017.

The Hippodrome de Longchamps was decorated for the occasion with quotes from dancers and choreographers Isadora Duncan, Martha Graham, Pina Baush and Sharon Eyal. Inspiring quotes that can be found in Maria Grazia Chuiri’s creations: long dresses draped in the spirit of Isadora Duncan, dancer’s tulle skirts, feathered jackets, tights, dance suits and the world of Hip Hop with sneakers and other more modern creations. Through this collection, Maria Grazia Chuiri wished to pay homage to Monsieur Dior and to sublimate the modern woman who dances.

Dior x The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma – Ballet Nuit Blanche

From March 29 to April 2, 2019, the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma paid tribute to contemporary music composer Philip Glass with 3 ballets, including Dior’s Nuit Blanche. Maria Grazia Chuiri was keen to collaborate with Eleonora Abbagnato, principal dancer of the Paris Opera and artistic director of the Ballet of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. In fact, they both have an atypical background between Italy and France. Eleonora Abbagnato was chosen to be the principal dancer of the Ballet Nuit Blanche with her German partner Friedemann Vogel, principal dancer of the Stuttgart Ballet. Ballet Dior had 16 dancers and was choreographed by Sébastien Bertaud.

Dior has created sublime costumes with materials that are typical of the aesthetics of classical dance, such as tulle, mesh, light and supple materials. In homage to Monsieur Dior, silk flowers were created in the Atelier Fusion Art in Boulogne. In total, 3200 hours of work, 400 meters of tulle, more than 1500 silk flowers and 8 seamstresses.

Dance lessons with the Dior dancers

During the period of confinement, the House of Dior called upon its dancers and partners, including Germain Louvet, principal dancer of the Opéra National de Paris, Eleonora Abbagnato, principal dancer of the Opéra National de Paris and director of the Ballet of the Teatro dell’ Opera di Roma, Fridemann Vogel, principal dancer of the Stuttgart Ballet in a duet with Sebastien Bertaud. These 3 interludes allowed both dancers and non-dancers to dance with professionals at home. For those who missed this prestigious moment, you can view the Dior dance lessons on Youtube for free.

Maria Grazia Chuiri strengthened Monsieur Dior’s connection with dance and brought dance into the House of Dior’s heritage.

This establishment offers a “Bistrot Marseillais” decor with an OM pennant, card games and petanque balls. You will live a summer moment in the heart of the Provencal atmosphere and the festive spirit of Marseille, the city honoured by the BHV MARAIS this season. Balmain: French Haute Couture & Prêt-à-Porter

Balmain or Pierre Balmain S.A. is a fashion company founded in 1945 by the French fashion designer Pierre Balmain and based in Paris. Particularly in the 1950s and 1960s, the Balmain company, which has also been offering perfume since 1947, was one of the leading international fashion companies in the upmarket Parisian fashion scene with elegant haute couture for women alongside Dior and Jacques Fath. After the sale of the company by Pierre Balmain in 1977 and less successful times from the 1980s onwards, Balmain was owned by a French investor group since 1995 and was on the verge of insolvency in 2004. It was only in 2006 that Balmain, which has been producing high-priced prêt-à-porter fashion for women since 1982 and, with interruptions, for men since 1986, regained its reputation worldwide as a trendsetting and sought-after fashion brand in the upper price segment. Balmain’s haute couture fashion was presented for the last time in 2003 and was discontinued in 2004 as part of the restructuring. Since June 2016 the company has been owned by the investment fund Mayhoola for Investments from Qatar.

“Own who you are” is the motto of the women’s collection 2020, inspired by Rousteing’s own past. As the documentary film about the collection shows, he only recently found out that his biological parents are Somali and Ethiopian. His handling of this existential insight and his experience with adoption and rejection can also be artistically reflected in this collection.

These thousands of studs on the eye-catching oversized black bouclé blazer or on the pagoda skirts with origami texture are meant to make a statement for Balmain. The entire event, which took place in the Jardin des Plantes in Paris, was dedicated to support for aid organisations against AIDS. The fashion was typically Balmain: Loud, sparkly, confident. Many of the men and women who march across the runway today are dressed in designs based on protective armour from every age – from the medieval chain mail shirt and today’s military khaki to futuristic leather and nylon stockings. “Fashion is a revolution, not an evolution,” is the appropriate statement.

This new collection is inspired by what is on offer on the catwalks, picking up on some of Olivier Rousteing’s most famous signatures. Thick fringes, quilted leather and impressive embellishments are also typical of the new collection. To ensure that the models also look good on the catwalk, Creative Director Rousteing has teamed up with some of Italy’s most famous leather masters to match the bags’ colour palette to the latest outfits in the current collection.

Chanel – Timelessly elegant fashion in the name of female emancipation

Today’s fashion giant was brought to life in 1913 by Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel. At the age of 30, the Frenchwoman, who was born from a poor background, opened her first Chanel boutique in Deauville, France. Her wide dresses and rather comfortable cuts met with both rejection and applause at first. Her simple yet elegant designs were untypical of the 1910s fashion. The famous ‘Little Black’ later helped the style icon to international success. Since its breakthrough, the brand has also been celebrated for its quilted leather handbags with quilted seams and metal link chains. The Chanel No. 5 perfume is also one of the absolute must-haves for every Chanel fan.

Glamorous and bold fashion for winter

The winter outfits always have leather boots with high heels despite wind and weather. Likewise, the elaborate hairstyles are dispensed with in winter. In contrast to the hairstyles in summer, here the hair is tied together only to a simple braid or simply combed open back.

Elegant dresses and classic accessories

For Virginie Viard, the mirror staircase is the starting point for every collection. Over the past 30 years, explains Chanel, it has always been Virginie Viard who has worked closely with the Métiers d’Art Ateliers, researching and experimenting with them. She opens her first Métiers d’Art collection as successor to Karl Lagerfeld with black coats made of soft cashmere bouclé, decorated with chiffon ribbons embroidered with gold-coloured pearls and sequins.

Autumnal collection with cool tones and casual cuts

In the style of the 1968 film “The Does” by French director Claude Chabrol, female models walked together across the catwalk and chatted like confidants at first glance. The models wore stylish black leather boots in a retro look, with a bell-shaped brandy collar in the middle of the calf, which became the leitmotif of the collection.

Exciting and innovative outfits in a quiet environment

For her haute couture debut, Virginie Viard chose the backdrop of a library. The library was inspired by the library in Gabrielle Chanel’s daytime apartment on Rue Cambon (the legendary designer slept in the Ritz next door) with its chic bindings in gorgeous chestnut colours and by Galignani, the legendary bookshop on Rue de Rivoli, which counted bibliophile Karl Lagerfeld among its most important customers.

In a gloomy yet cheerful show, in which airiness and substance, shrugging elegance and unbridled joy were captured, the farewell to the tremendous talent of Karl Lagerfeld was framed just as he had imagined. He led us on a beautiful day to a place high in the mountains. It was a snow-covered refuge – a piece of the Chanel sky, seen from a distance that was touchingly difficult to bear.

Delicate dresses and stylish hairstyles for the summer

One thing is particularly striking in the summer collections. The collections for the warmer seasons usually include dresses rather than trousers or skirts. As described above, the models’ hair is often more elaborately draped, gelled or sprayed in summer.

Unique prêt-à-porter on the roofs of Paris

Up on the roof chez Chanel, a procession of long-legged girls on flat heels, appearing in tweed playsuits, tiny silk trousers, garçonne dresses and small bell-shaped skirts. Where Lagerfeld may have worn funny pun accessories, it was Richard’s instinct to undress and emphasize the essence of the silhouette and tweed Chanel textures in a related context – who could dare to imitate his wit, after all?

The Dior Women’s Autumn-Winter 2020/2021: The divine Female

Inspired by emblematic figures of Italian feminist art from the 1960s and 1970s, with the Autumn-Winter 2020-2021 ready-to-wear collection Maria Grazia Chiuri continues her questioning of the multiple and immutable links between the body, feminism and femininity. Captivated by photos from her teenage years, the Creative Director envisioned an initiatory path to self-assertion, through art and fashion. Shaping the clothing, checks and polka dots, long and pleated skirts, and black and white forge a sense of liberation that bridges identity and sisterhood. Conceived by the collective artist Claire Fontaine, the show scenography highlights the words ‘I Say I’ – translated from the manifesto ‘Io Dico Io’ by Carla Lonzi. The runway is covered with pages from the newspaper Le Monde, an adaptation of the work ‘Newsfloor’, titled ‘Le Monde Pixélisé’, after a Robert Capa photograph of the artist Henri Matisse in 1949, while luminous phrases are suspended like woke subtitles. A singularly creative way to explore the multiple facets of female subjectivity, and the perpetual evolution of the feminine.

For this new collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri has chosen the tile as the guiding thread. Monsieur Dior was very fond of tiles. For him, they brought a youthful side and a touch of fantasy to clothing both elegant and casual. The designer was inspired by the men’s wardrobe (shirts and ties) or the hippie style of the 70s with fringed ponchos and logotype scarves to be tied in the hair.
