Your holiday can start while packing your suitcase: So everything fits and remains wrinkle-free

The beginning of the annual holiday is approaching. Just the right time to deal with travel preparations such as packing a suitcase. Two questions are in the foreground: What belongs in the suitcase? How do I store the luggage as effectively as gently? We want to give you tips and suggestions on the most important aspects and reveal a trick on how textiles with light wrinkles become smooth again even without an iron.

Photo: © Billion Photos / Shutterstock

Basically, the luggage can be divided into five categories:

  • Documents / Key
  • first aid kit
  • Personal Care and Cosmetics
  • Clothing
  • Accessories / Technology

It is important to make copies of all documents and place them in different pieces of luggage. Thus, in case of loss, an emergency replacement is always available. In addition, important medicines should be in hand luggage when traveling by air. Otherwise, all jars, tubes and vials above the 100 milliliter limit are in the suitcase.

So much clothes should be there

The choice of clothing depends largely on individual factors such as personal needs, travel needs and local circumstances. A few basic structures have also proven themselves in very different situations:

  • On underwear and socks / stockings, at least one set should be included per day of travel.
  • Also the stock of t-shirts, polo shirts and shirts for men respectively Tops and blouses for the women should allow a daily change.
  • Trousers, skirts and dresses can usually be worn multiple times with a break of one day for airing. Does not mind, is sufficient for short trips every two days and for longer stays every three days a part.
  • Blazers, jackets and other jackets are packed according to personal needs. This also applies to headgear.
  • Depending on the nature of your trip, shoes for beach, city strolls, Outdoor activities, party, special occasions and of course needed for the room.
  • There are also sports and swimwear. Again, make sure that there is always at least one spare set in your luggage.
  • In addition to sleepwear, washcloths and towels round off the travel range of textiles.

By the way: Especially with connecting flights, it can happen that the suitcase arrives with a slight delay. So that the stay then does not have to start with an emergency shopping, it makes sense to pack at least a complete clothing set in the on-board case.

Pack the suitcase properly

So that everything fits into the suitcase, you can use some tricks when packing . All clothing that is not susceptible to creases will be rolled up. Socks and / or stockings can be stuffed into the mirrored opposite shoes. The lower portion of the case is filled with these heavier or insensitive parts. A strong pressure to compress is quite allowed. In addition, gaps can be filled with small parts. On top come pants, skirts, dresses, jackets, blazers and similar textiles. They are placed in the suitcase so that they protrude alternately right and left beyond its limits. After that, they are placed one inside the other from top to bottom. At the top, best in a separate area come the neatly folded blouses and shirts. Here are the best non-iron or easy to iron models chosen to be placed between the tissue paper or fine towels. It is important to unpack the suitcase immediately upon arrival and to hang delicate textiles on a stirrup.

Conclusion: With a little preparation and the right packing technology, everything arrives safely

So it is not that difficult to get everything you need in your suitcase and to bring it to the destination with care. If there are a few wrinkles, that’s no problem. Tip: A shower after the exhausting journey not only refreshes. It can also help to eliminate slight wrinkles in the jacket, blazer and the like when they are briefly suspended in the bathroom.

Selling self made products: How to start a new career

Selfmade products are in demand on the market like never before. Because fashion that is not mass produced gives its wearer a touch of uniqueness. A pinch of nostalgia at the time when everything was still handmade, also resonates. If you like to make your own clothes and accessories, the sale of your good pieces could give you an interesting future perspective. But how can homemade be sold?

Get feedback for your handmade things

For a professional business, it is not enough, if you make the stylish tunic once. You must be able to produce the product in appropriate quantities – and also spend the necessary time. The materials cost money and need space. Therefore, not only should you have enough storage space, but also be able to shop for your required fabrics and other materials in such a way that you still have a profit margin at the end. Unfortunately, it is not enough if the best friend likes the homemade garment. Before you professionally raise your business, you need unbiased feedback. Praise can inspire, but does not help you if there are still things to improve. It’s best to make a selection of the clothes or accessories you plan to sell and give them to selected test subjects. Ask for honest feedback on the materials used, workmanship, design and overall look. Then you have a first impression of how your creations could arrive on the market.

Calculate the profit margin

Many have slipped into the sale of homemade things, step by step. Over the months and years, but sometimes over night, the hobby became a profession. However, if you do not want to bake small rolls right from the start, you can not get around a business plan. Not only do you need materials and tools, you also have to pay for packing material and shipping costs. Keep in mind that the production of your good pieces consumes electricity, water and heating in your workspace. Also remember that you need to invest in labels that comply with the EU Textile Labeling Regulation, homepage, logo, printed matter and advertising. All expenses on your list should be allocated to the single handmade piece. Calculate the sales prices so that you have something left after deduction of all costs. Now you can count how much self-made things you need to sell each month to earn a profit or even live off the sale of your products.

Use online portals for home-made

As good as your products may be, they do not sell themselves by themselves. Of course, you can go the classic way and offer your home-made things at city festivals. However, this only reaches a very small number of customers. On the Internet, on the other hand, there are customers worldwide for your products. There are now several national and international platforms that specialize in the sale of home-made things. DaWanda is the most popular marketplace in Germany for Do it yourself. You can quickly open your own shop and get started. DaWanda earns on the registration fee and sales commissions. Etsy works similarly. Other online marketplaces for handmade are muckout, vondir, palundu and ezebee. Under certain circumstances, there is a niche for home-made even on Ebay. Still relatively unknown is the option “Handmade by Amazon”. To be accepted, your products must comply with Amazon requirements and successfully complete the application process. Alternatively, you can open an online shop on your homepage.

It does not work without advertising

However, it is not enough to open a shop on a do it yourself portal and wait for the customers. Because to attract potential buyers, it now needs marketing and advertising. The social media help you reach as many people as possible. You can use Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter to drum up your creations. When you advertise on Google, you reach your targeted audience. There will be no cost to you until your ad is clicked. Always make sure that you are legally on the safe side. For example, find out about copyright and get tax advice so there are no nasty surprises. Thanks to the Internet, it is now easier than ever to start a successful business with handmade products. However, if you do not want to stay on a sideline, you will need to spend a lot of time, energy, and financial resources to make a living selling your home-made creations

Trend Piece – Baker Boy Hats

Hello my love!

After a long break, I’ll get back to you. Unfortunately, the University has taken the last weeks of my life, because exams are unfortunately not written by itself. In spite of all that, I am here for you again and report on the latest trends and fashion must-haves.

+ Do you know?

+

Baker Boy Beanies – the new trend in spring

The Baker Boy caps can now be seen not only everywhere on Instagram and social networks, but also in the city and in everyday life. The caps were worn as early as the 19th and 20th centuries, but then exclusively by men, traditionally by workers and artisans in Paris. In the 1920s, this stylish accessory was discovered by golf and tennis and is now celebrating its revival.

Styling Tips & Insider Knowledge

You will not only find them classic in black with a band over the cap, but now in many colors, patterns and designs. The cool accessory directly enhances the outfit in its very own way. This is especially evident in bloggers and influencers at Fashion Weeks in Berlin, Paris, London etc.

The best thing about this trend? With a bad hair day we do not have to despair now. Cap on and style the hair undone look underneath. Your look is finished à la Parisienne. However, this trend is not entirely new either, because true style icons, such as Kate Moss or Christy Turlington, have long appreciated this stylish accessory.

In conclusion, I can only say that I simply love the trend. The beanies go with everything and just look perfect. I hope I could inspire you a little and encourage you to the new accessory. If you have any suggestions, questions, wishes or criticism, feel free to write me in the comments! Until then, I wish you a great week.

DIY tip! – Accessories are trumps

Hello my love! It’s that time again, a new week has started and it’s time for a little style update! Personally, I’m a huge fan of Basic parts, because you can easily combine them into anything and they just look elegant and extraordinary along with special it-pieces. I have put together a complete basic outfit for you, but the special thing is that I have created a very special statement accessory out of 2 Basics. To show you how quickly you can spice things up with little time, I have a little DIY for you!

+ Do you know?

+

DIY – Silk cloth binding

This little DIY you can do with 2 very simple utensils that most will probably find in their closet. You need:

  • a bag – that can be a shoulder bag as well as a shopping bag or a shoulder bag
  • A silk handkerchief (if you do not own one, just ask the mother or grandma, formerly his belonged in any good wardrobe)
  • I tied the silk scarf to my shoulder bag’s chain, but you can also wrap it around a handle, for example, or attach it in the form of a bow. The silk scarf is such an effective but unfortunately forgotten accessory. It is also incredibly good as a hair band or as a scarf. If you do not have one in your closet, I recommend you buy one because they are all-rounder. You can usually find such cloths in vintage stores or in your grandma’s wardrobe.

Lookbook – Basic + Basic = It-Piece

After I spiced up my bag with my silk scarf, I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit simple. So of course I chose a gray oversize knit sweater matching the season, which in my opinion is the absolute basic of the fall season. Under my sweater I wear a leather-look leggings. I think leggings go only with a wide top or sweater over it but especially for cozy autumn days combined with a sweater they are particularly suitable. My sockboots are just incredibly comfortable and give the outfit a little more elegance. So simple Stylt her a basic outfit for the autumn days with a very special DIY It-Piece.

I hope you liked my column and my DIY and I was able to inspire you a bit. Of course you will learn more from me about fashion, style and outfits next week. Until then, I wish you a great week!

Fall Lookbook – The perfect fall outfit

Hello my love! It’s already November and this year is just too fast handled again! Autumn is slowly turning into winter and temperatures are falling and falling. But as long as leaves are still on the trees, I refuse to recognize that it is already winter. Therefore, today I show you my absolute favorite case look!

+ Do you know?

+

Autumn outfit – warm, practical and stylish

As soon as the temperatures drop we start to rummage the sweaters back out of the closet. This has, of course, something nice, because sweaters are just great, but on the other hand, it also means, of course, that it is cold and you want to crawl in the warmth of his beds. To make the cold seasons as stylish as possible, I’ve put together my favorite Fall Look! If you are looking for more fall outfit ideas, have a look!

Cuddly sweaters – the best for the fall!

Of course, my choice falls on a cuddly, warm sweater, this time in white with trumpet sleeves. These sweaters are just perfect for this season. It makes you feel a little bit like having your bed taken outside and are we honestly – is there anything nicer?

Culotte – also in the fall a good idea

For my sweater I wear a culotte. Actually, these pants are more intended for the summer or the spring, since they usually consist of a rather thin fabric. But I also think it’s a great idea for the fall, especially in darker colors, as I have chosen, it can be combined and styled great. Another plus? They are very comfortable, as they are cut so far. If the airy pants are still too cold, I recommend a pantyhose underneath. She hardly falls on and still keeps super warm!

Sockboots – the all-rounder in every season

Also in my last column I already mentioned the sockboots. I think you realize that I’ve become a real fan of these shoes! My pair has a golden heel that makes them special. They’re just so comfortable and that’s why I wear them almost every day. They pep up every outfit and are perfect for everyday wear.I hope I could inspire you with my Fall Lookbook and sweeten the cold days a little bit. If you have suggestions or tips, feel free to write me in the comments. Until the next column I wish you a nice week and enjoy the pre-Christmas mood!

The biggest German supermodels of all times!

Most of the really big top models in the world come from Brazil, America or Australia. However, there are one or the other supermodels in the world who come from Germany. The first name that comes to mind is of course Heidi Klum, but there are many more who have also made a name for themselves in the scene. We have put together a list with the best and biggest top models from Germany for you!

Caro Daur

The German model and influencer is one of the new generation models who are also booked on social media because of their reach. She is very successful and designs, among others, for brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel and Calzedonia.

Stefanie Giesinger

At the age of 17, the 1.77-meter former high school student took part in the ninth season of the casting show Germany’s Next Top Model, which aired on ProSieben from February 2014. On May 8, 2014, she won the final. In June 2014 she was on the cover of German Cosmopolitan. Like other participants of the season, she received from Günther Klums model agency ONEeins a two-year contract, which she did not renew. Since then, she is very active on social media and as a model, and is often booked as an influencer.

Anna Ewers

In 2013 she came into business and ran at 42 fashion shows in Paris and New York. A call from designer Alexander Wang promoted her career. The German-language edition March 2015 of fashion magazine Vogue brought with her for the first time ever five different cover pictures of the same model by star photographers like Patrick Demarchelier or Peter Lindbergh. She lives in Brooklyn, New York and is, according to Stern, “currently the internationally most booked German model”.

Toni Garrn

As a model she was discovered in Hamburg at a Fanfest for the Football World Cup 2006. The international breakthrough came in the following year, when she was booked exclusively for Calvin Klein. After graduating from high school Ohlstedt in Hamburg, she also moved to New York City to work as a model professional.
