In the interview with our magazine, we talk to Elvis about his life and specifically his life in Spain. A few months ago he emigrated to Spain and of course we asked ourselves why? Elvis tells us about his background to emigrate and why he chose Spain. In addition, he tells us a hotspot that we should definitely visit and tips for people who also want to go away. Besides the whole emigration topic, Elvis participated in the music video of Apache 207 and talked about his experiences. Last but not least, we went back to the beginning of his social media career and asked him what inspired him to share his life publicly on social platforms. “It was like a sign for me to do it”.

FIV: Hello dear Elvis, thank you very much for taking the time for this interview today. Let’s start directly with the first question! For those who don’t know you yet, you emigrated to Spain. What were your backgrounds for this step?

Elvis: I love to travel and have been to Spain several times for vacation. Since I have always liked Spain very much. During the lockdown in Germany I was bored and I was on YouTube. There was a documentary suggested to me about emigrants in Spain. I was so fascinated by this documentary and it was already clear to me that I really wanted to do it. It was like a sign for me to do it.

Spain? Climate, landscape, people & sea

FIV: How nice that the lockdown has more or less turned into something positive for you! Why Spain exactly? What do you personally like so much about Spain?

Elvis: The climate, the landscape, the people and especially the sea. I love swimming so much and went swimming at least 2x a week in Germany.

Enjoy life & shift down a gear

FIV: Definitely understandable reasons! Now you’ve been living there for some time. What have you learned so far from living in Spain?

Elvis: I learned from the people here to enjoy life and take it down a notch and that little things in life make you a lot happier.

Elvis reveals hotspots & places in Spain

FIV: That sounds very inspiring. Can you already tell us hotspots or places in Spain where everyone should go?

Elvis: I live in Alicante and am a big fan of the Costa Blanca. My favorite hotspot is the beautiful town of Calpe. There you can find the building “La Muralla Roja”, they were designed by the Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill. It’s just so beautiful and you have such a great view of the sea there.

FIV: Wow! Do you have any tips for our readers who are also considering emigrating?

Elvis: Many people write in my comments that they don’t dare or are afraid that it won’t work out. I can only recommend everyone to do it if you want to emigrate. Because you gain so much life experience and you can get out of your comfort zone and learn new things like a new language. It doesn’t have to be forever, whether it’s just for 1 year or more, no one can take away the time and the experience. You can always go back to Germany and you have nothing to lose. My motto is: Make memories every day.

Bucketlist destinations: besides Spain America

FIV: You already mentioned that you love to travel. Do you have another destination on your bucket list besides Spain?

Elvis: I’ve never been to America before. Even as a small child, I was fascinated by all the US series and would like to get a picture of it myself and experience this country.

FIV: Besides emigrating, you also participated in the music video of Apache207. Would you like to summarize your experience for us?

Elvis: It was such a cool day and shoot. The crew of Apache207 was mega nice and I was surprised about the atmosphere on set. You felt like you would be friends with everyone for years, the atmosphere was very friendly and to Apache207 himself, he is very likeable and a correct guy who stayed on the ground. I am an Apache207 fan and like his music a lot and I have to say, from one or the other I celebrated so much and had the opportunity to meet in person, I was disappointed. With Apache207 it was so the complete opposite. My highlight of the day, we ate with the crew in the evening all together pizza.

Sing or play an instrument? I wish..

FIV: That really sounds like a great day and shoot! Are you perhaps also musical and sing or play an instrument?

Elvis: I wish I had a talent for singing. Unfortunately, I can neither sing nor play an instrument. But if I find the time sometime in my life, I would like to learn to play guitar and electric guitar.

“Would like to encourage other people today”

FIV: After all, it’s never too late to learn something new. Last but not least, we’d like to talk about your social media career. What inspired you to share your life on social media in general?

Elvis: In my school days, I was unfortunately not that popular and never had many friends and spent my free time on the internet gambling and using social media. I was also not confident at the time. By chatting on different platforms and communicating with many people online, I became more confident and at some point it happened that I started sharing the first posts on social media. I never expected my community to grow so big. I am so grateful for that and today I want to encourage other people with my videos.

Santiago de Chile: Urban Oasis in South America

Santiago is not just an exciting urban jungle. Green parks like the Parque Bicntenario are perfect for countless sporting activities. Go cycling or pedal boating, jogging or just lie relaxed in the grass and let your soul dangle. You want to change your perspective and see Santiago from above. In addition to the Andes and the countless skyscrapers, the hilly landscape offers numerous vantage points that give you a beautiful view of the city.

Where is Santiago de Chile located?

The capital and largest city of Chile is located between coasts and peaks in South America. Among other things, Santiago is characterized by its varied barrios (neighborhoods). Each reflects its own personality and mentality. The metropolis has over 5 million inhabitants and covers an area of about 641 km².

For the journey from Germany you should bring some time. The journey by plane takes about 18 hours. In return, a unique culture awaits you on site.

Culinary: Fish & Seafood

Santiago is a true culinary paradise. Due to its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, fish and seafood are especially popular. During your stay you should also explore the classic Chilean gastronomy. Mussels with parmesan or crab soup are on the menu here. If you prefer to cook yourself, you can find fruits and vegetables, cheese and meat specialties, as well as all the ingredients for preparing Chilean dishes at the loud, colorful weekly market La Vega Mark.

Nightlife: Tango & Techno

Attention dance fanatics! Party until sunrise is the motto here. Each neighborhood is characterized by its own celebration culture and a special audience. The Ñuñoa neighborhood has traditional tango clubs and an active jazz scene. While in Bellavista you can hear the thunderous electronic beats from afar. Restaurants with live music are also located here. Elegant nightclubs can be found in the mainstream Vitacura district. Club Eve is particularly popular with VIPs. So if you like to dance, you will certainly find the right background music here.

Hipster district Lastarria

At the weekend, especially young people meet here to ring in the weekend. Sip a delicious Chardonnay in the wine bar or enjoy the Pisco Sour. In Lastarria there are countless bars, restaurants and clubs to discover. But even in daylight, a trip to the hipster district of the city is worthwhile. Colorful flea markets, design stores and galeries create an exciting, young atmosphere. Musicians and street artists are always present here and offer you a free musical background.

How the multi-talent brings everything under one roof

FIV: Hello dear Kati, how nice that it worked out with the interview today. You are extremely successful both as a singer and on social media, that can certainly be quite stressful. How do you manage to balance it all?

Kati K.: Hey! I’m also very pleased. Quite easy answered actually. With a passion one forgets as well known the time and I love it simply so much that I do not feel it at all as stressful.

Career highlight: The first record deal

FIV: You’ve had a very successful year as a singer: you’ve released several songs, one of yours even made it into the charts and you signed with Sony Music! What has been your personal highlight in your career so far?

Kati K.: Actually, every single single is always a big highlight haha. But of course also my first record deal. That was just such a big milestone for me.

Big goals for the future: new music & performances

FIV: You have already achieved a lot as a newcomer, what are your further goals for your music career?

Kati K.: Definitely play my first own tour and release my first own album this year, next year at the latest. My biggest wish is of course to be able to make my own music forever.

The big dream of singing at the age of 3

FIV: How did you get into music and was becoming a singer always your dream?

Kati K.: I grew up in a musical family and already sat at the piano at the age of 3 and strummed my first notes and sang. I wrote my own songs when I was a teenager. Becoming a singer has always been my dream.

The dream destination of the singer: the USA!

FIV: As a singer you are of course on the road a lot, but you also like to travel privately and take your followers with you on your wonderful trips, like your trips to Ibiza and Mallorca. Which place do you definitely want to travel to one day?

Kati K.: My big dream is to see the USA. I hope that is possible this year! Australia and Sweden are also items on my travel bucket list.

Kati’s future plans: new music, concerts & own merch

FIV: Finally a short look into the future, we are curious what you have planned in the near future: Do you have big plans like a new project or maybe an album, or is there something special coming up? Give us a little teaser of what your fans and followers can look forward to in the near future!

Kati K.: You can definitely look forward to a lot of new music this year, my first own merch and hopefully some concerts.
