Attersee via ferrata Mahdlgupf: climbing in nature

The via ferrata directly at the Attersee is for experienced climbers a great opportunity to make a challenging climbing tour with a fantastic view. The tour is steep and demanding and therefore only suitable for experienced climbers and not for beginners. The via ferrata is varied and consists in between again and again of steep downswings and the rope anchorages are partly far apart, which makes the via ferrata partly strenuous and particularly challenging. The hike is leisurely, but climbs throughout, it goes through stony path and largely through the forest. Since the route is partly steep and at the top is also walked over rock, the route is rather unsuitable for small children, but doable with older children. Since a large part of the trail leads through the forest, the hike is also suitable for particularly sunny days.

Merano is a city in the north of Italy in the middle of the South Tyrolean Alps, lies at an altitude of 325 meters and has about 40,000 inhabitants. Atlantis in the Edersee: the sunken villages

One may hardly believe it, but under the Edersee a total of three villages have disappeared, which, when the water level is low, come back to the surface and can be hiked. How the whole thing came about is very simple. More than 100 years ago the Eder dam was built for navigation and the villages Asel, Berich and Bringhausen had to move their location upwards. Therefore they disappeared in the lake after the construction and are now considered as Atlantis of the Edersee. To visit them there are two possibilities. Either you dive under the lake and examine the mysterious world under water or you wait until the water level sinks and the cities appear. If the latter is the case, you can even cross the lake on the sunken bridge.

Nevertheless, the Berliners insist that Herta Heuwer offered fried boiled sausage with a sauce made of tomato paste, curry powder, Worcestershire sauce and other ingredients at her snack stand on the corner of Kant-/Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße in Berlin-Charlottenburg on September 4, 1949. It was not until 10 years later, on 21 January 1959, that she patented her special sauce mixture under the name “Chillup”.
